"Hm... what is a furry animal of this composure doing in a cave?" the monk says out loud (He seems to have a habit of that), "From what I recall, sloth-like things don't go well hanging to the top of..."

Here he catches himself as a grin spreads across his face, "Hey Maelous, there is a top to this thing!" and turns to the Gypsy craning his neck, grin dropping faster than that water droplet earlier.

    "Uh, not good?"

Well, I be not saying that our friend be going to a bad place, but something had to toss that... whatever it is... down here, and it be finding our friend just as he be most inconveniently trying to be climing up.

I tink... I tink dis hole go all de way up. It looks... greyer up dere, not so black. May be light from his lantern, but may be outside. If nothink hurts out friend, we may well be able to get rope down here to climb up. Maybe. It better dan stayin' here, anyways.

Tristan reaches ever greater heights, some 200 feet above his companions... then 250. Because of the lantern swinging about him, he does not see the distant point of light Maelous mentioned. It is too high or too faint for his unadjusted eyes to catch.

His own light becomes a mere pinpoint above the others.

Out of sheer boredom, Craeldon saunters over to a wall, uses his rope to tie a throwing knife to his quarterstaff and twirls around his impromptu spear in a attempt to learn to use it.

Using a throwing knife, the quarterstaff and some rope and making an "Improvised Spear" and adding an Improv. Weapon skill.
Can you add below how much rope I have left and add anything not on the "Spear's" stats?

Also, I've fixed the ATK dice for all the weapons (Doesn't having a core skill in it make the ATK 3d6 and side make it 2d6? Because I had Boxing as core, thrown and touches as side).

For the spear, if made from a standard staff it is a shortspear, so it has the same properties as basic weapoins - melee & 1H. However I'll rule you can also use it 2H if you prefer (seems likely). So, 1H or 2H, but make sure I know which one you're using.

Also, I noticed on your fist attack you have the rapid option listed as atk 3d6/3d6. That's right, except that both of those attacks needs to be divided in half when rolled - 3d6/2, 3d6/2. Otherwise all looks good.

Let's say the rope was 50' to start with. I'd say you still have 45' left.

Also, be aware that the Improvised Weapons skill gives you dice in using an improvised weapon (a chair, a punch bowl, etc - and certainly a weapon you're unfamiliar with like you spear, so that's fine). But it gives no dice in crafting weapons. Your spear-making skill by default is 1d6, and I'll assume you take mean for 3. For purposes of wear and tear or damage to the spear, that's the number I'll use.

The group climbs for what seems an eternity. By pausing often on tiny ledges or wedging yourselves into wide crevices, you can take occasional breaks and let your limbs rest. Even so, the intense pain in your arms, legs and abs reminds you of how long you've been climbing in the timeless dark of the cave.

You are further hampered by the disintegration of your shoes, pant legs, and robe hems. It's as if something has eaten right through the fabric. Whatever it is didn't stop there; your feet begin to itch and sting. (Tristan will recognise this as the same feeling in his hand, but much more severe.)

After some four hours Tristan sees a dark spot on the edge of his lantern light. Scrambling up a little higher reveals it to be a side passage that justs off from the vertical shaft. Nothing can be seen within.

Soon the whole party catches up and clings to the rock wall, staring into the cave.

Tristan will untie the lantern and hand it to the monk, and then pull himself up and slink off into the shadows in the cave.

Sorry about that guys. It'sa hard coming up with this stuff with no rulebook to guide me

Tristan heas into the cave, finding it to be more of a crack in the bedrock than a smooth passage. The floor is narrow and, at some points, there is no floor at all - the walls simply come closer and closer together until, eventually, they seam together in a foot-crunching V.

At head height the cave is wider, sometimes with shelves running along one or both sides. It's no more than seven or eight feet hight.

As he gets in deeper, it begins to widen out, but that is where the light of the lantern behind him fails. If he goes any further without a light, it will mean total blindness.

((This is a point where considered doing a GM-forced "he goes back and gets the light" thing, to keep the ping rate low in the spirit of PbP. But, the question is whether the other two come with him, or hang back, which might make a difference - so, I guess I'll wait for people to follow up. Ping!))
