Default Hey, having problems with avatar

    Hi guys.

I'm having problems getting the avatar I've made to show up looking half decent.

I'm using Macromedia Freehand to make the avie, and am exporting it into GIF format. The size I've uploaded to my photobucket account is very close to the size called for on the boards, but no matter what I've tried the image winds up looking jagged and fuzzy on the boards.

    Any help would be awesome.

Here's my photobucket file, in case anyone is curious:

This is your problem. that does, in fact matter.

The algorhythms that browsers use to resize graphics SUCK if it's not resizing by halves ( 50%). Your image is 156 x 156 and is being displayed at 117 x 177. The image looks fine when viewed at 100%. You need to use a better program to resize your image to 117 x 177.

There is a topic dedicated to solving this problem. You can find it here.

There is a free program that you can download to help resize. Just read the posts to find out where and how to download.

actually, that topic doesn't specifically discuss the importance of setting the image size (tho, I'm sure I went on and on about it on another thread somewhere), just about how to set it. soemtimes I figure it's easier to answer these things.
