Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I think Keveak means Call of Cthulhu. I played Cthulhu d20 one time... It was hilarious. Basically, my doctor noticed a murderer enter the room with a gun. I grabbed a beer bottle and broke it against the man's back... Dealing a critical hit... Totaling about 6 damage.
The man was supposed to kill a man for the adventure, but we messed it up when my friend pulled out his chainsaw and chased the guy around. My brother attempted to shoot the man, but missed, and made a sleight of hand and bluff check. He then shouted, "That man has a gun!" To cover up the fact that he had shot his own. Anyway, we chased the man outside, and I called in the doctor mobile, a giant armored ambulance truck. We had a chase scene. I rammed their car with the doctor mobile, dealing heavy damage. My friend, as the truck was moving, jumped through the windshield, chainsaw on and drawn. He butchered the jump check, slicing his own body open with his chainsaw in addition to being hit by his own car. He took about 30 damage, which was around half of his total hitpoints. The chase scene ended with the man's truck skidding sideways. A man with a mounted turret began shooting at us. My brother picked off the machine gunner with his gun, and we then had to go to bed.
It was very Cthulhu-esque... Chase scenes, taking down an illegal mob, etc.
Also, Mechafox, I love Arby n' cheef! I know it's spelled 'Chief' :PThe artist formerly known as Tired N' Drowzy, master of puns.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Um, I actually haven't seen Arby & the Chief. I've seen Master Chief plays Halo, though. What reference did I apparently make?
Also, Lying, what combat capabilities does the Silan have?

The meme uses "Halo" while referring to Master Chief. It's part of the joke.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
One comic to rule them all and in the archives bind them?
It has the standard Sovice set (Resistance that improves with each attack, can reform if not substantially obliterated, etc.). The primary weapon of a Silan unit is it's bite. After that it can feign it's destruction and break apart into blocks.
They're really just designed for exploration.
I'm not sure I understand this. That Silan unit shouldn't know you, since it's from a separate group to the one that "employs" you.Last edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2008-11-18 at 07:02 PM.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Silan (As D&D 3.5 stats) models have a "Feign Death" ability. It means they break apart into their component blocks and appear, to all but the most scrutinising observer, to be "dead" (Because all Sovices break apart into inert blocks when destroyed). It's used to play possum, basically.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
So, the major political groups are:
A) Moon Elf Empire
B) Tajira-Helina-Sovice-Salmon-Pericle-Lockutas-Elves-Grand Tusk Plains-WhateverElseAlliance
C)Shizotec
D) Merinas and other far-off lands.
If I'm correct in this grouping, I believe that the grays are going to want to join with Shizotec. The grays have been enslaved both by the Moon Elves and other factions making up group B, and they want to fight back. I'll make a comic introducing the Gray Ambassador.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Darn, it seems everyone is against the grays here as well.
I'm sure Shizo hates the Moon Elves and the UNABR more than the grays. (Which I'm now naming the capital Taupe, a kind of gray)
Hmmm...
They may stay neutral ambassadors, but I'd rather take a side here.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Yeah. I origionally suggested Schitzotech as a way to explain the high-tech stuff people had been using in ABR, but it's since evolved. As the only Schizian in ABR currently (Well, Ven may count because he was built by Schizian engineers, and BRC was probably first summoned in ABRoy in schitzotech) I feel I should ask Mad-Mask for his comments on the Schitzian Timeline (rough).
During the Empire of Man, Schitzotech was already the empires industrial and technological center, they had the steam engine and were embarking on an industrial revolution. Feelings of "The rest of the empire is holding us back" were already high when they discover the stash of Pre-cataclysm Tech at the bottom of Mesa Canyon. The Schizians take this as proof that they should be independent and Rebel. They set up an isolationist society at this point, more out of pride an urge to remain independent then Xenophobia.
During the Age of Dragons, the first imperial invasion is easily repulsed due to a lack of intelligence (Both that the imperials knew almost nothing about Schitzian tech, and that the commander was an idiot). Deciding a millitary takeover would be too much work, the moon elves propose some negotiations with Schitzotech. The Schitzians bite, and the moon elves slip some skilled beguilers into the Schitzian government. The Beguilers have control over a few ruling council members when they are caught and the plot is exposed. This convinces the Schitzians that A) Even the mighty moon elf empire couldn't defeat them militarily, and B) That Outsiders are not to be trusted. Cue a massive upsurge in both national pride, as being the only nation to millitarily defeat the Moon Elves (Who were not really trying, the force they sent was meant to establish a beachhead and wait for reinforcements in they didn't surrender, not capture the nation themselves). And intense Xenophobia because the last time they gave outsiders any leeway, they got a bunch of beguilers trying to hijack the government.
Since then, they have conducted a policy of minimal external contact. A little trade with Blauport where their ships don't even dock and all contact with the outsiders is kept under close scrutiny by political officers.
Edit: Hmm, depending on the Grey's proposal (Such a meeting would be conducted holographicly, so as to avoid anythign sneaky), Schitzotech might agree to somthing. It would probably be a treaty of non-agression, anything more serious would require the grey's to prove their good intentions in some manner (Like letting Schitzotech put a nuke under Taupe that they can blow up at the first sign of foul play)Last edited by BRC; 2008-11-18 at 09:18 PM.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
The government of Shizotech hasn't interacted politically with the gray's (Let's face it, the were enslaved by many different nations and have just recently gained their freedom, recently being for a couple of generations. If The grays make an argument about how much they hate both the moon elves and the UNA, will Shizo ally with them?
EDIT: Ahh, read your edit. They would make a non-aggresion treaty. The grays however would not want a Taupe nuke under them, how about they would close off all of Gray's borders. The grays have lands simply because no one else wanted them. They are very infertile (The lands, not the people), so they need to trade to receive a lot of important supplies. The grays would have great trouble surviving, and would probably request to be assimilated into Shizo lands. I doubt they would agree to a nuke. Frankly, the grays don't have a strong military force, it wouldn't be too hard to occupy Taupe. They need to ally with a nation to survive.
OOH here's a thought, they were in an economic relationship with Blauport, however, after it was destroyed, they were forced to end it. Now they are seeking new allies at all cost.Last edited by Shades of Gray; 2008-11-18 at 10:27 PM.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
It's up to Mad Mask, but I would say they might be willing. If the Greys word it as a "We need your help" Schizotech would be open to an alliance. The UNA alliance proposition was more "Only together can we resist the new Moon Elf Empire", implying Schitzotech couldn't do it alone, which the Schitzians found insulting.
Besides, if push comes to shove, the Schitzians wouldn't mind having Greys die for them instead of Schitzians.

How about the grays live northeast of the Grand Tusk?
The capital is Taulpe, and they control very little area.
