Default [3.5e NPC PrC] Minstrel (PEACH)

Oh, my! Did I miss an opportunity to make another NPC PrC? One second, let me fix that.

Minstrel

Song is everywhere in life. One must only listen. Or pay a small fee. Yeah, the fee usually helps. The Minstrel makes their living by performing and scrounging up money where they can. If particularly renowned, they have a shot at being a court minstrel. Though that's rare and when such a position is attained, the minstrel ends up getting mixed up with the jester. And no one wants to wear a hat with bells.

Becoming a Minstrel
Minstrels usually begin their careers as beggars. It doesn't take much time to figure out that those with an act get paid more. So the Minstrel learns an instrument and plays for their meals. Alternatively, they may have found that music was their life's calling and came from a bit more well-off background choosing to pursue the wandering life of the Minstrel. Whatever their origin, the Minstrel follows where their song brings them.

Grandiose Music

Skilled Performer: The Minstrel earns their pay by performing. As such, it is important that their act is decent. They add their Minstrel level to all Perform checks.

Traveler’s Knowledge: Minstrels hear a lot of interesting things on their travel. This information can often prove useful. This ability functions just like Bardic Knowledge except the modifier to the check is twice the Minstrel’s class level plus their charisma modifier. If the Minstrel later attains level in Bard, add twice their Minstrel level to Bardic Knowledge checks.

Supernatural Music: There’s power in music. The Minstrel has a learned an interesting, somewhat supernatural performance to astound the audience. And hopefully bring in an extra copper or two. When they gain this ability, they select a pair of 0-level spells from the Bard's spell list. They may now use each of these spells once per day as a spell-like ability with the save being based off of their Charisma and their effective CL equal to their Minstrel level. If they ever become a Bard, levels in Bard stack with levels in Minstrel for determining the CL.

Enchanting Song: When people hear a good song, they have a tendency to get wrapped up in it. The Minstrel learns how to make this wrapping a little tighter. With a knot or two. They gain the Fascinate bardic music ability, as the Bard ability of the same name. This ability can be used a number of times equal to the Minstrel’s class level. If the Minstrel later takes levels of Bard, levels in Minstrel stack with levels in Bard for determining Bardic Music uses per day.

Magical Music: Another day, another song, another silver. Sometimes a showstopper is just what’s needed. And who cares if it’s “Cheating”? When they gain this ability, they select a single 1st-level spell from the Bard's spell list. They may now use this spell once per day as a spell-like ability with the save being based off of their Charisma and their effective CL equal to their Minstrel level. If they ever become a Bard, levels in Bard stack with levels in Minstrel for determining the CL.

Spellbinding Music: The Minstrel has ascended from mundane or semi-mundane music to full-blown magic. When they gain this ability, they gain a single 1st-level spell slot and two 0-level spell slots in addition to two 0-level Bard spells and one 1st-level Bard spell known. These are in addition to their mastered spells.

Note: Spells and Spell-Like abilities gained from Minstrel are subject to Arcane Spell Failure when the Minstrel wears anything heavier than Light Armor.

Glad I fixed that.
