Re: Z-Day, Level 4 Outbreak, Game thread
Later that night, after the departure of Edwin and Sarah he continues drinking late in to the night, Aemon passing out on the floor, narrowly avoiding choking in his own vomit. Not a pretty sight, to be frank. At least last night he had made it to bed by himself.

Re: Z-Day, Level 4 Outbreak, Game thread
Post OutbreakOutbreak, Level 3
The clerics are all at rest, rejuvenating their mind for the healing that they intend to do tomorrow. Healing that will come... too late. Late in the night, of the dozens and dozens wounded, over 30 turn. The people, soundly asleep near them, never stood a chance. Within minutes, the outbreak from earlier in the day, numbering close to 30, is dwarfed. Guards in the street are overrun in a matter of seconds, as throngs of the...things swarm out of lower city and the temple district. Panicking citizens, just waking up to the horrors of the previous day all over again, flee. Several knock over light sources, lanterns and torches. The resulting fires only add to the chaos, as some people in inns and houses must choose between the fire... or the horde.
@Lykan:
Sometime around 3 hours past midnight, you notice several small glows breaking out in the city. There appear to be plumes of smoke coming from them. It appears to be buildings aflame.
@Sleeping People:
You awake to a start. There appears to be the distant sounds of shouting from within the city. The triple whistle and single long whistle bursts seem to be echoing across the city.
Mechanics:SpoilerDrunkenness is left to your discretion. If you choose to consider yourself heavily intoxicated (Edwin is), apply a -2 penalty to all rolls for the next 2 hours.
Light intoxication will carry a -1 to all rolls for 30 minutes.
All of this is at your discretion.

Re: Z-Day, Level 4 Outbreak, Game thread
Tsk ,tsk. It appear that lykan was correct in his assumptions that things were about to get alot worse after that attack. That much blood with so few bodies is never a good sign.. espeicaly when you watched a man get one of his limbs chopped off, and still keep going after the being he was presuing.
honestly these meat bags confused Lykan so much with their desire to incorperate the wounded back into the populace KNOWING that a deisease broke out.
Honestly such carelessness was well beyond him.
(In case you have not noticed Lykan has multiple personailities. One that hates us Flesh bags, and one that is a generaly good metal man.)

Re: Z-Day, Level 4 Outbreak, Game thread
Sarah groaned slightly. Give me five more minutes she mumbled into her pillow.
Come on. her commander said, shaking her awake a bit more roughly.
Sarah looked at the time. It was around 3am. Surely she couldn't be serious. That's when she heard it. The whistles.
She immediately jumped out of bed only to sway lightly on her feet. Most of the alcohol effects wore off, but her head hurt slightly. She hadn't gotten enough sleep. She could only imagine how Edwin felt.
Everyone was bustling around, and hurrying. Sarah equipped her self, then noticed Edwin was still asleep. Come on. Wake up you big lug. she said to him.
He only groaned in response. Sarah gave him a light slap, and he stirred a little. A little harder one.
Huh what's happening he said bolting upright only to grab his head in pain.
Careful there. We have trouble. Come on.
Once they got outside, she saw that most groups already left, as her commander's company already did. Damn. They were too slow. Only thing left was to find them. Although, she should probably check ont hose people in the Salty Dog and make sure they were all right.
Come. We're going to the Salty Dog.
Isn't that against orders?
Doesn't matter. Wherever we go, we will most likely run into trouble.
With that, they sped off toward the Salty Dog.

Re: Z-Day, Level 4 Outbreak, Game thread
Gwaaagh. The whistles. The whistles. Slowly Aemon started to get up from the floor where he had fallen. He still felt like crap, his mouth tasted like consumed alcohol, but he was awake. Slowly the message of the whistles started to pound it's way through the haze of the hangover. He got up and went to find some water, checking through his possessions while dragging his way. He had fallen asleep with all his clothing, even his armor and swords on.
SpoilerHeavily intoxicated for me.Last edited by Adumbration; 2008-10-26 at 02:23 PM.

SpoilerNot sure where this leaves Issur. He probably slept near some bitten/turning? Unless he was on night watch, which may make sense, due to his light assignment.

@Noblesavage:
SpoilerYou are the final judge and arbiter of what yuor character chooses. If he chose to give the others a break, and volunteer for watch, then this is your scene:
SpoilerA whistle rings out in the night air. Three sharp blasts. Less than a second later, more whistles split the silence of the night. They appear to be coming from the Lower City area.
From deep within the temple, where the infirm lie, far from your post, screams echo out.
Moments after that, from the direction of the lower city, you see humanoid forms, dozens of them, passing under torchlights as they run down the street from lower city. Occasionally a clear glimpse shows a horrific wound on one of them.

Jaeril
"Errrrm..." Jaeril rolls to his feet and shakes his head to attempt to clear it. Then he splashes water on his face and rubs his eyes. After drinking a bit of water, he begins pulling on his clothes as fast as he can.
Whistles again. Drank a bit too much last night, but at least I didn't pass out. Don't feel so good, though. But I should try to find out what's happening.
He walks down the stairs a bit unsteadily, and makes his way outside, towards the source of the noise.
Spoiler
Lightly intoxicated.

Re: Z-Day, Level 4 Outbreak, Game thread
Issur
Forcing alertness, Issur keeps watch while his companions sleep, the least he could do, considering their respective activities. Damn city, keeping me from my duties. he thought bitterly. Making an effort, he shook off those feelings, No. Not their fault. Not my fault. The Lady was seen to, and that is all that matters. She must see to diplomatic matters, too, and my action was needed. Still, though... the thought trailed off, guilt fading with it. With sharp ears, and a vigilant spirit, Issur waited for what the night might bring him.
SpoilerSorry guys, thought I posted, but guess it never made it in. Crazy weekend and election. Will keep y'all better informed in the future, for sure.Last edited by NobleSavage; 2008-11-05 at 03:38 AM.
