Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
One that seems to be missing from the Immortals is Dave Arneson. Both he and Gary had memorial strips, and are "co-inventors" of D&D.
Thanks to Ceika (X2), Yeril, Holammer and Dr. Bath for the Avatars!

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
He's on the Most Wanted list, which Nimrod's Son has been tearing through.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
I wasn't going to bother with him since he's only appeared in crayon-style and I thought it would look weird alongside the others, but with a bit of tidying up it doesn't look too bad...

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
Is this thread going to wind up having a smiley for literally every character model in the whole comic?
Because actually, that would be kind of cool.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
Okay, got everything all updated up. Had to replace a bunch of the old links, too.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
I just noticed the transparency is all weird on Jenny, so I've deleted the old file and replaced it with a better one:
And here are some younger versions of Crystal, Haley and Durkon:

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
I can't keep up with the legendary son of Nimrod, but I've still got some new nameless soldiers for the collection.
EDIT: Also, we were missing an important character.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
Like in my last post I have been experimenting with different methods here. Some look pretty good, some look a little bit more like experiments...Last edited by Lvl 2 Expert; 2015-11-13 at 06:33 PM.

EDIT: The listings have Evisceratus twice, in place of the gladiator warden.Last edited by Nimrod's Son; 2015-11-27 at 06:15 AM.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
With all of the other golems on there, can you also add "Mr Met"?

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
If we really want to include even one-shot characters, then some suggestions:
- gok, crong and mungu
- Sandsedge characters (shopkeepers, hookers etc.)Guess what spell I cast before posting this message.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
There are plenty of other golems not represented here, and I intended to leave Mr Met as one of them - I don't tend to do characters who've only ever appeared in the background of a single panel. Since you requested it I had a go, but ran into a few difficulties: the "rain" filter over the original panel meant I had to take a guess at what the real colours were; I had to draw part of the head (including the neck bolt) that was hidden behind another character from scratch and so was only guessing at Rich's original design; and to top it all off the reference picture was so small it kept coming out pixellated round the edges every time I tried to shrink it to smiley-size. Even after much fiddling, it still looks awful compared to the others. What can I say man, I tried.
I will probably be doing some of the minor characters petersohn mentioned at some point though, I expect. I very nearly did the three orcs at the same time as Grukgruk and Vurkle but decided to focus on more major characters for the time being.
EDIT: Some suggestions for the listings: I would say the Slaad (new version below) belongs in the Outsiders category along with Belkar's consciences, and that Jiminy should go with the other family members, being as he is Haley's cousin.

Re: Order of the Stick Smilies
On a similar note: While lizardfolk appear to be most common in the western continent, the ones with no clothes and big back spikes may be a
crudely drawnsouthern variety, they appear here (although those could be on the western continent) and here. Storywise, that smiley might fit better with Azure City, as rare as they may be there (one spotted, and that was a smuggler). The Hindsight Awards, results: See the best movies of 1999!
