"Do I 'dislike' military command? No. I am a born commander, I am literally an army with a single mind. I do not believe it would be possible for me to 'dislike' such an essential part of me.. Prometheus takes another sip of wine before continuing. "I dislike the thought that I will, one day, be killing hundreds for goals that are not my own. The fact that I will be forced to callously commit genocide is... irritating, to understate my annoyance at the thought. As for what I wish to do after I free myself... I honestly do not know. I was made for a purpose, I am not sure what I will do once that is completed."

"So which do you prefer?" Bellan asks, looking at Pro closely. "Possible damage to your mind, or committing genocide for a master you don't wish to serve?" Considering Bellan's tone, it's obvious which he would prefer.

"Not just damage. Erasure. The damage would be severe enough to rewrite my personality, destroy the majority of my memories, permanently impair my mind... And I have time. Perhaps I will find a way to achieve my goal without unneeded slaughter, or to achieve my freedom without killing my mind." Prometheus says, his tone making it obvious it is not a decision he wants to make. He's still holding onto the hope he can avoid either unpleasant choice. "And you? You know much about me, but I know nothing except your name."

"Ah. How rude of me." Bellan actually seems embarassed, a change from his usual neutrality. The giant bows his head politely. "I am Bellan Vraal." And what's this? He doesn't give his shame-title! :O "Er. S'kahret. And your name would be?"

"Prometheus. No last name. It is.. good to meet you." Prometheus says, and for once he really means it, instead of the disapproval with which he views most people. "What is it that you do? I, as I have said, am what might be called a warlord by trade."

One of the regulars slipped in quietly - a soldier whose been coming here forever. She was in the city guard before Vyrn took over, then went to work for the Empire. Participated in the coup. Continued to serve under Noir. And now she works for Remnant. She figured the name will change again a few times before she retires. The important thing is to protect the city, by whatever means necessary.
She moved past the crowd of chimeras to take a seat in a booth where she had a view of the bar. Specifically, the empty place behind the bar. It had been a few days now, and she hadn't been able to keep a meal down since. She could kill and she did kill and she would kill again, but it never got easier. Faster, more brutal, more efficient. But never easier.
Submission-In-Adversity-Brings-Peace Halifax, member of the Praetorian Guard, does nothing for now except ignore the glass of wine she ordered and remember the woman she helped to kill.
A little half drow girl tries to sneak along the back pof the bar toward the woman (who's name I've already forgotten >.>). A black bandit mask covers her face and she wears loose fitting, black clothing that covers all but her hands and face. Her white hair is cut in a neat bob. A little smile colours her face as she tries to sneak up on the woman. She's surprisingly sneaky, despite the fact that she's essentially in plain sight do to the woman's positioning.
Through an open window comes a pile of luminescent cyan dust, reshaping into Jakob as it reaches the floor. As usual, he's wearing that suit of silvery Platemail, minus the helmet, and has a sword in a scabbard at his side.
Less usually, he looks REALLY drunk. Like he just drank almost an entire bottle of wine. Which would make sense, considering that there's a very large empty bottle of wine in his hand.
He'll wander up to the Starspawn in the tavern.
"Oona thee Implachable ish shealed. I 'm nevah trinkin' dis mush again. Evah. Wheresh Zee?"*
*: "Oona the Implacable is sealed. I'm never drinking this much again, ever. Where is Zee?"
Ally walks in and drops her former pretense, reverting to her normal demeanor. I dunno about you, but I really need to get wasted. She grins at Ashley, assuming she's still with.

"But not by choice. How strange." Bellan gives a smile that's remarkably friendly, despite his mandibled appearance. "Me? I have no profession, by human standards. I am exiled." There's a bit of melancholy in his tone, at the mention of this little factoid.

Ashley has followed Ally into the Tavern."You and me both. Order whatever you like, I'm buying." The sorceress orders a simple beer for herself. "So, what was with the sudden noble mood back there?"
Ashley takes a long draft of her beer. "Don't be coy, you were acting like a noblewoman around Brianna." Her tone is mostly playful, but she does want to know what's going on.
The young woman sips her scotch while considering how to answer the question. Hmm... Let's just say that I've had... dealings with plenty of demigods before. In my... line of work, I found it useful to develop that noble identity, which I've found works better on demigods then letting them know I'm gutter trash.

Ashley ends up laughing as well. "No, I guess there aren't." She finishes her beer, quickly ordering another. "So, how have you lived off of the streets?"
Now I'm just taking it easy. I've got enough gold to last me another week or two. Ally shrugs, then drops her voice. Once my arm and legs heal up, I'll probably look for... some kind of fence. And somebody with more valuable possessions then they need. Maybe an art collector.

"Oh. I guess I'm looking for work myself. Turns out helping save a world isn't all that lucrative." Ashley shrugs, and takes another sip of her drink. "Maybe when you're better, I could help you with any work."
Ally quietly drinks while studying the illusionist, quickly thinking of the possibilities. Distracting someone while she lifts a painting. Leaving an illusion of a gemstone behind after she steals it. Making her hands appear empty when they're loaded down with stolen goods. I figure you wouldn't be half bad at it, Ash. And I think I'd enjoy working with you.

The redhead finishes off her scotch and orders another, apparently serious about her desire to get completely wasted tonight. Mm, we could be partners in crime...
