Kore does not strike me as particularly rational. I bet he'll find Goblinslayer torturing a goblin, kill him for torturing the goblin (torture is evil), then kill the goblin for being evil, then kill a passing ant for observing and not doing anything.
Then whistle on his merry way, giving some kids a sermon about drugs.

I'm fairly certain that Kore doesn't bother with Detect Evil.

Also that he'd probably kill the kids as well. Just for the fact that even with his lecture, they might be tempted to do drugs, and then foster evil.

Thaco humiliated GS (and he was Great in doing it), but we all know that the worst mistake you can do, is to leave alive your sworn enemy.

It depends on how resurrection works in the Goblins world. If GS troops could bring him back from the dead then this is clearly the best choice.

I assumed from GS's reaction from Cain's death that there's either no resurrection magic in Goblins, diamonds are really rare or that Brassmoon lacks a level 13 or better Cleric. Based on GS's apparent mid-level and the fact that he managed to gain enough power to get a large amount of armed guards and funding for dungeons, I'm tempted to assume that higher level characters are really rare in this world, so even a Raise Dead may be out of the question.

That does seem to be the case. It seems fairly likely that Goblin Slayer is only Level 7 or so, but is considered high level simply because there aren't very many characters around of that level. It would also explain how Big Ears had any shot at taking Cain early.

He had a very powerful artefact, from the looks of things.
Maybe the demon killed all the high level characters?

Speaking of Kore, I don't think he is quite as psychopathic as people make him out to be here. Of course, he is a vile, insane murderer, but I don't think he would consider "keeing evil creatures captive for the purpose of torturing and killing them" evil or associating with evil. The reason he gave for killing that dwarf kid was because he assumed there was a slight chance he might grow up to sympathise with monsters. Which, well, is correct. Of course, to kill him for that turns Kore into a horrible monster, but it's not like he simply made up a reason out of nothing.

Regarding Cain, he was at a huge disadvantage from the start due to his weapon being useless againt Big Ears. Once he lost most of his AC, and his magic weapon, he was pretty much dependant on trying to grapple, which didn't work out too well due to the axe's properties.

Big Ears was pretty lucky that Cain didn't decide to simply beat the stuffing out of him with his bare hands after the first time the axe failed to cause any injury.

That would have generated AOOs, unless Cain had Improved Unarmed Strike, though. Also, we don't know how high BE's AC was once he got the armour. (It looked like Full Plate, so that would be +8 without magical enhancements, BE is Small so that's another +1, and we don't have a clue what his Dex modifier is.)

OK. Keeping evil monsters puts you in contact with them, meaning there is a chance you will pick up habits, talk and eventually sympathize with them. Same thing.

Umm... what Johnny Blade said. Being raised by someone seems a lot more inclined to generate sympathy towards them than keeping them captive for the sole purpose of torturing them in order to kill them better.

I agree with Winterwind and Johnny Blade in that Kore isn't likely to kill Goblinslayer for "associating" with monsters. If anything, he'd berate him for getting defeated by a goblin which lead to monsters escaping. Still, I think that a team-up of Kore and Goblinslayer isn't unlikely.

The real question though is what Kore would do if he found out GS had been associating with someone who killed and looted a paladin.

I think you can safely assume given his behaviour that he isn't likely to give two (or even a single) hoots about what the hell other paladins do, or what happens to them.

After all, a dead Paladin is a Paladin who either failed in their Divine Mission or was too old to be of use to the Divine Mission. Kore is a fanatic after all. No-one else would be so methodically brutal in a cause.

However, GS's buddy was threatening to release a high level demon in the world, and that's definetely evil.

If anything, I believe that Cain will finally feel doubt when he's faced with a goblin paladin.
