Re: Carn: Islands of Despair.
(Sorry for triple post but I am Back!)
The artificer shoots a blast of arcane energy from his crossbow that rips the skeletons at G1 and H1 into peices.
The swordmage finnaly strikes a blow, cutting off the skeletons swordarm... but the arm magically reataches itself. Held together by the shadows. The skeletons response is quick and vicious dealing with a cut accross the swordmages leg dealing 8 damage and marking it.
The bat was barely glanced by the wizard bolt of acid but even that glancing blow was enough to get the thing to screatch out in pain. The artificer looks at it and quickly realizes it is a shadowhunter bat, a native to the shadowfell, the creature feeds off of the shadows...a theme that doesn't bode well right now. the bat makes a big sweeping arch flying past the wizard, slashing at him with his bladed tail dealing 15 points of damage, before circling up the mast perching at the top of the mast in order to heal its wounds.(mast is 30ft tall)
Another bat drops down on top of the mintour and begins to slash at him with its tail but the mintour swats it off and it flys over to k1
The skeleton at S1 jumps down the hole... the skeletons at DD4 and EE4 move to R7 and S2 respectively. the skeleton at 58 charges the paladin moving to I8 but the shifter noticed it on time and blocks its claws with his sheild.
The crewmen who until recently had the helm shifts away to C5 and the captain takes his spot...the captain tries to make attacks against the skeleton but can't seem to land a blow.
The boat shifts again sending everyone flying: The sword mage falls backword catching itself at precipece of the stairs at D2. The artificer lands at M1, the only saving him from falling of the ship is the railing. Both the wizard and the palidan are pushed upward to J5 and J6. Iarsa who actualy has sea legs though manages to catch her self.
RTG PLEASE POST OR I WILL SKIP YOU.Last edited by drackcove; 2008-11-07 at 03:37 PM.

Re: Carn: Islands of Despair.
Tel
Standing up from his fallen state, Tel strikes again at the Skeleton near the rear of the ship and lets Erolien make a quick tactical move.
SpoilerI didn't see you mention that the skeleton at A4 was ever killed (though our friendly neighborhood swordmage AND Paladin both hit it). I'm gonna go ahead and use wolf-pack tactics to let Erolien shift one square.
Acrobatics (just in case): 1d20
Using wolf-pack tactics against Skeleton A4:
Attack: (1d20+5)[19] vs. AC
Damage: (1d10+3)[5] damage
Effect: Erolien shifts one square as a free action.
OOC:

(ooc: The Paladin never hit it. he was never on that part of the map.)
The Mintour's attack with his glaive pinning the skeleton down long enough to allow the Swordmage to reposition himself.

Updated Map
(OOC: This is what I was able to come up with for all the new moves. But I think I'm missing something here, as Tel's actions seem to not jive with the location I have for him here. Can you all please post any corrections?)

Re: Carn: Islands of Despair.
Thanald HP: 6/21 (Bloodied) AC:15, F:10, R:14, W:14
Thanald reels from the bat's attack, but quickly gathers himself for the next attack. Seeing the bat perch at the top of the mast, he gestures towards the mostrosity and a Magic Missile springs from his fingers.
Spoiler
I'm expending an action point to make a healing surge that will bring my HP up to 11. (Might need some healing from our friendly neighborhood Paladin, though...)
Here are the rolls for my Magic missile attack (Int vs. Reflex):
Attack - (1d20+4)[8]
Damage - (2d4+4)[7]
Yeesh....what is up with these rolls?

SpoilerOops, yeah, I just realized that the "H" on the map was, in fact, NOT "Haymar."
Also, Ron, if it helps, I've got reach, so I can actually attack that skeleton from two squares away. That help you?The Playgrounder Formerly Known as rtg0922

Yup, rtg -- I think all is well. I thought your glaive would give you the range you need. So it would appear that the map and your actions are all in good agreement. You agree, Drackcove?

Re: Carn: Islands of Despair.
the wizards spell blasts of a bit of wood but the giant winged rat seems fine. That Bat flies over and begins to circle the other mast...
The Palidans attack goes off smoothly and cuts the skeleton in half (ooc yes k8 was destroyed last time.)
The artificers sends a wave of infernal heat that burns the bat that its flying towards hims...it does not seem happy. Its response is swift but in the artificer dodges its scythe like tail and it flies past, circling around ending in F7.
The swordmages attacks while good are not adequate enough to harm its undead enemy. In the fight the skeleton manages to slam its swords pommel in the swordmages stomach dealing 7 points of damage and maintaining a mark.
Iarsa attack misses but she keeps well away from the return blows.
The two skeletons in the R column move to flank the artificer, Iarsa gets an attack of opportunity on on of them. One will be at p2 the other p4. Neither one manages to get a claw on him though.
Rtg your turn again.

Re: Carn: Islands of Despair.
Tel
Seeing the hellbat flying around down on deck, Tel moves to try to destroy the villainous foe and calls out some inspiring words to Erolien.
SpoilerGoing ahead to move on to E7 to provide some flanking, then attack the bat with some warlord's favor.
Attack: (1d20+5)[8] vs. AC (+2 if Haymar's move went in first)
Damage: (2d10+3)[9] damage
Effect: Haymar gets a +4 power bonus to attack rolls against the bat until the end of my next turn.
If anyone happens to be really hurt within 5 squares of me, tell me and I can use my remaining minor action to use inspiring word.
Minor Action: Using inspiring word on Erolien.

Re: Carn: Islands of Despair.
Azerkth hurls vials of reagents into the midship area, and channels arcane energy into the liquids. Clouds of acid rise up, corroding the skeletons within.
"Back away from the clouds quickly, Iarsa! They can burn you as well!"
He than move in the opposite direction, closer to the bat.
Spoiler
Standard: Caustic Rampart in squares N1, Q2, P2, P3, and P4.
No attack roll needed: any creature in or adjacent to the wall will take 1d6+4 damage at the start of their turn. Including Iarsa, but she unlike the skeletons can survive it. Also, It's 2 squares high, difficult terrain, and lightly obscured.
Damage:
Skelly N1: (1d6+4)[8]
Skelly P2: (1d6+4)[6]
Skelly P4: (1d6+4)[8]
Iarsa: (1d6+4)[9] (sorry, but I'm hitting three skeletons too.)
Move: to H4, (1d20)[17] Acrobatics.

SpoilerWait, forget the wall coordinates I gave before. It hits adjacent enemies too, so the squares should be Q1, P1, P2, P3, P4. Everything but Iarsa takes the damage.

The Minotaur's attack, while not incredible lethal, pins the bat, giving the shifter perfect opportunity to make his attack.
