4E shape the game

As the Elf rushes back into the grasses Ironshod decides to keep up with him by running as quickly as possible. With his extreme weight, armor and shield Ironshod knows that speed is better in lieu of stealth. Unfortunately just as he gets some momentum he has to stop short of colliding with Soveliss. After the elf's dramatic hammer throw, followed by Lolita's oh so subtle eldritch blasting, Ironshod begins to walk quickly around the trap and continue down the path, khopesh and shield at the ready.

Flint

As the group has marched along the trail, Flint has silently walked with Ironshod, finding an odd comfort in the iron man's quiet demeanor. He is so free of the concerns that have plagued Flint for so long that he calms Flint down in much the same way Soveliss does, though the two are complete opposites.

Flint readily goes along with Soveliss' plan and is not surprised at the elf's action. He has been around Soveliss for too long to have anything like that shock him.

Suddenly tension fills the air, and Flint strains his senses to figure out just what or who is attacking them and where they are coming from.

if it's not a path square it costs 2 squares of movement.
The grass/weed squares it not only costs 2 squares of movement, as it is difficult terrain, but also they provide cover... if 0-2 squares, it's -2 to attack, if 3+ squares -5 to attack....

You can negate this by making a DC 15 perception check to negate this one level down, or DC 20 to negate this completely..

Once you make that check it is set until next round and you can try to better it. If you roll worse, it won't get worse.

Out of no where, these small creatures appear and begin to slash and poke at the tiefling and the warforged. Two small creatures appear next to Ironshod and both are able to strike true upon the metal man, 16 damage. Then two crossbow bolts come from out of no where and strike Ironshod as well 13 damage. Four little creatures appear next to Lolita, fortunately for her, they aren't as good as the ones that attacked the metal man. Only two of them hit her, 10 damage.

Flint

Flint moves towards where the creatures are gathered, hoping to save Ironshod and the tiefling. As he moves he begins to whisper a healing prayer. That familiar light surrounds Ironshod, fixing the damage that had been done. Soon the light begins to fade and one hears the sound of Flint's voice saying, "Moradin, give me strength." As he finishes that sentence a burst of light shoots out from the holy medallion hung on his neck. The light sears his enemies, their screams filling his ears while his allies take strength and gain the energy to continue fighting.

Snarling an Elven curse, Soveliss fires, his hands blurring as a pair of arrows fly in nearly identical paths at the two crossbow-wielding creatures in the back. Slipping into the grass, he moves up behind Lolita, covering the injured tiefling's back, though she immediately moves away. Foregoing the reloading of his bow, Soveliss draws a dagger to prod at the back of one of the bandits menacing Ironshod.

Taking lots of losses the small creatures get a look of worry on there face. They don't seem used to fighting such aggressive individuals. All focusing on the large metal man, as the believe if they take down the largest the rest will give up. Only one of them is as lucky this time, the Crossbow bolt strikes his dead on is his leg, 13 damage, Although he looks like he is about to give way and crumple over, he pulls through and is able to maintain himself.

Enveloping the crossbow wielder that is farther away with reddish mists, Lolita blasts him with eldritch power.

Unable to hold itself together from the eldritch stress, it drops to the ground. A swirling black substance seeps from all the doomed creature's orifices. As the spiraling mass gathers on top of the monster, Lolita smirks.

Moments later, the black mass swirls towards Lolita, further darkening the aura of spiraling dark patches that already surrounds her.

Drawing all the way back to the fletchings, he unloads into the face of the crossbow-wielder as it frantically tries to reload its weapon. Turning, he launches the other at the last creature near Ironshod.
