If so, I would suggest a Mark of Justice that prevents him from engaging in space travel until he has demonstrated that he understands the risks, as well as a fine as punishment for hacking, and community service to assist in repairing the damage to the city."
Being an AI, Mainframe is infinitely patient and will wait as long as Phil likes.
Having a human player, it will sadly deadtime now. If Phil wants to speak to the Council or Erin again, Mainframe can be godmodded along as a deadtime zombie, or will get messages from Phil to others. (Within reason - it's not going to pass on a message to tell Phil's robots to run amok or anything, but I'm sure you know that. )
Phil thanks the girl, complements her looks, and thanks Mainframe.
"I think the MagSats would have picked it up. Let's face it, it's the Empire and retroactively the Remnant's fault those explosives were there to go off. I know a lot of other stuff I could bring up to them, too, if need be."
As Phil is talking, he reaches back with his head, stretches, and with a strange pop, dislocates his arms so that he can slide the bound limbs up and over his head, lean on the table to pop them back in, and eat the steak with a fork and knife like a civil man.

She'll toss it onto the table where it will make a gross plopping sound before skittering around like Thing. There's a rather odd symbol on the back, an orange sigil that looks rather akin to a stylized skull.
"The rescuers at the impact sight were finding undead bits here and there in the rubble. Unless the guy who dropped that meteor had a bunch of zombies clinging to it I think there might be something else going on here."

I do not believe it will profit you to attempt to blame the Remnant for their actions. However, I will ask that the charges of negligent homicide be dropped. That leaves Two counts of Hacking into a Public Network, Invasion of Inside Air Space, Knowing Endangerment of Innumerable Civilians, Willing Destruction of Public Property, Threatening a Remnant Official, and Two Counts of Resisting Arrest. Are you contesting all of these charges, or do you continue to assert your innocence?"
"Two counts of hacking? Also, those same channels have been hacked so many times that that's a stupid thing to charge me for, but alright. Now, resisting arrest? I said they could arrest me. I just said I didn't want to bow due to cultural reasons. So, unless they're all racist jerks, in which case this is an even more unfair trial, that's another thing they should take off. Especially since it happened one time at one place. Destruction of public property, I didn't destroy anything. Invasion? I didn't invade anything. Invasion requires at least an intent to destroy or gain control of an area through use of force. Knowing endangerment? Iggy was programmed to protect any civilians caught in the line of fire, and only to attack Riv, and to warn those who attack it not to attack a second and third time before shooting back. And I didn't threaten a Remnant official, if I recall correctly."

"I will not allow you to come to harm while you are my client," Mainframe says. "I will notify the Council that you plead guilty to two counts of hacking and innocent to all remaining charges. If there is nothing else you wish to discuss with me privately, we can return to the Council room."
Mainframe sends the above message to the Council, along with the request that the charges of negligent homicide be dropped.
"That's fine, though I will bring up the fact that charging someone for hacking a network run by NPCs is stupid. Thanks, Mainframe," Phil sighs and pops his arms back into place once he's finished the steak.

"I would also like to point out that charging someone for hacking those channels after how many times it's happened before and nobody got punished is stupid to the point of just plain stupid. Also, aren't proper courts supposed to have a jury of peers, not a bunch of people I don't know-a few of whom tried to kill me at that fight, by the way-and some lady who wants to off me and use this for political purposes? And after I'm proven innocent on everything else, do we get to discuss how much you guys owe me? After all, a proper government would pay citizens compensation for unjust charges and apprehension, private property lost protecting said government-which I'm displeased to see was apparently pointless, seeing as how Gordon is here-, and destroying a citizens private-and expensive-property. Yeah, I know it was someone on the Remnant side that set up that anti-magic field and shot all those plasma weapons at me. AMEN had nothing to gain from that. Also, seeing as how everything came from behind me on those counts, it was pretty obvious."
Phil waits a moment. If anyone reacts in a particularly shocked manner, he frowns and tilts his head almost mockingly.
"What? I thought you kiddos wanted to play politics?"

"I'm not sure I can judge this as I have no training in law." Cessie says honestly after listening to Phil. "But I agree with him actually. We should let him be judged by his peers, not by us. Why don't we let remnant make a just trail for him outside the council chamber?" The mage suggests.
"Well, we haven't even started a trial, we're busily discussing settling out of court and what we believe the evidence and charges are."
Grace says smoothly.
"Which is why there is no jury. Or judge, in case no one has noticed."
"But I agree. We have too many people in charge and not enough action being taken. I think the council should only be a tribunal under incredibly unusual circumstances- and idiots, sadly, are quite normal."
She glances around the chamber.
"Is everyone else fine with handing this over to Remnant, specifically?"
"I'm fine with it, I believe they with the experience they have could handle this a lot more smoother and much more by the law. It feels wrong to judge him like this personally." Cessie agrees.
"Just because the networks are run by the public citizens of Inside, instead of being government funded, doesn't mean it's any less illegal. If "everyone" had slaves here, it'd still be as much against the law as only one person." Vasquez tells him. "And, Phil, I had you and the only other witness in the area completely restrained and under my control earlier, for a good length of time. If I had wanted you gone, do you think you'd be here?" She asks before shaking her head. "It's just not how things are done any more. I am not the old regime. As for the fight against AMEN, we had evacuated the area just to prevent that sort of thing. If you were there, it was under your own power, and by your admittance, it was nothing specifically targeting you. If it had been direct fire, I'd gladly pay you, but it wasn't. Normally, I'd pay funeral costs either way, maybe a bit more, but it already sounds like your friend is well and alive."
"Before you go running off wanting a new trial or jury though, I recommend you at least hear their offer for a plea bargain. It's more reasonable than I'd like, but it's more than fair and I have no real objections to it."

I agree. This is taking far too much time. Council should gather in important matter, and this... isn't very important, really. We should hand the case over to Remmnant.

"Oh no, Rho is more than dead, and I had been there for a while, waiting to try and introduce you militaristic buggers to the guys who are currently out there, clearing the bugs out of Inside for you! And indirect fire or not, you still did a hell of a lot more damage with those than AMEN did with their little guns and knives! Let's face it, this is not a proper way to 'judge' me-and we all know by the horribly half-baked ways you try to weasel around that you have one set ending in your mind- and even further from a proper government! "I found 'em, sir! All three of them!" a dignified voice with a bit of a southern US accent comes out of a small speaker.
"That quickly?" Phil grins a little.
"Yes indeed, sir. Like a lightning bolt, so to say. Or...something fast that doesn't strike, as we haven't done anything yet."
"That's just fine. Thank you, Oregon."
Phil looks back up to the Council members and grins.
"Look at that, you've got me locked up in here and I'm still getting more done than you."
