Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
SpoilerFinally some crits! I knew I got a rapier for something. I will say that the forums have been pretty bad for me lately too, so bad that I've considered moving my games to Myth-Weavers.

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
SpoilerI will push through this forum block if it kills me (or IE as the case may be. I've had to go as far as restart my interwebs to make these pages show up. Also, all of what I want to post is written in Notepad first. THe general problem is accessing the reply page, and then having it load. Bear with me, and I apologize immensly for the slow response.
The actual game:
Willem's and Slavomir's targets are felled rather quickly, getting nothing mor ethan glancing blows against their attackers. It gives WIllem and SLav the opportunity to move back to the Icee #4 moving to take down Cara, but which got sidetracked at Ja's attacks (and thus was able to attack once before feeling the beatdown of WIllem and Slav combined).
SpoilerDamage to Ja: 1 attack of 3 hit, dealing 8 damage.
500 XP to everyone.
The four Icee's that attacked from this side where not the only set to attack the caravan, as a whole pack followed the idiot troupe, and now surround the entire mission. The caravan masters are calling for everything to move out immediatly, and are going to ram out the front.
SpoilerEveryone please make spot checks. If you have a profession or knowledge skill, or anything out of the ordinary, please list it as well. I cannot seem to find your character sheets in my records (lost another hard drive. Best Buy is going to have a nasty surprise if this continues to occur

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
Slavomir Ibachov
Stepping high up onto the cart they were to guard Slavomir stabs the air with his sword.
"I am a servant of zhe Maid of Freedom, vielder of her fame and ardor! Cold ice shall not avail you, frost varriors. Go back to zhe seashore. Ve shall pass!"
He looks down at the horses pulling the cart.
"Fly, you fools!"

Things were a lot better when I was freezing trying to fall asleep. Instead, we are now surrounded by monsters, I'm hurt, and it is still freezing. When did things go so wrong?
Though he spoke outloud, it was obvious the intended audience was himself.

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
Chuck appears to have fallen off of the face of the earth, utterly pissed with our ISP. He hasn't even worked on our comic for weeks. He said I can try to run his campaigns, with all three sentences of his notes.
The thing you were fighting before is dead and everyone is level three. Let me see how many people are still in, and then I will have something drawn up.

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
So... a fighter and a healer? The forums fall. Everybody dies. J/p
I'll try to PM some of the other guys back in. And then work on getting the party into the tulip dungeon (I swear that is what the picture in front of his notes for the adventure looks like).

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
SpoilerUm, give me a day to write up an explaination of what happened to the party and why they are now stranded exactly where they needed to be. It will likely involve some kind of chase scene with a massive ice serpent (something that Chuck was hoping to turn into a mini game, but I cannot even begin to grasp how that would be done on the forums). The party has access to goods from the trade caravan, and enough gold to be equiped properly at 3rd level

Who was Chuck and who are you? Same user account, so confusing if you're a different person?
We just got some gear upgrades, and although we'd all take some magic stuff, we're not that bad off.

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
Hi there... new DM guy. Kind of odd to hear that regular neoseph/Chuck is out of the loop for a bit, but it's really nice of you to step in.
I'm still in, I've just been suffering from a cold that kept catapulting me into really bad fevers for the last five days, but I'm fine now and am actually interested in things other than wrapping myself in blankets and watching movies .
I'm playing Slavomir Ibachov, communist and russian accented Paladin of Kalia.
Like J-H says we're pretty well off for equipment, but I'll take a look and see what I should pick up.Currently DMingSpoilerEberron: The Secrets of War

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
SpoilerCertainly a fair question. I'm James. I see what he said about the forums being buggy though. I didn't get a new username because I'm not much for forums, but I love D&D and love to DM, and these games sounded like fun. Chuck didn't want to just leave the games abandoned, and I asked to help him out.
Everyone got back onto the caravan and started to high tail it out of there as huge tremors started to rock the camp site. The Icees (did he make those up?) decided to flee as well, and were no longer the dangerous element here. Massive serpents with fins and fangs composed of crystal and scally bodies that reflect the light over their mirrored hides. Over 50ft long, the frost leviathicus submerged in the snow made up what seemed to be a hill side.
Seven such creatures emerged to hunt, and all but the largest chased after the Icees. The last one, a big fat leviathicus eyed the caravan hungrily. The party, seeing the danger before the eruption, was able to get the caravan moving before it was too late.
A chase scene ensued, and party was able to force the leviathicus into the ocean by sending the caravan towards the cliffs and triggering a landslide when the creature was exactly where they wanted it to be.
The caravan slowed to a crawl, and not all of the carts had made it. The group found an old fort, frozen into the cliffside, and decided to stop to repair and send out both a search party for survivors and a messenger to Lone Port Bay. At this stop, however, the party finds the formation they were looking for, and have a week to explore while the caravan stays put.
SpoilerOk, a lot of that is directly from Chuck's notes, and it all doesn't make much sense yet. I am still reading through his dissertation on the frozen North.

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
SpoilerOh. That's why he got fed up. I couldn't even see the site for almost a week, and I know it isn't the ISP (If other sites are loading, it isn't the ISP, right?)
The party spends the day exploring the cliffs and hills that compose the region around the caravan. All they can find are the unblossomed blood lilies that make their home in the ice. Occasionally they find a rodent or similar, but noithing of great interest. Just a snowy field like most others.
That night one of the caravan merchants comes to sit with the party. Apperciative of the parties efforts during the crisis, she pulls out spiced flatbread she brought from home and shares it with the party.
SpoilerThe party has the chance to interact and, you know role play for what must be the first time in weeks. The conversation is supposed to lead to the woman sharing an old story that will directly lead to the next adventure, but take your time getting there. If you want to progress the story line, just ask in chararcter for her to discuss some of the local legends.

Re: The Actual Vega North Campaign
Willem
The large, stout, bald former smith welcomes the merchant, and partakes gladly of her tasty bread. He uses what he knows of the area to ask questions to expand the party's knowledge of where interesting things might be, and tries to get directions to the rock formation that was pictured on the obelisk back in the caves...
