Default Re: The Tyranny of the Jedi (Alt KotOR Saga): The Mandalorians

West Kyramud did not do well aiming, only two attacks hit. However, one was a critical, and one of the misses gets a free reroll next round.
    Damage dealt:
    vs South Interdictor: 170+(3d10x5)[60] = 230
    vs Centurion: 520+(2d10x10)[20] = a disappointing 540 (seriously, two 1s in a row?)

The east Kyramud fared better, as all but one of its attacks hit cleanly.
    Damage dealt:
    vs West Interdictor: 1 attack of 170+(2d10x5)[55] = 225, 1 attack of 195+(1d10x5)[30] = 225, 1 attack of 240+(2d10x5)[45] = 285
    vs South Interdictor: 1 attack of 185+(2d10x5)[70] = 255, 1 attack of 280+(1d10x5)[5] = 285.
    vs Centurion: 145 damage.

For simplicity, all attacks are made assuming that the Centurion is 1 step along the condition track (-1 penalty to defenses, checks, and attack rolls) and the Interdictors are in top condition, and attacks made during the salvos do not affect the condition track until all attacks are resolved for this initiative count.

No, I'm not taking those into account. For simplicity's sake, we're using stat blocks as written unless you can point out to me an obvious error.

As for the Centurion, it's actually wasn't at -1 anymore, the crew made its roll to restore the condition. That's what I meant when I was talking about damage control leaping into action. But then your first Kyramud's crit puts it at -1 again, so anyway...

The Interdictors move forward to engage. They focus all their fire on your lead Kyramud, reasoning that if they take out the head, the rest shall follow.

The Interdictor in the lead just barely makes it within medium range for its turbolasers and it opens up with a blistering barrage.

Amazingly, despite taking massive damage to its bulkheads and shields, the east Kyramud took no damage to its primary systems. It is at 395 HP and 45 SR, and even the critical hit did not exceed its Threshold...

The Shuk'orok, however, is the west one, and is quite safe for now.
"Master Shan, we're under heavy fire, and could use the assistance of those Hammerheads. A couple of turbolasers either way could change this from a bloody victory to a rout... for either side."

Both Jehavs are at 830 with 70 SR, rolling to recharge shields...

Ten, to be precise. You destroyed ten Interceptors. For simplicity's sake I've eliminated the lead flight of six entirely and left an x on the next flight to mark it being reduced to two fighters.

It seems rather... un-Mandalorian... to send the other battleship in ahead of yours, O Mandalore, but I accept the situation as it stands at present.

The westernmost Interdictor is quite heavily damaged, but it manages to cling to life by a slender thread (and, surprisingly, it's only at -1, despite how close it is to destruction).

As the Centurion lurches forward its damage control teams manage to bring some semblance of stability to its systems, allowing it to work like new... even though it has been very obviously used and abused.

It unleashes the fury of all its heavy weapon batteries, targeting the lead Kyramud with its turbolasers and the lead Jehavey'ir with its ion cannons.

As the bulkheads continue to take massive damage, the east Kyramud is struck through a fuel line to the hypermatter reactor. As the hull begins to break apart, the stern explodes into a swift inferno, thrusting the shattered ship's pieces throughout the area.

In vengeance, the Shaadlars hop out from the shadow of the planet as the Shuk'orok advances with its weapons blazing. Something's going to die for this.

"Alright, Siit scum, you asked for it. Kir, take the helm. Everyone... let's get dangerous." ((If Kir does take the helm, then the remaining Kyramud would get the benefits of a higher Pilot check and Vehicular Combat...))

Uh... that's a lot of rolls, with amazingly only two 1s. It's gonna come back to bite me down the road, though.

Can we just say that the west Interdictor was destroyed without calculating the total damage? There's a lot of damage there. (8 hits, all over 100 damage, two criticals...)

The Centurion takes the following hits:
    190
    280+(4d10x10)[240]
    85+(2d10x5)[75]
    80+(2d10x5)[65]

    South Interdictor:
    240
    125
    140+(1d10x5)[40]
    145+(3d10x5)[125]

    East Interdictor:
    180

Yes Mandalore, Kir then quickly slides in to the helmsmen position.

(((Pilot check with kir at the helm is +8 )))

Okay, I'm just going to be completely honest with you.

I'm not enjoying GMing the two of you. I don't really like dealing with Mandalorians, and introducing them as major players in this campaign setting was a mistake... a mistake I thought was logical at the time, but still a mistake. You attract huge fights that are hard to run. You have little in the way of characterization, despite being recently vaulted into a position of truly intimidating power and responsibility. And out of frustration I've fallen into the trap I told myself I never would... vengeful GMing. This fight has been punishment from the beginning... originally you were supposed to win, but be forced to deal with administrative issues involving the planet and its shipyards, which I thought would be a fate worse than death for proud Mandalorian warriors, being reduced to mere administrators. But then I got mad after you started critting out the wazoo and decided to kill you, even breaking my own rules to unleash the Interceptors. And then when it looked like that wouldn't kill you quickly enough I decided to pressure you into retreating, followed by a challenge for your position as Mandalore due to your "cowardice." All of these ideas were shamefully spiteful on my part.

I've been a bad GM, but frankly, I don't think I'm capable of giving you the game you want to play. I'm not enjoying this at all, and I can't continue doing something I don't enjoy, not without reaping any benefit from it.

I'm sorry, but... I can't GM the Mandalorian portion of this campaign any longer. Goodbye. I hope you find a better GM in your next game.

Yes, I was... sensing that from you. I suppose it's partly my fault. The characterization could have been there, but wasn't, or wasn't consistent enough.

I am sorry your personal preferences have conflicted with mine, but I do not hold any grudges or malice against you. Farewell.

I'm sorry, but I have no way I'm happy with to work you back into the story at this time. I won't hesitate to contact you in the future if I think of something, though.

OK, and again thank you for a good game, and as you say I'm just a pm away.

also I'm not adverse to rejoining the other group with a new character.
