Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
Mr Karnethay smiles as Julie sits, and the Howling Gale members head out the door, the last one slamming it in irritation.
Understandable. But we all have to do what we rather wouldn't sometimes.
So... diner. Jazz?
Mike looked over at her, expectantly.
OOCSpoilerThe kitchen is nearby, but it's another room

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
Jazz
"Hmm? Oh, umm... right..." She mumbles half-audibly, and stands up, her hair falling determinately into her face again and getting brushed back reflexively. She wanders over to the door on the way to the kitchen that the rest of the Howling Gale's members just exited through, acting a little wobbly, but is shocked back to her senses when he runs right into the door. She looks down in confusion, positive that she turned the doorknob, and realizes with some consternation that the door is soundly locked. "Erm... Mike?"

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
Wha..?
Mike looks over at Jazz, then gets up and heads over to the door, trying the handle himself
Hmm...
He turns the handle, and pushes, but doesn't seem to get anywhere. He turns round to the table.
Excuse me, but... would someone mind?

Jason
Jason looks at their host, a slight frown on his face. "Games, Karnethay?" He stands, and walks over to the door. "If we must play..." Jason then tries the door.

SpoilerIn an effort to dis-incline the Tomb of Horrors among us...
Jason
In an effort to be thorough, Jason turns the knob both left and right, pushes in the door and pulls outward on it as he twists in both directions.
Should that not work, he looks to see if the hinges are on this side of the door or not.

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
There are four doors in the room, one in each corner. You head over to the closer one, the one Howling Gale just left from.
That too, seems to be un-openable.

Mike too looks confused
Must be stiff...
He moves across the room to try the other two. A few minuets of banging and cursing later, he sighs
I can't shift them. Anyone?

Jason frowns and tries the two remaining doors. After most likely finding them locked as well, he looks to Karnethay. "Exactly how attached to your doors and wall are you?"

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
SpoilerNo, but unopenable might as well be locked.
Jason
"Most people, when trying to go through a door illegally, tend to want to go through the door itself." Jason says, mostly to himself, but where others can here him as well.
He then walks to the table, selecting a knife from one of the seatings. "However, a door is only as good as it's walls are. Your doors may be solid wood, but the walls? Plaster. Much easier to cut through, I would hope."
Jason walks back to the wall, near the door, and attempts to press the knife through the wall. If it only sinks in a bit, he moves about a foot to the side, assuming he hit a stud.
OOC:SpoilerOf course, if it's wooden walls, Jason instead tries to put the knife between wood slats.

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
The knife simply doesn't penetrate the wall. When it connects with the wall, it.. makes no give or mark whatsoever. You might as well be trying to get through rock as plaster
Mike looks on, at Jason's attempt, seemingly curious as to what the man is trying, though he doesn't commentLast edited by Moral Wiz; 2008-10-20 at 03:45 PM.

William sits, watching the efforts with the doors with at first amusement, then with puzzlement. "Mike... would you mind explaining what sort of... game you are playing." He stands, "Failing that, if you are truly as confused as the rest of us... explain why you summoned us here. Perhaps that will shed some light as to what is going on?"Show me a hero, and I'll write you a tragedy.

Karnethay sights, as he sits on the wooden flooring
I invited you here for a party. Nothing more. You all had very different dealings with me, and I thought dealing with them all at once, over a meal, would be interesting for all of us.

Warlock nods, "Anyone have any enemies capable of this kind of... situation? I might have been able to come up with something like this trick given a couple of months of planning time and unrestricted access to the house. As far as I know, only one person here has had that." Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
No one's had that sort of access to the house. The doors are all on Yale locks, nothing more. And I'm the only one with the keys. I don't lock them as a rule. And how, precisely, could I lock all those doors, at once, whilst sitting still?
JasonSpoilerno reception. Not that unusual in this place, it's rural.

Warlock
William shrugs, "As I said, given time and access... I could have us all sealed in a room... as part of an illusion. Given that you're not practicing some deceptive stage magic on us... there is that other alternative that I came here to discuss with you. Mike, forgive me if I seem to focus on you as the causative factor in all of this, you are the most likely suspect. However, you may indeed be as innocent as you claim, and if so, then someone or something here has either done this or brought it upon us." He looks at all of the others, "I suggest that person comes clean now before potential humor goes out the window and leaves you with a room full of angry individuals."Last edited by Wiz; 2008-10-20 at 05:15 PM.

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
Jazz
Jazz continues her futile twisting one way and the other on the door's handle, staring at it weirdly as though betrayed. Finally, her trembly hand falls off of the polished metal and hangs limply at her side. Perhaps it was reality beginning to set in, or perhaps it was the exact opposite, but Jazz seems disconnected, and very unstable. She plops softly to the ground, hugging her knees and rocking forward and back fitfully while staring off into the distance with wide, empty eyes partially covered by locks of her dark hair that she doesn't bother to move.

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
Jason
Stabbing the knife at the wall one more time, Jason turns back to the table.
"Alright, I've come to a couple of conclusions, which lead me to another conclusion. Correct me if I'm wrong, Karnethay. Conclusion one. You brought in a fairly odd set of people here, and a band. You dismiss the band after one song. Therefore, you didn't care about the band, just one person in it. That person is part of the odd group you wanted here." Jason walks back to the table, looking everyone over.
"Conclusion two. You don't act horribly shocked that we can't get out of the room, you don't panic when the doors don't open. You don't raise an eyebrow when I ask to attempt to carve my way out of the walls. Hell, you don't seem to be surprised when the walls don't even scratch. Ergo, you expected this to happen."
Jason holds the knife up, looking around, then back to Karnethay, before closing with him, still holding the knife. "Conclusion three, which the first two lead me to. You caused this. Why, I still don't know. But either you let us out, with those keys you have for internal doors, or I start looking through you for them."
Jason's voice holds an edge of desperation at the end of his comments.

Re: Black Campaign Episode 1; What do you wish?
OOC:
Spoiler
At Karnathey's insistence to not answer, Jason shrugs and drives the knife through his eye, instantly ending his life.
In the shocked silence, Jason grabs two more knives, throwing them at the other men in the room.
Once they are dead, he pulls the knife out of Karnathey's skull, kills Julie and Jazz, and then commits hari kiri.
The end.
