Godzilla: Clash of the Titans

[Ascension]

Gryllodon sighs with relief... or does the closest thing to a sigh a giant monster cricket can... as the lizard-bird flies away. Another assault from his flying foe might have finished him.

He realizes now that he is not invincible... there are other creatures out there who can match him in strength, perhaps even exceed him in strength.

He is not alone.

He hops weakly away from the ruined city, hoping to find somewhere he can hide and lick his wounds.

Flames and molten metal quickly engulfed Ruin, who remained eerily still and silent throughout the ordeal. Under the sustained assault of his metal adversaries, his position became entirely obscured by the resulting inferno...

Suddenly the behemoth charged from his fiery encasement directly at his new assailant. Howling like a demon, he tackled Gamma through a nearby warehouse. Upon breaching the far side of the structure, he released a second salvo of modified tank rounds at point blank range: 54 explosive shells blasted his opponent a full 3 city blocks and into the side of another building. Noticing the pursuit of several drones, Ruin once again violently shed his burning outer layer of armor, filling the air around him with scraps of molten metal plating.

It was then that his right leg buckled and snapped at the middle, it's support structure too heavily damaged by the two-pronged attack. Keenly aware of his increased vulnerability from losing his outer shell, the junk giant began jamming pieces of the otherwise-useless appendage onto his chest and back where they could at least replace some of his lost armor. Ruin then quickly hobbled into the remains of the warehouse, collapsing the gaping hole in the side with a mere tap of his free hand.

Gamma

Gamma quickly moved its flamethrower in between it and Ruin’s tank cannons. The blast completely destroyed its arm. As it pulled itself from the wreckage holes in its chest plate began to spark a bit as its flamethrower fell to the ground. After a few seconds the stump of its arm jerked and three long claws shot out of it. Gamma’s used its new found arm to pick up the flamethrower, as it pressed down on the trigger the flamethrower started to smoke and give off electricity. With a toss Gamma threw it in the direction of Ruin, as it made contact the overloading device blew up in a huge fire ball.

Sealed within the collapsed skeleton of the warehouse, Ruin turns as Gamma's flamethrower explodes against the warehouse wall, sending violent shockwaves throughout the ruined structure. Knowing that he doesn't have much time before his assailants break through, the titan retreats further into the heart of the junk heap, even digging below ground some. With blinding speed, the submerged kaiju builds himself an entirely new leg.

Satisfied with his repairs, Ruin decides that he could use a bit more body mass. A relentless cacophony emanates from the collapsed warehouse as the concealed giant incorporates as much nearby debris as he can into his growing body. Even as his enormous arms indiscriminately scoop tons of material towards his hulking frame, he can feel the mysterious force within him specifically targeting a few undamaged crates of electronic equipment and gently pulling them into his body. Ruin instinctively trusts that it will fashion him a suitably deadly weapon.

It always does.
