Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Inches? Try having to go to school in a foot of snow. And snow is nothing, just wait until you are in your first Ice storm. An inch of solid ice covering everything while trees literally explode because the sap in them has frozen solid.
"Hmmm, I wonder how the storm is going?"
*steps outside*
KRACKBOOM!!!
"Ooooo...."

Snow? Snow? Did someone say snow?
Whenever my school lets out early for snow, we have a gigantic 3-neighborhood snowball fight, Woodbrook vs. Carrsbroook vs. Still Meadow.
...vs. ALLEN. (...Who is no longer a freshman... who will we gang up on this year?)

My school has let out for a 50% chance of snow before. And... there was nothing.
(...I think that was the day I went and got my driver's permit... Because normal people still had to be at work and they weren't making massive lines at the DMV. I got through in an hour. :D)

My school let out one day becuse there was a high chance of a major blizzard. There was none. The next day we had to come to school. Guess what? 12+ inches.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
I had to write a response essay for my criminal justice class on a career day.
My question is this. Is this too sarcastic? It is my response though.
Spoiler
Criminal Justice Career Day
In my personal opinion, the career day held for the Criminal Justice program, was actually pretty decent. The main thing that really sticks in my mind was the police segway that was there. Besides, being really cool, I had one question that popped into my mind after seeing it. Why would anyone take me seriously if I had to go around town driving that thing? I’m pretty sure that segways can move at a decent speed, but I think the criminal would just end up stopping because he would be laughing too hard. This is just my personal opinion though. For all I really know, felons could take segways really seriously*.
* Officer: “Sir! Put your arms on your head and lay face down on the ground!”
Criminal: “Yes sir. Please don’t run me over.”

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Jeez I wish we had snow here, the only place to get it is up in the mountains, and that's quite a few hours drive. Course where we used to live we got out of school for about 4 inches or so, because snow was so uncommon that it was a really nice treat. It was pretty fun to be at school though with snowball fights an option during break.

*Cue Jaws Theme*
And after that weekend, I henceforth refuse to do any homework today.
Instead, I shall spend it perfecting Skullcrusher Mountain on Rock Band and dealing with the soon to be a nervous breakdown that is Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise.
Seriously. The game is ridiculously complicated, and yet makes me love all my pinatas so much that I could never think of stopping now I've started.
Oh, and they're all named Dave, or a variation of Dave.
Replacement Dave the Pretztail keeps falling asleep on the train tracks. Maybe Dave the Geckie is always ridiculously happy, though he seems to be on a bit of a downer lately. Dave As Well the Mousemallow is having his life threatened by at least three or four things, as is Green Dave the Whirlm. No Longer Evil Dave the Shellybean regrets ever joining, while Victory Dave the Sherbat wonders when he'll ever get out on the racetrack again. Then there's Fancy Dave the Pengum who is incredibly demanding and complicated and I need to get him a mate. And framing all of this is me the gardener wishing there was some option to woo Petula.
And if you understood all that, congratulations, you're just as crazy as me.

That sounds even more convoluted that the one occasion when I attempted to run a plot in HALO. Can you pick other names for them?

"Top Gear" last night rocked. Woe unto those who did not have the good fortune to see Jezza's latest Porsche review (transcript follows: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! AGH! AAAAAAAAAGH!!!"), multiple choice commentary on the Grand Prix Championship, Michael Parkinson on the couch, the lads' various preciouses (drum kit, grand piano, Oliver) get squished by flaming lorries, and Clarkson drive through a brick wall.
"Some say...he had sex with Russell Brand's answerphone. All we know..."
Jezza = General Zod, and all should kneel before him.
I suspect Phase succumbed to the viagra-bot virus two sentences from the end of his 'meteorological woes' post.

I've only been free for snow once, and that was when we had so much snow that the traffic stood still in the entire southern half of country, the railways were massively disrupted, and more such fun.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
It was glorious. I also only found out about it at six o'clock. *cues excited squeal* I was laughing so hard during the lorry chalenges because my dad drives one and I knew a fair bit about how they were screwing up - beyond the nearly destroying their preciouses, setting fire to their trailers and losing/destroying their cargo. And the driving through brick walls. And the power sliding.

Gonna love this series. Wonder if they'll do a segment on the new Aston Martin?

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
I feel so inadequate now; I've only left one message for the next family to live here and it's so easy to find.
I want a house like that.
*covets*
I've just listened to Love of My Life for the fifteenth time in a row and I'm not quite sure why. I also know that I immediately forget I listened to Don't Stop Me Now within seconds of it finishing. It took me fimes and me actually writing in a Word doc that I'd listened to it to convince me I had.
I have also realised that I like guys with long hair, providing long hair suits them.

Great part of having your own place, you can take steps to make it look like anything you want.
I can't wait to piss off my neighborhood association
Edit: I just realized that the phrase "Piss off my neighborhood association" might be a much stronger phrase in Europe than America. I'm not stepping on any toes am I? Just for future reference...Last edited by TwoBitWriter; 2008-11-03 at 12:14 PM.

Piss of is generally seen as pretty offensive round my place, but the offensiveness of loans from English differs hugely between cities. And I wouldn't even know what it's like in Colony Stealin' Land.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Eeeehhhh, what's a neighbourhood association when it's at home?
Me, I don't see anything offensive or strong about that statement; and I think most Britishers wouldn't care either. Then again, we're all cynical people who freely use words (outside out parental/child hearing) that are seen as offensive to Americans and possibly Canadians.
Our slang term for cigarette, bar 'ciggie' over your side of the ocean is an offensive term for a homosexual, but most Britishers who smoke use it rather than any other word.
So, nothing strong in that phrase for us anyway. Might be different for others though.
