Keep in mind the following! You are not supposed to reveal details about your PC to others nor should you spread knowledge and results of your actions.
You can share fun facts. You can discuss ideas like hustlertwo's idea etc...
Rules questions are still best asked directly at your own thread!
Lastly if we see this goes out of hand or knowledge from here used IC we will shut it down...
Play nice and enjoy!

Well, let me take this point to say that while I have a basic idea for the rules of the fighting ring (and discussed it with Plans a couple weeks ago), I'm inclined to take suggestions from the peanut gallery on some of it. For one, I figured animal companions, familiars, and any sort of class feature helper will be allowed, but any cohorts (wild or otherwise) or Leadership followers will not. But I'm a bit unsure as to whether I should allow non-class-feature mounts acquired either through purchase or capture. I was initially going to say no, but now I'm thinking yes.
As a note, I'm out of town until 8-15-11 and will be posting at a much slower rate until I return.

Also, looking forward to seeing how it all goes.
Real men ride awesome mounts.

It's warded to automatically cast Revivify (spared no expense). So the damage isn't non-lethal, but no one dies anyhow.
Basic rules:
-The aforementioned thing that says yes to animal companions, familiars, and something that is a class feature, and no to cohorts, followers, and anything else acquired by feats or any purchased helpers (unless it's a feat that improves your AC or something like that).
-At least to start, the matches will be one on one. First one to go down or surrender is the loser.
-500 gold to enter, the prize to the winner will be half of all the entry fees (I think the first tournament is to be 16 participants, but Plans might have to refresh me on that, so in that one it means the winner takes 4,000 gold). Second place will get a magical item of some kind, whose value is guaranteed to be more than the entry fee. XP is awarded for every match (and some even when you lose). I don't recall the numbers for that offhand. All slots in a tournament not taken up by PCs will be taken up by NPCs.
-No pre-buffing.
-Might change it later, but for this first one it is an endurance-type round. One hour elapses between rounds (during which you cannot do anything). Buffs that last longer than an hour will carry over to the next fight. Spells and power points won't be replenished, same with rages, flurries of blows, so on and so forth. Damage taken remains; you can't heal it in between matches (but can heal it in matches, of course)
-NPCs will lose random amounts of HP in each round to simulate the degradation of their matches (and NPC mages will consume spells in a similar fashion).
-If a match is being unnecessarily stalled, the current fighting ring manager will dip into his Boring Box. It contains a nasty assortment of ranged weapons and combat items to be used on whoever is ticking the crowd off. Mechanics-wise, this can be translated as anyone who either hides or runs away for five rounds or longer without taking an offensive action.
I think that's it, but if anyone else can think of something to add, feel free.
Well, you've got until Riz gets on and does my identifies and such before it starts. But if you can't come up with the money by then, it might be doable.
By the by, don't let this stop you in any way, but I do believe the Arena is illegal... which means if there's anybody out there whose character actually follows Aldhaven law, you may not wish to partake. As entertaining as this sounds, I'm sad to say my character wouldn't.
Unless some of the creatures were of the species reptilia aldhoppania. Then I might come watch. Hustler, you got some of those?

Aldhavenian Jumping Snakes? Those are an urban legend.
As it's a nonlethal fighting ring in a city where literally dozens of people appear to be murdered every day (and that's just by the PCs), I don't imagine the legal response to be particularly stringent.
I hate to admit it, but I did read the first few posts of one. I saw all these AVB threads all over the IC forum and looked at the first five or six posts to determine what it meant, then noticed the Recruiting thread linked in the OP's sig. I haven't done more than that, and not since joining.
we understand that the IC threads are our biggest recruitment threads, but we do ask that once you know better that you stop, and we do not tolerate anyone who uses information in another person's thread.

:O hax!
And Moranica, you're on what, your third character? :P Are you sure you want to risk going onto the fourth by attacking someone? :P

Actually, still my first character, with some modifications. And I've never actually killed someone yet. Still, he accomplished quite a bit imo.
oh no, this is definitely your third character, merely the same build three times. Each one though dies or lives by his own self. Otherwise, the Korps would still be hunting you down.
As for reading threads.. I don't remember who's PC it was, but I read like 8 pages of one.. I had no idea what AVB was.. And the thread was really funny to read.. I always felt bad about that.. And then one day I saw the main street thread, had the guy listed as dead.. I was quite sad..
