Six AM. Location is on the chip. Even with all the fancy non-detection gear the room is undoubtedly being shielded by, Johnson is obviously taking as few chances as possible of a leak.

It's currently 9:15PM. Those of you who need 8 hours of sleep might want to get heading home pretty soon.

“Yes, I do think that’s all then. Probably time for us to leave for now. Things to prepare. Stuff to get. It would be appreciated if you transfer the up front payment now, so that we can prepare ourselves as soon as possible.”
Marco had no real idea yet what it was he needed to prepare, besides making sure they had transport, and get his piece and some sleep.

"Love to stay and chat, but I'm afraid I really must be heading home for my beauty sleep." Circe absently sneers at a speck of dirt that got caught under her immaculate nails. "Need to be bright and chipper for the early morning." Circe leaves, muttering that she will have to spend the night by herself instead of with some man-candy. "I'll be ready in the morning."

Done. You'll get the rest when the Job's done. Johnson stays sitting at his desk until everyone else has gone. After that, he stands up and makes his way out back.

Once the Johnson transfered the money, Trail stands and nods his head toward the man. Offering his arm to Circe to escort her out, he subvoicalizes over the comlinks to everyone on the team. [["That went reasonably well. We need to come up with a plan an we only have a short time to do so."]]

The huge troll heads towards the exit, subvocalizing as he goes.

[[Marco, you worry too much. Odds are higher I'll get made hacking the local security than that anybody's trying to set us up here and now. Too public.]] Nell doesn't bother with goodbyes, since she hardly attaches any significance to the physical parting.

[[I'm going to look up the backgrounds on this thing.]] Nell heads home, walking and taking public, her mind deep in the Matrix. She calls Anca, her room-mate, and asks her about any rumors regarding hijackings or other incidents in the intersections the shipments were attacked at; and she drops a note to Kolotov, the corp, with a neat package containing all her recorded data and observations on the Johnson (including face gestalts, voice patterns, and the tag of the node: SF0126), asking for help with an ID on both the man and his company.

After this is all done, she sets an Agent to trawl the entire Matrix for pictures, and compare the Johnson's face to any and all it can find. Nell doesn't even bother waiting to get home before she starts working on a little program to solve the team's communication security issues for the foreseeable future. The entire time, she's chatting with the rest of the team

Anca's Connection is 1, and she's got Charisma 3 (the standard squatter has 2, but that includes a -1 for being an Ork, according to Contacts and Adventures) and Local Area Knowledge 4.

Kolotov's got Connection 4, Charisma 7 (5, +2 for being an Elf; I think the core book contacts are all humans?), Corporate Rumors 6, and Data Search 3.

The Agent has Pilot 3 and Scan 3 for the data search. I think those are the relevant ones? Does face-matching require specialized software?

Nell will also be starting work on the Vernam encryption protocol I mentioned. It should be very easy - she doesn't need to write any complex mathematical algorithms, just one that applies the randomly-generated key to a plaintext. With some existing self-written programs and the help of Warezhouse 24 (Connection 10, Loyalty 5), this should probably be pretty easy, but I don't really know what the treshold and interval would be.

There is one possible snag: can Nell's Response 5, System 4 commlink handle generating true random numbers? IRL, "random number generators" on regular computers are pseudorandom, generating strings of millions of numbers that will eventually repeat themselves (which would make the Vernam cipher computationally vulnerable, which is unacceptable). I don't see why high-end computers (Response is sheer computational power, which is what you need) 65 years from now wouldn't be able to do it, though. If this is possible, true random number generators should be available through the Matrix, especially through Warezhouse 24. Nell will, naturally, share the protocol on the network once it's written (since this doesn't detract from the security of the random encryption).

I'm not really expecting her to complete it tonight, even though she's probably going to be up all night researching and coding (with a power-nap and caffeinated drinks).

Tell me in the OOC thread if I need to make rolls, and which rolls and what tresholds, and I'll do it all there...

Marco grimaces at nell’s comment, then again she didn’t know what happened before he crossed the pond. He sighs and heads for he bar for one last drink. Then, before ordering something hits his mind. [[Guys, anybody have a car? Else I’ll need to backseat one of those bikes you guys had.]]

Long gone in meatspace, Nell's icon - a twisting Clifford torus textured with old-style analog TV noise - pops up on the other runners' AR. [[The pen is mightier than the sword. That's "command line" and "rocket-propelled grenade" in modern lingo, I guess. I've got enough range on my baby to hack a plane out of the sky. If we're just dealing with a bunch of punks, I can punch through their firewalls no prob, and just drive them off the road. I'll along - easier to run ECM-ECCM that way, you know? But I'll need some hard cover if I'm going to be virtual the whole time.]]

