Pffh play's: Let's play Alien vs predators: Marines
Well I got it into my head that I wanted to make a lets play (like all the cool kids ) and the new Alien vs Predator marine chapter was the lucky game.
"But pffh with so many great games to choose from why did you pick AvP" some of you might ask and well it's simple I wanted to play a horror game since I'm really jumpy and it should be fun to watch a stranger on the internet get terrified but also I am really jumpy so I did not want a "real" horror game.
Those of you unfamiliar with the Alien vs Predator universe and games it's simple:
Bad corporation breeds aliens (xenomorphs google it if you don't know) for war.
Experiments go horribly wrong, everyone dies and the marines are sent in.
???? (predators show up)

*Possible side effects of profit: Horrible, horrible death and/or maiming.
Since this is my first ever lets play and well my first ever anything on the internet tips, comments and horrible criticism that will drive me from the internet forever are all welcome.
On that note is my accent to thick? I've heard from some people in the past that it is and they have a hard time making out some words so if it is I'll try to work on it.

I started watching the first episode and love it so far. Just paused it to congratulate you, I'll offer more comments once I'm through the first three videos.
EDIT: I finished the first and loved it, I'll watch the second and third tomorrow. Keep up the outstanding work!

First video down. My comments:
1) You have an awesome voice. I can't place the accent... Russian?
2) SO glad they gave the squishy humans infinite flares, you got so few in the last game that I ended up forgetting I had them at crucial moments because I was so used to not having any. They didn't need infinite flashlight though, conserving that helped the atmosphere.
3) "I can't crouch! Vat the hell?"
"Die, die! Why won't you die!!"
4) "Stay frosty, rookie" aside from being generic military-speak for "stay calm" is a callback. In the PC AvP game from '99, your main character's name was "Frosty" - so named because he was always cool no matter what was going down (which explains how he was able to survive being caught between Aliens and Predators, natch.) Not sure if you knew that, but there you go.
Very good commentary - I kept imagining you as actually being the voice in Rookie's head as he moved around, which I think is the best way for a LP to work. Keep it up!

The commentary is indeed excellent, keeping the audience engaged and the moments with little action lively without cluttering the cutscenes. And the accent is awesome.
Right I've been uploading these pretty quickly over the last couple of days but I think I'm going to slow down at least for the next week since I have a fairly important exam coming up.

Could just be a callback to Aliens (one of the greatest movies of all time) which features the most famous stay frosty in film.
Hicks says it, of course. Dude is cool under pressure.

You are one of the few people I've seen that would pass up an opportunity to pick up a sniper rifle.
Several opportunities in fact. But I can see the point, you don't get much chance to catch enemies by surprise as a marine.
I surprised myself by not taking it. That's usually the first weapon I go for in every game but as you said I didn't expect many opportunities to use it. In addition to that I'll discover in later chapters (finished all my recording today yay me) that the sniper sucks. It needs something like 6-8 shots to take down an android.

Heh. You keep getting surprised at the fact that blowing apart an alien's head from point blank with a shotgun... douses you with tons of acid and kills you. :)

If you're interested in Rainbow Six: Vegas, I suggest playing Vegas 2. It really is a hell of a lot better.
The story probably won't make a vast amount of sense if you haven't played the first game. On the other hand it's so ridiculous it doesn't make a huge amount of sense if you have either, so no worries there.
The big improvements are in the AI and customization. AI is still a bit braindead, but isn't as horrible as it is upon occasion in the first game. In particular enemies notice you in much more consistent and believable ways now, which greatly reduces the number of times I've died to some moron who somehow didn't notice the raging gun battle three feet away.
On the second point they added all the multiplayer customization options to singleplayer. I'm not generally a huge fan of unlocks, and the system isn't the greatest, but at least a person can alter their armor loadout in the singleplayer now. As somebody who likes to strap every possible bit of Kevlar to their squishy self, this is deeply appreciated.
The basic gameplay is pretty much unchanged, and that's an entirely good thing. The cover based shooting is still probably my favorite version of the concept. Whereas most games feel like they design a cover system and then everything else to make you use it, R6 feels like they designed a reasonably hardcore tactical room-clearing game, and added a cover system because it's damn handy. In particular this means that instead of the Gears system wherein most combatants absorb massive amounts of ammo so you need cover to outlast them, in R6 bullets kill you very quickly, and the cover system is an easy to control way to avoid getting shot at all. And it is extremely easy to control; while there's a bit of a learning curve after a while it starts feeling very natural.
I've also found the levels to be better designed in V2, they manage to feel both naturalistic and easy to navigate with the cover system. In particular I've very seldom died because I couldn't cover behind something I thought I could, which was a regular annoyance in the first title. The lingering gun balance issues remain (if there's a reason not to use the MG-3, I've yet to discover it), but aside from those it's a very good game.

Just read this. That accent is made of pure, undiluted WIN. Some people have no taste in accents... .
Right since there are just two parts left and I'll upload them at the same time since 15 is pretty short it's time for me to think about what I want to do next and so far the next lets play comes down to predator campaign vs rainbow six: new vegas.

That was fun. Especially while you died repeatedly, because your expletives sounded nearly german. Do you know yet what you are doing next?
Just one nitpick: the bigger aliens are not queens, they are praetorians tasked with protecting the queen. Of course the marine killed the queen before actually seeing a praetorian but officially thats their description.

If it were any other way it wouldn't be Alien. They only way to win is to nuke it from orbit before the survivors carriers get away.
