The Savage, seeing Aliam leap for a chain, breaks into a fanged grin and does the same, springing into the air with extreme agility and speed.

PP, it's grappling so I went ahead and applied you sneak attack/sudden strike damage.

As the spider ascends upward with Jaume, the savage lashes out, scoring a shallow hit on the creature's side, Blue also manages to grab the thing's leg and is carried along. Aliam and the savage both grab the chains and begin their ascent. Once his grip is firmly in place, Blue delivers a series of heavy kicks to what could be the creature's kidneys. After Sebastian incases it in fire, it gives a last shriek and goes slack, falling to the floor with a mighty crash. (Jaume and Blue take (2d6)[6] falling damage).

Sebastian

The man slowly descends on ghostly wings to float just above the ghastly creature. Despite his knowledge that the electricity bound to it will likely kill it twice over he draws in breath. It warps and changes inside him before a deafening burst of sound surges out from within to tear the creature to shreds. Thereafter he will carefully slide his wand back into the slot from which it came with a grumble about it being damned useless.

Aliam

Aliam slides back down his chain. "We should see if there's anyone alive in any of these chain coccoons." He gets out his adamantine hacksaw and begins carefully opening them up cutting one link at a time til he makes a large enough opening to determine.

The Savage hangs from the bottom of a chain, grinning with massive pointed teeth, as he rehooks his kukri to his belt and watches the rest of the party.

Not shifting back. I'll be taking my kukri out again when we move on, to be ready for possible threats.

Blue hits the ground rolling gracefully, transferring all of the fall's energy into forward motion, ending on the ground. He quickly hops to his feet and looks to Jaume. "You be allright?"

Jamian heads over to the spidar while unsheathing his longsword. Once in position he swings hoping to hit the foul beast.

As he party reassembles, Aliam breaks through the coccoon to find a white alabaster skeleton, completely devoid of flesh. Its bones show intense lacerations. Jamian is unable to pierce the spider's hide of chains.

Convinced the thing is dead he turns his gaze back to the room and with softly glowing eyes searches for those magical auras he noticed earlier.

The Savage surveys the room once more from his hanging chain before making a massive leap across the room onto the top of the mess of chains that was the chain beast. He begins shuffling chains around, looking through the body to see what it was physically.

Sebastian finds the auras belong to a long, white-wood staff and a ring, under a pile of chains in the corner. With them are some assorted platinum coins, obviously very old, and a brilliant star sapphire. Aliam finds some more coins of the same sort, and four identical amulets devoid of magic but of high artistic value. The savage can't seem to make any headway on the beast's "skin".

He focuses himself to force the magic within to flow through the staff to reveal its nature to him. Thereafter he will reactivate his magical sight and repeat the process on the ring. The coins and the sapphire will find their way to his pack once he counts or estimates the number of coins.

The staff reveals itself to be a Staff of Healing and the ring a ring of protection +1. Not including the coins that Aliam found, Sebastian estimates there to be about five-hundred.

He slides his hand over the shaft for a few moments before looking to the others, "Does anyone have use for a staff which can dispense healing or a ring which offers minor protection?" He says this as he dumps the platinum coins into his bag and slips the ring on his own finger.

((How many charges? Identify reveals charges remaining. 500 in value or 500 platinum? Still probably 30 rounds left on that recharge for my Dragonborn breath. XD))

"I could use the protection." The Savage says, still crouched on top of the remains of the monster.

The staff has a full 50 charges, Sebastian finds about five hundred coins. Aliam another three-hundred.

Aliam shrugs, "I'm not a priest, but I've made a study out of how to use any magic item... there are ways to finagle and make them work for anybody. If you want me to use the staff for the benefit of the party I can."

Blue shrugs as the items are offered. He holds up his left hand--his ring finger holds a ring of protection of a higher grade. "Methinks this ring be better, and I get no use outta th' staff's magic. I'd be better of usin' it like a weapon, and that be a big waste methinks."

ooc I'm not sure what caused the deafness, though I'm presuming that this was caused by the chain creatures.

Jamian knowing that he is deaf looks over himself and the others in the group as best he can.

I'm aware of that. the checks were to learn how long the durations are. Also, I'm presuming that I know what caused the deafness, but if not that gives me the cause. Also, will a lesser restoration remove the deaf status?

Aliam picks up the staff to look it over. "Is anyone hurt?"

Blue shakes his head; having sustained no injuries during the battle. "So, we be ready to move on yet?"

Aliam

Aliam nods, "I'm ready... I'd like to check the other door before we go in this time." He moves over to the door out into the hallway.

The Savage growls quietly and shakes his head from side to side, watching people speak without noises.

As he steps out the door, Aliam catches something out of the corner of his eye. He thinks he sees the spider's chains coming closer together where Blue kicked it. This gives him just enough time to react as the spider roars, gets back up and strikes at the were-tiger on top of it. (19 damage to The Savage). Initiative stands, fort saves please and a grapple check from The Savage.
