Here's my roll.
"Use The Force" - (1d20+10)[16]

The ship drifts closer to the strange configuration of junk. Soon the collision proximity alert is blinking below the main display, a gentle reminder to the crew that they have moved very close to something solid.

Up close the pieces are clearly, individual, much smaller than the ship. Visual details leap into higher resolution on the display and to anyone who happens to look out the window at the closest pieces.

Graffiti written in galactic basic and Huttesse adorn sections of the hull, each declaring various things but none are complete, either faded, removed by damage, or torn at the edges of the chunks. All of the markings look very old.

At this closer range the scanners repeat their sweep. After a moment a sub-display pops up from the main screen, zooming into the central area of empty space and highlighting a tiny piece of crystal.

Dri feels another chill run through him, even at just the display image of the crystal. This is clearly something tightly tied to the Force.

"What in the...." "There's only one explanation Kholar says . Beginning to concentrate on the force and it's patterns. Trying to focus on what would create this oddity (1d20+10)[16]

The ways of the Force are many and Kholar is still yet young. This crystal and its origins appear to be beyond his depth.

All Force sensative characters on the ship feel a backlash from the crystal as Kholar attempts to read the Force around it. Use the Force checks are at -2 until farther notice.

[Frog Dragon]

"Gah! What the....." Kholar gathers his breath before continuing "Okay, my attempt didn't apparently do any good." "Some sort of backlash I apparently caused. Someone, or something doesn't like me probing around" Kholar finishes

"I...I... also have a bad feeling about this. Can we get a scale for the crystal? How large is it?"

[Tadanori Oyama]

The display is able to show an image of the crystal, magnified.

It measures roughly five inches in diameter and has a smooth surface with many curves and twists. It looks like a small piece of blown glass. The sensors are unable to determine the material composition of the crystal.

[Frog Dragon]

"Does anyone have a spacesuit?" Kholar asks. "Someone could get close enough to see if it's smart to blast the crystal to the NINE CORELLIAN HELLS!!"

[Mando Knight]

"I HAVE NO NEED FOR A SPACE SUIT FOR EXTRAVEHICULAR ACTIVITY. HOWEVER, I LACK THE NECESSARY THRUSTERS FOR SUCH ACTIVITY."

[Frog Dragon]

"I have an idea" Kholar says. Anyone have some cable or wire?" "We need the droid attached to the ship so he can jump to examine the crystal" "Do you have magnetic feet?" "If so you could just take the wire, jump out, clamp to the side of the ship, attach the wire and go see it. If not then we need to attach the wire inside the airlock."

[Mushroom Ninja]

As the backlash washes over him, Zeeku's eyes get wide and he shouts something in his native tongue. ERL-273 whirs, "Translation: My Magics! They are being affected! Destroy the magic-sucker-thing with the huge blasty things!"

ERL-273 pauses for a moment and then adds, "Interpretation: I am of the opinion that by "huge blasty things", my master means the ship's weaponry. I may be wrong, however. He is using very bad grammer."

[Frog Dragon]

"Yeah, but first we need to get some more intel on that crystal. " "If we just blow it up it might do more harm than good, maybe creating a wave of released dark side energy killing us all!" Kholar replies.

[TheStagesmith]

Hikan's hand rests on his blaster. He seems more comfortable that way. "Well, you know, seeing as one of the pieces here exploded when we shot it, I would say that randomly shooting at stuff is a bad *****ing idea." He pauses for a moment, "Well, there isn't much I can do. I'm trained for ground combat, not shenanigans* in space."

Hikan sits down, yanks out his blaster, and starts flicking it between 'kill' and 'stun.' Yeah, he'd like to just blow the **** out of the thing, but he likes his body in its fully operational state.




*note: Hikan did not actually use the word 'shenanigans.' I am using it as an appropriate euphemism for a particularly colorful curse. What?

Y'know... there is a list of SW slang...

"I say we leave it. I felt the backlash from merely trying to touch it with the Force - not to mention its surroundings... No; something that dangerous is not to be trifled with."

[Tadanori Oyama]

A small text box warning flashes in the corner of the display, informing the crew that they are in danger of falling behind schedule on their return to Dantooine if they do not resume forward progress within ten minutes.

[Frog Dragon]

"That settles it" Kholar says "Lets blast off and leave this hunk of junk where it stands" "This is a mystery for another time" Kholar finishes taking the controls and steering away. (Pilot roll (1d20+12)[17] the is from +2 from the crit success earlier as you said)

Then he calibrates the best hyperspace route to Dantooine (1d20+20)[22]
"Good we have this top-of-the-line navicomputer"

There is. The time period here is fairly vague. I'll narrow it down as we play.

Assuming you plot a course, take off, and hit hyperspace you'll have an uneventful trip and hit real space.

I wanted to wait to see if anyone else wanted to do anything more with the crystal. If not, then go ahead and hit the gas.

"We should mention this to the masters on Dantooine."

[Frog Dragon]

"I agree." "Though I would prefer to keep to the shadows." "I am not a part of the Jedi Order and have never been" "They are not sure about me and my mentor, Ziraiya told me she was exiled for breaking the jedi code." Kholar says. "It's best for you too" Kholar finally remarks "I don't think the order is big on it's Jedi travelling with Grey Jedi."

"I am permitted to travel with non-jedi. I think the council would take issue with me travelling with a Sith Lord, but I would not concern yourself overmuch."

Sorry, lots of snow. I was out of touch with civilization for awhile there.

As the ship moved away from the space junk and the odd crystal, the navicomputer plotted their new course. Once they where clear, the stars dragged across the display as the ship accelerated to impossible speed.

The trip, which should have taken some time, was over almost as soon as it began, and the crew finds themselves in normal space. The display had gone blank and the cabin lights where dark.

Something when wrong.

"What the..." Kholar mutters "Okay, Brace yourself" Kholar says flicking his lightsaber onto his hand and igniting it. "Something likely hit us with a gravity well, though it could be raiders." Kholar continues "And frankly I'm surprised we're not toast already!"
