Spring is a great season for me to open up and enjoy the rain!

Vote me for Spring itP because I represent a good part of the Spring. The rain. I protect you from getting wet. As well, I'm told I make people happy. The spring also does that because people are happy that winter is over/their birthday is coming/summer is coming/school is over soon. Also, I've made one or two peoples icy hearts melt . I enjoy the spring time.

How is a typical summer day were you live?
Sunny, Warm without being oppressively hot (20-30 Celcius), Occasional summer rains.

What feelings or things do you associate with the season of summer?
Freedom, Happiness, Fun!

What makes summer so special?
Being able to have days where you do nothing but lay on a patch of grass and stare up at the sky, and nights where you sit on a patio with friends and a cold beer.

So what do you do during spring? What activities do you engage in?
Picnics. Camping. Road Trips (64 hours of road trips this summer). Above mentioned Patio beers. Going to the Ball Park.

Describe your perfect summer.
Low 30's everyday. A couple of clouds in the sky, and at least one warm summer rain per week.

What is your favorite summer flower?
The Iris

What country do you associate with the season summer?
No one country. Summer is everywhere. Summer is more than just hot, it's about the feeling of freedom. Freedom from school, work, life. Wherever that feeling lives, summer is going strong.

A renewal of life, a gladness that the low ceilings and days of little to no sunlight are gone, the days begin to lengthen. The weather improves.

What makes spring so special?
The warmth, the newness of things and the chances for severe weather.

gardening, catching tadpoles, bicycle rides, go tornado chasing.

Days of being outside (and not having to go to work). Being able to watch the thunderstorms roll in.

The little purple hyacinth.

Everywhere I have lived has Spring. In South Korea it's the time to plant the rice paddies. In the central US it's the season for severe weather.

How is a typical winter day were you live? Dose it snow there?
Yes it does. Winter round here get's so cold that snowing becomes, in fact, not an option. Yes, it becomes to cold for snow.

What feelings or things do you associate with the season of winter?
Joy of making a snow angel. The Fun of chucking that first snowball at someone. The bitterness felt when walking to your car only to scrape the 6 inches of snow off it in the freezing cold. All of this, from the land of 10,000+ ice rinks.

What makes winter so special?
Skiing! Hockey! Sledding! Ice Skating! Being able to say "Well, it's a dry cold" in response to all the warmer climates snarky responses.

So what do you do during winter? What activities do you engage in?
Skiing! Hockey! Sledding! Ice Skating! Ice Fishing! Building Calvin and Hobbe's style snowmen. Taking out the snowblower and thoroughly enjoying the fact your shooting snow 10 feet in the air.

Describe your perfect winter.
The perfect scene is just after the snow falls, when holiday lights are out. You see them twinkle from underneath the blanket of snow. The plows haven't cleared the streets yet and made the muddy embankments form. You light a fire, warm up some cocco, and snuggle up with your significant other to just watch the flames and enjoy each others company. Oh, for the whole winter, not just the best part of it. Well, a perfect winter is one where it snows a bunch and doesn't quite reach the phase where it's too cold to precipitate.

Have you ever touched real snow?
Yes, I've even gone skiing on it.

What country do you associate with the season winter?
Well, any of the nordic countries I do, but one specifically is Canada, our closest neighbor to the north with all the Elk, Caribou, and Moose sum it up quite nicely.

Can any of the other candidates say they've walked in a palace of ice? How many can make the claim of going to see ice sculptures in the park when the temp was -30? I have participated in all sorts of winter sports, including Ice Skating, Hockey, Ice Fishing, Snow-mobiling, Sledding, Cross Country and Downhill Skiing, Snowboarding, and Tubing. I have made men and women of snow, built igloo's and other snow structures. I've made an ice rink in the back yard using the water hose, and I know the dangers of yellow snow. During this season, I have placed in my vehichle sand-bags for extra weight, a shovel for when you slide into the snow-bank, and non-perishable food just in case I end up stuck in a ditch and can't get out right away.

Of course, if words are necessary I could tell you about being able to tell when it is below zero just by the sound the snow makes when I step out my front door, or how I know that -40 is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit because that is where the thermometer outside the kitchen window bottoms out, or how my car has an electrical plug hanging out the front grill, as do most cars up here, because without the engine block heater plugged in, there is no way it would start at fifty below. I could tell you about days with a meager three hours of daylight or ice fog that blankets my city for days at a time or seeing the northern lights from my bedroom window or sitting in a hot spring with icicles forming in my hair and loving every minute of it.