Nell pulls up maps of the areas and plots the probable course.

Cause I find ‘rigger dwarf’ or ‘elf chick’ somewhat stereotyping.]]

It doesn't take all that long before it's time to meet the truck. Seems to take even less for those of you who chose to sleep. The morning today is cold, somewhat dark and somewhat foggy. Distant foghorns sound as you wait on the dock, and stacks of containers are visible only as looming shadows in the mist.

A bell clangs nearby, and by the sound of the whirring crane motors, you can tell a boat is being unloaded somewhere nearby.

Arriving 20 minutes early, Grawlin quietly watches for the rest of the crew.

Circe

Circe shows up on time, but no one could see her until she willed it. Her astral form was her choice for this mission, her real body sitting comfortably inside her apartment. Her astral form was buzzing with activity, with her long hair being blown by a slight breeze, her dress billowly, and her feet non existant. She looked like a ghost when she manifested, which she did.

Early in the morning Trail wakes up and goes looking for a face. Hitting several social networking site until he finds a target that his nanos can work with. Pulling up the 'personal' information that came with it he had an identity to go with it. Loading up a skillsoft Trail programs in the new face.

Once it is good enough Trail grabs his stuff and heads out. With his new face and bulker clothes he seems to be a blond haired, blued eye human. He knew Nell would reconize his comlink and Circe his aura... The rest... well hopefully they wouldn't shoot first.

In his disguse he rides up to the meeting spot on his bike.

Arriving at the scene walking, Marco had travelled the bigger part of the way with public transport. Slung over his back was a big sporting bag, not hard to gues what sort of stuff would be in there for a runner. Covering roughly the same practical clothing as yesterday Marco now also wears a thick jacket, probably armoured.

Zipping open the bag Marco pulls out a utility belt containing multiple pockets and dangling a few devices. Then he takes out a compact assault rifle, the muzzle covered by a silencer. He checks a few levers and inserts a clip. Then he puts the gun bag into the bag. “Lets not attract to much attention immediately.” He pulls up the sleeve of his left arm revealing a somewhat ugly cybernetic arm. Taking a much smaller clip from his belt he interests it into a hidden slits in his arm then puts the sleeve back down.

Taking a single glance at the bike he gives a grin. “hey, nice disguise elf boy. But you might consider switching rides if you really want to look like somebody else.”

The disguised elf doesn't answer Marcus right away. Instead he scans the area with his vision and hearing enhancements. Only if he is reasonably sure he is secure does he respond.

He speaks softly, "I am well aware of the many limits and holes in what I am trying. Some are because of limited finances, other are mission requirements. But by far the biggest one that I have no control over is. People who should know better, choosing to blab it out to anyone that might take the pains to be listening. Thus turning suspicions into certainty."


Trail was reasonably certain that Marcus hadn't given anything away, yet. Still Marcus's somewhat condensing 'help' and 'advice' grated.

“yea, and nell calls me jumpy. Seriously tough, it’s a matter of priority and interest. Those who could have heard either don’t care or don’t have any use for the information and no idea how to find anybody who has. Or they are already watching us with a reason and they probably are going to get past your disguise one way or the other. But its good for you that you at least wont be spotted for who you are, should somebody get some picks of us or the like. Anyhow, talking about flashing your cards, lets start getting a load out of who’s doing what. We can assume that they will be getting at us from one or more vehicle’s, tough we cant exclude a inside traitor job by the driver. I have my assault rifle and the small popper in my arm is loaded with ex-ex rounds. Nell said she probably would be able to hack a car. So what do you all have?”

The loud rumble of an motor precedes the arrival of Ozzy astride his resized motorcycle, a bow across his back.

"Uhh, did I miss something?"

Someone's foghorn goes off, and one of the cranes further down the dock whirs into action. It's hard to see what's going on down there, but it isn't long before powerful headlights cut through the fog, and a large truck rolls up beside the group. The side of the container on the back is emblazoned with Pacific Trucking's logo.

An Ork leans out of the driver's side window, one hand on the wheel, and looks at you guys. I'm guessing you guys are the escort.

Turning the full force of his personality on to the Ork truck driver he says, "Yes." Then he follows up with a question of his own, "Can one of us ride shotgun with you?"
