Re: The Fatal Syzygy - Sinners
The ghoul (now that I know it can actually do something) shambles quickly over to J7, and lunges at the guard, teeth bared, attempting to bite him/her. If the guard is dead, the ghoul will instead move to I9 and attack the Grey Cloaked figure.

Re: The Fatal Syzygy - Sinners
((Sorry! Somehow I missed that there had been a post. Darn subscriptions...))
Jackal
Quietly laughing to herself, Jackal darts past the pillars, saying something under her breath as she weaves a spell with her hands.
"A twister of twists once twisted a twist and the twist that she twisted was a three twisted twist. Now in twisting this twist, if a twist should untwist, would the twist that untwisted untwist the twists."
With a strange, twitching and twisting motion, Jackal spins a prismatic orb of colors between her hands, then wrenches it apart and flings the riotous shades at her enemies.
SpoilerMove to K 6.
Cast Color Spray over the Lumi, the Gray cloak, and the other guard. DC 17.
Also, as seen in the dice thread, Jackal heals nine and is up to 19 hp (or, well, I guess she gains some from the temporary con boost too?)Last edited by AmberVael; 2008-12-04 at 12:31 PM.

Re: The Fatal Syzygy - Sinners
The kobold can't seem to handle the sight of his fallen superior and then a hard punch. It runs off through the right doors. Anna and M'llanana attack the monitor lizard. Although the cat misses despite her flashy moves maneuvering around the kobold and the lizard, the human strikes true. The monitor hisses in pain, but his focus is on his unconscious companion. He tries to push Raarg aside to get to his master, but fails to move the water orc. It only allows M'llanana to get a successful attack in.
Gil's swing hits only air as the guard dodges deftly. The Jackal's spell affects both the guard and the Gray Cloak, stunning both of them. It allows Vaeris's summoned ghoul to hit its mark easily.
Amil just looks downright angry now. Not only does the Jackal's spell stops the Gray Cloak's chanting again, but he looks quite concerned with the quaking cavern. He draws a greatsword, but only threatens to use it. Instead he says, "It looks like we must finish this another time. I hope the Retrievers don't harm you too much when they collect you." He flashes the Jackal a vicious smile before casting a spell. Vaeris's undead manages to hit the Lumi one last time, but doesn't affect the completion of the spell. Amil and the Gray Cloak disappear from sight, leaving the guard stunned and paralyzed.
The cavern continues to shake, but now the ceilings and columns begin to rain down chunks of earth1.
Spoiler

Laughing to herself, Jackal starts dodging rocks as she runs towards the door that the woman and the kobolds escaped into, figuring they likely knew the best way out.

Re: The Fatal Syzygy - Sinners
Other than M'llanana and the monitor lizard, everyone else seems to think that running is a good idea. Their showdown results in a slightly more injured creature. Since the orc leaves the fallen Dark Talon shaman, the monitor stands over him, protecting him. Anna runs to the room where they had left the injured woman, scurrying past Vaeris. Seeing no one in the first room, she realizes that Vaeris is the injured woman.
Raarg is the first to see the sight, then the Jackal, then Gil, then finally Vaeris and the ghoul. They all see the same thing. The doors the woman ran through before leads into a smaller room, cluttered with more food garbage. There are trashed chairs and paintings that look like they could have been nice a long time ago. At the gaping open door that Raarg stands in front of is a small, darkened room with quite a sight. A gaggle of kobolds, about twenty of them, are pressed up against the far wall, all trying to escaping the lava-spewing opening widening in the middle of the room.
The four of you feel a presence run past you back into the grand hall. An invisible, female voice says, "Run! Run to the other side of the hall if you value your life!" With the sound of the voice trailing off, you see the mirage of fissure fade to black. And as if it had been planned by some sort of cosmic jokester, the very real tremors stop, and the rocks stops falling.
The paralyzed man is now on the ground, apparently brained by the debris surrounding his body.

Re: The Fatal Syzygy - Sinners
Jackal
Now Aisha loves to defy expectations, and would happily stay right where she was to show them just who was boss, but on the other hand, she's also not an idiot, and doesn't really think getting scorched by lava would do her any good. So she darts back out of the room and back the other way, chuckling wryly as she goes.
