Raven starts the coffee pot. "You interest me, Mr Ratavo. You have a lot of potential going to waste, and I think it's because you don't have a goal."

Turtle nods. "I've been practicing mental defense as well, though it's a shifter technique, so not one that you can use. GLoG has retained Dr Beit with an unlimited expense account, if you want to work with him."

[Vespe Ratavo]

Vespe sits down. He raises an eyebrow. Who says I don't have a goal?

Raven smiles. "True. Perhaps it's just not obvious to an outsider. Do you have a goal?"

[Darkcomet]

I doubt Beit is willing to be near me for any long period of time. Not with my enemies being Draken and Alek.

Oh... By the way, an old "friend" of mine has returned. He claims he's going to help with Alek, though I don't trust him.

[Morty]

My own demonhunter techniques should suffice. I just need to train them so that I don't burn off so quickly. They always worked against devils and demons, but Alek is stronger than any monster I've ever met.

[Vespe Ratavo]

You shouldn't presume things. But no, I don't have a goal, not really. I just travel around, doing what I please. Vespe shrugs. Not much to aspire to lately. I've got pretty much everything I want.

"If you're content with that, then I can't fault you. But I think you've got talent. I think you'd be a natural in politics."

"More monstrous than any monster too," Turtle mutters in response to Wenomir. "An old friend? Who do you mean, Darkcomet?"

[Morty]

Wenomir just nods grimly.

[Darkcomet]

Someone that shouldn't be alive. Someone who tried to betray me, and paid for it. He claims to come with no hostile intentions, but I don't trust him. I need any help I can get in my situation, though, so trust or no trust, it's a necessary risk.

[Vespe Ratavo]

Politics? No, I couldn't. I don't have the patience. I'd be in office for two weeks before I totally break down. I can't stay in one place for that long. I suppose there's always Time Lord politics, but they're stuffy and boring, and don't like me much in any case.

"Oh no, none of that. You'd be the faceman, the crowd pleaser. We'd get someone else to handle the details." Raven says.

Turtle looks annoyed. "I don't like riddles, DC. Just tell me."

You really don't want to know.

[Morty]

Wenomir snorts. We're being attacked by an insane and powerful psionics with sadistic tendencies that'd make pit fiends shudder. I don't think anything can shock me anymore.

[Vespe Ratavo]

...what are you proposing? Vespe edges towards the...edge...of his seat, clearly interested.

Raven leans conspiratorially across the table. "Acronymia is ripe for takeover. Wouldn't you agree?"

"I don't scare easy, DC. You of all people should know that. I've been kidnapped and cyborgized and possessed and mindfracked and even freaking killed, and I. Am. Still. Here."

The illusion gulps.

[Vespe Ratavo]

Vespe grins. Now you're talking. He puts a hand to his chin, clearly envisioning astronauts constructing the upper levels of his glorious statue made of solid gold. But how? And what are you going to get out of it?

[Morty]

Isn't it the same robot that led all those rebel robots against us some time ago.

[Darkcomet]

The image nods, grimly.

"I get to work behind the scenes. You keep the crowd entertained with razzle dazzle, while I make the new empire into a safe place for my clan. As to how, well, how do you eat an elephant?" Raven grins.

Turtle scowls. "I owe him some payback. He nearly killed Lex."

I don't know how he survived. I crushed him, and the entire building he was in, with a satellite.

[Vespe Ratavo]

...with an army of mooks? And zeppelins? He's never heard that one before. Anyway, do I still get some power? I mean, you can run things all you like, but there's no point in being a ruler if I can't do anything.

[Morty]

There's also been those rumors about him robbing someone of their soul... Wenomir frowns.

[Boo]

Mr. Quinne drags himself to his room since he was seemingly forgotten about by turtle, who may have just left him where she found him. The screech of metal can be heard with each pull forward.

If Turtle didn't just drop him when I deadtimed, then... I dunno what she did.

"As long as it doesn't endanger the clan, you can do whatever you like." He stands up and goes to the coffee pot. "Why don't we take this into your Tardis and make some plans. No need for my niece to be bothered about any of this." He gestures towards the nearest security camera.

((Hooray for secret planz! ))

"He's a robot. He probably had a backup somewhere," Turtle says.

((probably deadtime. Maybe. I'm not very good at being dead on time.))

She would have put him somewhere safe. Probably the infirmary.

Right, now that that's all cleared up:

Mr. Quinne is lying down on a bed, staring at the ceiling. "What's a Topsy?"

Turtle walks into the kitchen just as Raven and (presumably) Vespe are walking out. Her unsplinted and broken arm is still in a sling. "Forget something?" she asks, grinning.

Raven chuckles, self deprecatingly. "Target practice. Right." He takes her arm, positions the bone back into place, and then heals it.

It should have hurt quite a lot. A very careful observer might have seen Turtle's lips tighten for a second.

"Thanks, Uncle Rave," Turtle says, with a kiss on the cheek, and heads off to the firing range. But luckily she has to go right past the infirmary to get there.

"Francis? How are you?"

[Morty]

Wrong one, I'm afraid. He betrayed that one too.

Hm. I get confused by all those robots. Well, I suppose that against Alek, any ally would help. It's not like he can be worse than this spineless worm.
