Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
Going to block with my 1 and 4, finishing those off, and raise by a 2 and 6 for an 8.
Coy moves to the side again, the strain of the battle starting to wear one him. He was still young after all, and this man was far larger then himself, one final prayer
"The Faith has no mercy for one as you. You cause sorrow. Repent now, I urge you. Come to me when you are out of darkness."
going to throw in the list die for preaching.

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
Wait, didn't you already roll your Preaching die? You got a 3 and a 1 last time. You can only use a Trait once in each conflict.

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
INNIS CABAL
Coy Pora - 6 6
Jacob Finley - 3 4 4
"Oh, ho, don't try to indo...indoctri...don't try to convert me with your Eastern heresy, the Dog's will execute you! Come on, sword boy, too afraid to stab me?! *****!" Jacob makes a fist and launches a punch to your gut. It's gonna hurt.
So once you're out of dice, you lose, unless you want to Escalate this into a gunfight. Normally you would roll Acuity + Will for a gunfight, but you never roll the same stat twice in the same conflict. You rolled Acuity in the talking arena and you rolled Will in the fighting arena, so if you want to Escalate this into a gunfight all you do is roll the dice for your gun, which is 1d6 and 1d4. Jacob doesn't have a gun.

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
Ya...going to escalate. Why not. All for a good story
Coy took the punch, staggering back, pulling his gun from his coat and pointing it at the man.
"I asked. Drown in intolerance and wine. Your shackle is gluttony"

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
Actually, I was wrong, so I deleted that last post. Here's what happened.
You couldn't See my Raise, so you either lose or you Escalate. You Escalated, rolling a 2 2. You have to See my 14 with your 6 6 2, and then you only have one 2 left to Raise with, so you have to Raise with that one.

INNIS CABAL
Coy Pora - 0
Jacob Finley - 4
"Who will be in shackles after tonight, you swine?" Jacob kicks your feet out from under you and beats you mercilessly, bloodying your noise and kicking you up against the wall, time after time again. Eventually his drunken mind gets bored, and he wanders off.
So, you lose this conflict. Time to roll Fallout.

INNIS CABAL
You get Fallout when you Take the Blow. You Took the Blow and used three die to See it, so you roll three die. That was in the Fighting arena, so you roll 3d6.
Go ahead, roll 3d6. Remember to rollv, not just roll.

Wow, badly injured. Fortunately, your character does get medical attention. I'll do that conflict tomorrow. Cliffhanger!

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
"So what do you guys think the scene should be?"
Alright. This is just one possibility, but here's how I'm seeing things:
Winston and Malden are both midway through their training. Malden has been a little distant from the other potential Dogs, not wholly trusting them, and that vulnerability left him open to demonic attack. When the demon attacks, the first thing it does is convince him that he needs to fight it alone. Not tell anyone about it. Or they'll cast him out.
So Malden retreats into his room, locks the door, and tries to force the demon out.
Meanwhile, Winston has noticed Malden becoming even more removed from the rest of the Dogs and has chosen this moment to show up and try to talk to him.
Winston will be bringing Ghost along, since they're rarely separated.Last edited by Kuma Da; 2009-02-06 at 10:35 PM.

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
I agree Kuma Da, but let's move this to the OOC thread, since it's not necessarily gameplay.

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
Daniel could see that talking to this man was not going to solve anything, action was needed. Putting his hands under the table, Daniel threw it over to the side of the room. ((Escalating the conflict! No punches thrown yet, but bound to be some in a sec! I guess I'll be rolling Body and Will?))
I drew this line myself

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
BLOCKHEAD
Spoiler
Right, so you can escalate into three other arenas.
Physical (Shoving, running, anything physical that's not fighting.)
Body + Heart
Fighting (Fisticuffs, brawling, kicking, even pulling out a knife or smashing a bottle for a shank)
Body + Will
Gunfight (Pulling out the Gun, making things life or death)
Acuity + Will
But you never roll the same stat twice in a Conflict, so since you've already rolled Acuity + Heart, don't roll those when you Escalate. For example, if you decide to Escalate into a Gunfight only roll Will, since you've already rolled Acuity for the Talking arena.
In any case, roll than See my Raise as normal.

Re: DitV - Kettle Creek - Player Origins
SpoilerRight, let's hope this comes out ok.... I have a Body Skill of 2d6, so I just roll 2d6? (2d6)[5][5](10) Hmmm... I still can't fully See your Raise with 10, would that mean I take 2 Fallout die?Last edited by Blockhead; 2008-11-30 at 09:41 AM.

Okay, Dogs in the Vineyard, take two. Minus two player characters.
