Re: WW Central IV: ALL wolves please read OPs!
So, I take it if I wanted to run a WW game I should first pick a start date here, and maybe post a rules to check if either side isn't unbalanced, then ask forum moderator to start a recruiting thread, yes?
By the way, what should be the correct number of wolves and masons per other players?
Oh, and if anyone wants a co-narrator, I'll be happy to oblige in the next monthCome one, come all! GitP MLP Steam Group is open!

Re: WW Central IV: ALL wolves please read OPs!
Generally you want to design your game/rules/etc first, before choosing a start date. And if you've never narrated before, it's a good idea to start as a co-narrator first.

Or at the very least, play a decent number of games before you decide you want to be narrator. It helps to understand the general mechanics of the game and how everything works and whatnot.

Oh definitely. If you haven't played a lot of games in several different roles, do that first.

Luigi: You wish you'd stayed home and let your bro handle things. You can null one point directed at you. If Luigi dies, Mr. L awakens. Scries as Luigi.
The Pixls: The twelve pixls have banded together and gone into hiding. Each group of three pixls controls a power. Only one of each group is scriable to the good guys. The bad guys scry group, but not position. If a member of the group dies, the power can only be used every other night, and if only one member remains, the power can be only used once every three nights. The exception is the sniper group: 3 days, 3 days, 4 days.
SpoilerThe scry group: Tippi (primary), Fleep, Slim. All scry as Scry pixl to baddies, only Tippi scries as Scry pixl to good guys.
The bane group: Barry (primary), Dottie, Dashell. All scry as Bane pixl to baddies, only Barry scries as Bane pixl to good guys.

The Bad Guys
SpoilerCount Bleck: Count Bleck is empowered by the foul Dark Prognosticus. He scries as a regular Flipsider, and may choose between a scry or a daybane every night. Bleck chooses his team.
Nastasia: Um, so you're Bleck's right hand, yeah? Nastasia gets a control action every night-she control's the targets vote the next day, and, if she knows the target's role, can control their vote in the targeting process. Scries as Nastasia.

Dimentio: Dimentio is the psychotic, levitating jester in Count Bleck's court. every even night, he gets a scry. every odd night, he gets a random ability. Dimentio scries as a regular Flipsider, due to his cloaking abilities.
Mr. L: You're a little fuzzy on where you came from, but you still serve Count Bleck. Mr. L starts the game as a Flipsider. If Luigi dies, Mr. L will be told who they are, and the bad guys will recieve a pm telling them who Mr. L is. Mr. L has the same point-negation power as Luigi. Scries as Mr. L.

But how would the narrator know for sure that she knows? As she doesn't have a scry ability.
She could just be guessing.
After all, not all contact is monitored by the narrator...

ZP has agreed to be my co-narrator for Mafia!
Sign up ends tonight at Midnight (central standard time) in 10 hours.
Roles will be within 12 hours at noon (my time - central standard time) tomorrow.
Day 1 will end on Monday (my time) at a time to be determined when the thread is up.
I will say that I've been extremely frustrated with the posting here, and am worried that my updates won't be as on time as my high standards require."see the little angels rise up high, how do they rise up, rise up, how do they rise up high?"

Re: WW Central IV: ALL wolves please read OPs!
Correct. And I apologize retroactively for yoinking that power- it was perfect. Also, it'd be easy to match Nastasia's target with any previous scries.
The way the vote would work is that if a Pixl gets targeted, and the player knows they're targeting a Pixl, they can have them vote for their choice of target in the decision making process the Pixls go through to decide their target. I.E.:
Nastasia targets a Voider Pixl, and knows they're a voider Pixl. Nastasia can have that player vote to void player X, instead of the player they want to void.
Also, I'm still looking for a co-narrator.

Re: WW Central IV: ALL wolves please read OPs!
Hilarious game idea, Duos.
Just thought it would be funny to share this quote from someone at Board Game Geek.com when talking about a game of "Werewolf" after dinner.
Wait a minute.
I always thought Werewolf was something you played on BGG with other hardcore geeks over a span of several weeks, committing way too much time creating characters on spreadsheets and spanning thousands of posts.
How do you fit the character creation, power development, plot twists, and layers of textured narrative into a dinner party evening, or what is this other "Werewolf" game you're talking about? ;)
P.S. Vote Lord Herman for Herman ITP.inner circle Legionary of Resiliance

Re: WW Central IV: ALL wolves please read OPs!
The moving alpha idea huh?
I used that idea in one of my games and I think we both got similar reasons: the big bad of the game should die last of the wolves.
The flaw with this idea is that the villagers don't earn anything by lynching the alpha, the rather lose something (since now another wolf scries as a villager).
But it could work I guess...
