There are plenty of people who haven't yet got a shipping e-mail. Be patient--they have to go through thousands of books (I'm guessing, wouldn't have been economically viable to print less) and I doubt APE is a massive organisation!
It's more that books are going out and I haven't gotten actual confirmation that they've changed my shipping address...the house I lived in when I pre-ordered is a long ways away and there are other people living there now. If the book accidentally goes to the wrong place, I might not get it. I e-mailed ookoodook on the 28th about changing the address (once I was positive that the book wasn't getting here before I moved out), but I havn't had a reply to that e-mail yet...
Finding out that the ennui and cynicism of our times is not, after all, an unavoidable unreverseable fate does kind of throw your world-view off, potentially.
How far through processing the orders are you now?
I'd like to have this information too. I think I ordered toward the end of the preorder process, and I don't mind receiving mine last as a result, but it would still be nice to have an estimate.
Apparently I'm still left in the dark since I ordered a copy of the game as well. I don't suppose anyone else that ordered the game has received a shipping email at this time?
I placed two orders, one that was just the book on March 14th at 9:11AM, and one that was for the book and the Shortening game expansion pack, on March 15th at 10:08PM. For neither order have I yet received an e-mail.
Just under 37 hours passed from the time I placed the first order until I placed the second. My first order was number 7130. The second order was number 8128. Assuming their order numbers increment by 1 with each order, that means they received almost 1,000 orders in that 37 hours. So it would seem likely that they do indeed have a large number of pre-orders to get through! :)
Order number 6765, and I received my shipping notice yesterday just after 2pm (UK time)...suggests they'll get to yours soon, if they're going in order number; don't know if they're working over the weekend, though!
My order number is 11631 and I got my shipping notice 8/3. The USPS shipping status still says "no record of this item." I'm beginning to suspect that the first status update I'll get will be "delivered to resident."
That might (just might!) be because they haven't sent them all yet. They expect to be done tomorrow, but the original ETA was Monday.
Given that people were talking about if they did or did not recieve their emails, I was commenting on that simple thing.
Given that I'm order 8508, and people who ordered both earlier and later than me are recieving their emails, I'm guessing it's being done either by last name (a terrible thing for me, since my last name starts with "P" ), or it's being done by location.
Eh. I waited 5 months for this book. I can wait another few days.

Hmm, survey among those who got it, what does your last name start with?
My brother and I both have (different) last names that begin with 'B', ours have both arrived.
Ahah! Proof that people with last names that start with Y, B, X, and Q get extra treatment! (Totally a K for my friend, who's copy has mysteriously disappeared for a few days as I read it)

I doubt it's last name--mine starts with a K as well, so since Mutant Sheep's friend has already received his, and my shipping e-mail only turned up on Friday...
I'm pretty sure they aren't done shipping, and when they are we will all get our emails. I don't have my e-mail yet either, but I don't think there's anything to worry about yet.

My last initial is O and my order number is 10165. Placed my order (I think) April 6th. Haven't received a email yet.
I ordered 4 books in total, I was wondering if maybe they had been shipping single order envelopes first?
That's a good question, since I had ordered 2 books and still don't have an email.

I've ordered three books, my order number is 9004, and my last name starts with an R. I got my shipping notice mail a week ago, shipping to Germany.
So far I can see no system; based on what people are reporting here, the order processing seems fairly random.
Looking at what people have been posting so far, I tend to agree that there is at least some randomness to these mailouts. I placed my order for two books on Mar 15 at 2208 hours PDT and had an order #8127 (Ha! beat you by one number chorpler). My last name starts with an M, I got the email last Sunday; left Houston, TX on Monday; arrived in Portland, OR Tuesday; made it to Roseburg, OR Wednesday; was placed in my mailbox on Thursday. I was very glad to get the books as soon as I did but could not have complained if I had been further back in the mailing list. I just hope that all you readers overseas don't have some of the Customs problems that sometimes happen.

Aw, man! ;) So it does seem like order-of-ordering doesn't matter. I still haven't gotten any e-mail, a week after you.
I'm #10967, and someone in the 11000's already got their email, so that's double confirmation that it's not in order. My bet is on geographic location, personally.

Which leads me to wonder... Has anyone in Florida gotten an email for their book?

I have word from Ookoodook that they had a minor medical emergency for the person in charge of the actual stuffing of envelopes, so I would expect that there will be a few days added to the last estimate of "done this weekend."
As far as the order in which orders are being shipped, I have no idea, but I would guess that complicated orders (i.e. a book, a t-shirt of such-and-such a size, a poster, and a game, for example) are lagging behind simpler orders.

Oh geez, I hope their ok!
Although the snarky part of me has to wonder why there was no one else trained to the level of 'stuff stuff in envelopes' :P
