Star Wars is applicable, I think, over the course of the series, but I feel this is a somewhat more general trope.
I mean, Darth Vader is clearly a Cleric ("I find your lack of faith disturbing"), his Death Star gets blown up in A New Hope, and he says "join me" in The Empire Strikes Back.

You're mixing the Hobbit and the Fellowship of the Ring.
243: You are the chief of police for a peaceful, but magically advanced, race that has moved beneath the surface of the earth for safety reasons. When a surface dweller both learns of your existence and kidnaps a notoriously troublesome officer, how will you respond?
244: You are a single freedom fighter (the class) in a society dominated by totalitarian tippy Wizards. Can you defeat the vast resources of this tippyverse government using only swords, secrecy, intellect and your fast healing racial feature?
245: You are a low-level mage who does a normal, if boring, job in a standard fantasy society. But what will you do when a strange group attempts to convince you that the world around has been implanted into your mind via Mindrape and reveals a real world more terrible than you could have ever imagined?

247. You are the leader of an underground civilization that has never seen the sky. However, an upstart youth and his gang of minions are constantly causing trouble, attempting to break through the dome over your heads.
248. You are a restaurant owner who had distant ties with political figures who staged a coup and now run the largest nation on the face of the planet. Using this tenuous connection accrues some fame for your restaurant; however, in the face of an unnatural disaster, the common folk are violently turning against the young leader and pulling down statues.

"So, you're telling me I can dodge Magic Missiles?"
"I'm telling you that when you have the Shield spell active, you won't have to."

249. The Formian Empire has conquered the world with millions of colossal constructs on every single continent in existance. Bring them to their knees.
250. The nobel of Alkerhoth has been caught spying for Hagernad. He has been arrested. Run the guillotine.
You did? I just went thread diving and couldn't find your characterization.....
Regardless, my 244 is actually from another source. It's not just made up...... it fits DnD perfectly though.
251. Just as your character is about to die, two strange men teleport in and give you an incredibly powerful artifact that, after keeping you alive, will change your life forever. As it turns out, these men are part of a de-facto government for a highly magical world. It is up to you to stop them, but your only allies are a talking frog and a young girl.

252. In a land that once boasted freedom and equality after the abolition of slavery and aristocracy, a group of selfish human merchants are using their wealth to end all government involvement in the economy. In this completely "free" market, those on top of the heap will reign supreme, ensuring the gap between rich and poor grows ever wider. In effect, the merchants will create a new de facto aristocracy. Stop them or rule them. The choice is yours.

253. Vampires around the world have not only lost their weakness to sunlight, but they sparkle in it! These vampires are now spending most of their time complicating the lives of teenage girls around the world. Investigate the cause of and put a stop to this atrocity.
254. You are a con-man you has just been hanged for his crimes, but instead of being dead, you appear in a room with a rich man you wants you to run a post office, because his board games keep being interrupted. Failure to due so means being kicked down a long and fatal drop. Also, a corrupt business man is trying to stop you and there is a golem to keep you from running away. Good luck.
255. Something has stolen the sun! Cross the Rainbow Bridge to recover the horn needed to wake the gods, and get the sun back!

((you and me both ))
256. your best friend is the chosen one for a ritual that will take her around the world activating elemental temples and ascending to become an angel. This is part of a multiple world spanning religion which is just a cover for a godlike angel who believes he can bring his sister back. Best stop him from killing our friend to resurrect his sister.
257. You are an elementary school kid, and suddenly a meteor falls from the sky. You must go to it to find a tiny monster and do battle with your firiends who have also found these tiny summonable creatures, before taking on a threat to the entire world with nothing but the power of friendship and determination to make your little critters grow to be about a third the size of japan to defend the world from a giant space fortress here to destroy us all.
Cookie to anybody who gets these amazingly obscure references. Hint: they're both for the Gamecube

Going Postal? Someone's a Discworld fan, I see.
My turn to come up with one!
258. SW d20 - Darth Malak's fleet is growing, and seems unstoppable. While his arch enemy, Bastila Shan, is roaming around the galaxy with a crew of random drifters, your task is to help the Republic buils a fleet of ships and prepare an assault on his giant space station. By doing all the legwork, you're sure to really show up that Bastila and the slackers she's hanging out with by receiving the credit you deserve and humiliating her at the same time by being hailed as the true hero of the Republic.
Well, I more than recognize 256. I've beaten the game twice, and am working on a third time, since my data was all erased by data corruption.
Is 257... a Pokemon game? Gale of Darkness, perhaps?
Basicly 70% of "summoner" games, you are an elementary school kid, or at least that age.
259. There are seven sages with powerful wands, each of six a master of a single element, and the seventh one of balance. You've been seperated from your parents in an attack by monsters, raised by a witch, and been given a wand by someone resembling your father. Fight and recruit monsters in an attempt to defeat the seventh sage, who is stealing the other sage's wands and mind controling them.
260. Your town has been attacked by giant tanks. Considering that (including you) your town's population was 101, and is now reduced to 1, go rescue the other 100 townsfolk, by using a humongous tank of your own. Also, every one in your town is an ooze.
cookies to those that get these obscure DS references.

261. You live in a world created by fusing two worlds together. You're town is attacked by someone very famous. You wind up at your aunts, when a strange girl with a gem in her head and her floating dog show up, taking you on a revenge quest, where you team up with the famous guy's old teammates, temporarily, are constantly assaulted by a bad smell, collect gemstones called cores, and, also recruit monsters. Again. And, eventually figure out that you are actually a demon trying to destroy the world, that the famous guy did not attack your town, but that that was an impostor to frame him, since he came from one world before the fuse, and the people from the other world hate this new arrangement.

262. The king has been kidnapped by ninjas, are you a bad enough party to save him?
