Actually, I'm not wholly sure about the difference between public and private. Privates are smaller and can be more selective; publics all have the word "state" in them, or else the state's name. Also, they're easier to get into.

Yeah. 50 thousand. For four years. It sucks big time.
In the US, University refers to a collection of colleges and college refers to a specific school of study. Example: One can go to the University of Utah, which is composed of a college of humanities, a college of education, a college of social sciences, and ect.. To get a degree in English, one would go to the college of humanities within the University of Utah. Usually, people use the terms interchangeably.

The difference between public and private is that private schools tend to be smaller and more expensive. Whether that translates into quality is hard to say.

Has she been in any fights recently?
Our cat had some vicous brawls with the one across the street and got injured pretty badly. She started vomitting blood and they decided she had punctured her lung or something and put her down.
You can still help her, provided you've identified it early and are getting her to a Vet very quickly.

No she hasn't. She's just old and has long - stand auto - immune problems which normally present as scars on her skin.
And it wouldn't help anyway as there's no vet within forty or more miles open any night, let alone a weekend one (even the local surgery's only open for three hours on a weekend) so we're just hoping it's not too dangerous.

GRRR. For the past week I've had this little spasm in my lower left eyelid, where it just goes *twitch twitch twitch* intermittently throughout the day. It's not obvious enough to be noticeable unless I get RIGHT up close in front of the mirror, but it's DRIVING MY CRAZY! My mom says she gets it too when she's tired. SIGH.
