Dragon Tales and OOTS Game Status - The Books Have Arrived!
This is certainly long overdue, but here's some updated info
for the Dragon Tales and OOTS games pre-orders from Ookoodook.
SNIPS, SNAILS and DRAGON TALES

After contacting the printer, I have been informed that due to
complications during production, Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales
will not be shipped out until sometime in July. The printer is
sending a new set of proofs next week and if everything is
separated correctly, printing should proceed quickly thereafter.
Rich and I thank you for your patience and understanding.
OOTS SHORTENING EXPANSION and DELUXE EDITION GAMES

The printer informed me just hours ago that the games would
arrive in the U.S. on the first week of August. That means it
will be close to the 3rd week of August before they get to our
warehouse in Houston. We apologize for the delay. Part of the
problem was that the final cards didn't get to the printer on
schedule, and part was that the printer didn't include the
expansion cards as part of the Deluxe Edition game.
PRODUCT AT GEN CON

My plan is to get a couple pallets of games sent ahead of the
rest of the shipment so that I can have them for Gen Con. I'll
also bring a list of folks that pre-ordered the games, so if
you're at the con, I can give you the game there instead of
shipping it to you. Sorry, no postage refunds - I'm paying
considerably extra to get the games expedited.
Folks that pre-ordered the book should hopefully already have
it before Gen Con, but we'll of course bring them to the show.

As an official announcement, I've stickied this post.
I'm inclined to leave it open for now, but we don't have the manpower to monitor this thread 24/7 and excise problem posts, so if it starts getting into rules violations, we'll have to lock it.

Thank you for the update and making this a sticky. It will help. It may also be helpful to take down the news item on the main page about the book being ready in june as its old outdated info.

Many thanks for the update. I know that you have been hammered by well-intentioned but emotionally-charged posts over the last few days, and I'm sure that isn't easy to deal with on top of your other duties relating to these printing projects. I as well as others very much appreciate the information on estimated shipping dates.
I look forward to enjoying the book and the game expansion (contraction?) in due time!
Oh. The other part was that the printer didn't add any of the extra 150+ cards into the Deluxe edition of the game so they needed to unpack all the games and add them, which set things back.
I wanted to get a bulk email out last night, but the service I use, Campaign Monitor, was down. That email has the same contents as my original post in this thread, though, so if you've read this, you're not missing anything.
I, also, thank you for the official update/heads up.
May I respectfully recommend to those with the authority to do so that this be added as a "news item" as well, pointed back here, for the benefit of those who do not regularly visit the forums?

Thank you for the update. I understand that things don't always go as planned, and I know that you are doing your best to get the book and the games ready and out to the customers. The delays certainly aren't fun for you.
Hmm. If the book ships sometime in July, I hope my brother dearest will check my email account (which I only have access to at home) for the tracking number during the week I'm out of town. I'll have to remember asking him. (If the book is already on its way before I leave it's no problem because brother dearest will be able to accept my parcel. It's times like these that make me happy to have a brother )
Just though to mention that I don't mind it being late. Too bad for all you guys that you have these problems to solve and that it costs more money but you can send mine last, as long as I get it

I don't think anyone *is* bitching about the delay...it was lack of communication that was the main complaint, and this thread neatly solves that issue!
