Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
Okey, I was way off.
But it does kinda confirm that he's getting his powers from the eye dimenson.
And he's drawing his powers from hell.
Bad art aside, I'm actually curios now.
The monologue about how Celesto knows what TIM wants and such... Was never spoken to TIM, who we expected to be after a mundane artifact.
Celesto is fighting The Giant Eye itself, which has possessed the mortal body of TIM and come to consume the entire world, forcing Dominia and the Tentacle Dimension together forever!
Celesto is looking for the knockout on Cthulhu!~ CAUTION: May Contain Weasels ~

Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
For some reason, when I saw todays
strippanel I thought "Huh, kinda looks Luna." Then I realized that TIM doesn´t, in fact, look much like Luna, and I´m now confused as to why that was my initial impresion ...
But there is definitely something girly about him now.Cats have nine lives; they can afford to get killed by curiosity

Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
It's the ponytail. You've got a monster who has been mutated by a realm of eldritch horror and lost all sanity to the point that now he only speaks in angry scratches, wearing only the tattered rags of the cloth he had when he was sent to the insane dimension; but he's still self-conscious enough to get a nice hairdo.
That said, the interesting detail here is the boot. Apparently, he somehow found a way to replace his missing gauntlet with a matching boot.Last edited by Gez; 2008-11-09 at 09:17 AM.

You know, I actually cringe whenever I look at today's comic.
Is it just me or does the infernomancer's face just look wrong?

Apparently, he somehow found a way to replace his missing gauntlet with a matching boot.
Also, TED-fueled-TIM has to be the least threatening looking villain EVER. I honestly can't think of anything lamer right now.

I'm seconding the Leela thing. This may actually be the least scary thing I've ever seen.
As, apparantly, are a number of the Livejournal fans.

Wow the other dimension really messed with TIM's body. I mean, look at his hand! It's a nub! Yet, he is still able to hold things properly. Truly mind warping indeed.

Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
So, uhh... can anyone explain to me why, exactly, Mookie thought this new design for TIM would be somehow superior (or equal. Or at least remotely in the same league) to either the tentacle-eyes or TIM's original look?

Mookie said today's strip would be "eye opening!" Get it? Bwahahahaha...
Because, he has one EYE, and it's OPEN!

Tim was much scarier with just the blindfold or the bloody eye sockets. And the tentacley arms are just ridiculous.

Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
Not quite the technical art failure this time.
However this page, is like when one of those bad horror movies where instead of freaking you out, the monster is just so stupid makes you laugh, only this isn't quite that good.
It is just stupid.

Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
I think the Leela face is more intimidating because it says "I'm going to kick your butt and you know it" rather than "BLARGARARARHAHAHAHA BZARAHALHDFLJK ADSLFHALDKFJ I LIKE CHICKEN.... ALSO CYCLOPEAN."
How the heck did he fit all that hair under this hood?
And I KNEW it! HE HAD TWO EYES when he was first shown returning (That or his one eye started on the left side of his face then slowly grew to take over).
Another oddity, compare this to this. I guess Dominic didn't actually see Siggy possessing Scarlatti's friends, otherwise he either forgot or is just being a jerk. Probably just being a jerk.
Edit: I don't think I edited my post enough times, so I'm doing it one more time.Last edited by Monnock; 2008-11-09 at 02:17 PM.

Re: Dominic Deegan, thread VI, Wyrd Snarksters
Another little nitpick for the pile.
See that boot on TIM's right foot? If he stands up straight, let alone leans forward on that foot, that spike is going to impale his shin to his shoe.

You know...for the first time since this whole arc started I am impressed. Though I'm aware how much in the minority I am, just looking at TIM is...creepy as hell.
