"Oh, would you? I would appreciate it very much. I want to get back, but if that's impossible for some reason, it's nice to have some friends! And somewhere to stay until I find a university or something. Maybe I'll have to get a real home..."
That's a big thought for a student to have to face.
"Nah, more likely I'll wind up going on adventures. It seems like adventure's getting a taste for me, and vice-versa".
"Did I promise that? Seriously?" Riv turns to Icarus, who hesitates a moment then nods. "Ugh. Fine. There's nothing you can do that I can't do better, given the time, but I do keep my word. You'll get her back with everything still attached, although I can't promise you she won't have a few scars more than the ones you carved into her." Rubbing his temples, Riv turns and walks towards the lift, the others following him. "Come on, haven't got all day for this ****, between murderers and trying to actually get some work done I'm running on no time at all."
Julie's Place- Stairs
The Politician's expression never wavers, his face giving no indication of whether or not the lust aura is working, eyes hidden and remote behind the hook-nosed mask. But other things give it away. A certain shift in posture as it becomes harder to stay standing, his fingers suddenly clenching as he tries to move them despite the unexpected loss of control. He's doing better against the trick than most would, but still, he's vulnerable. "What perilous leaps of logic you make, miss. Perchance I am not such a poisonous personage as you appear to believe. This, a mere attempt to ply you into a promise, pact or pledge? Perish the thought."
He grins suddenly, a very unusual expression for one so usually dispassionate, leaning against the railings in an attempt to disguise his increasing weakness. A single bead of blood drips from beneath his mask as he continues, talking faster now. "Now, I won't dispute your point, indeed, you're precisely right. I am indeed here for my own amusement, but.... Well, perhaps that's not incompatible with helping you. The fact of the matter is, what I want you to do is exactly what you're doing, so, ah, well, it's simply in my best interests to ensure success." My, all that elegance and alliteration sure does vanish fast in the face of a simple magic trick.

Rael relaxes, quills settling, and follows Riv and his escort, unless stopped. Fortunately, his scales and the beak likely hide the fact that he's rather amused at the fact that Riv forgot the particulars of their deal in just a few minutes, as I'd imagine that it makes the vampire quite a bit harder to read.

While that doesn't set her miind at ease, it does explain something. He's not here for her. To him, she's another weapon he can acquire and wield. She's played that role before, and most of her former wielders have found her to be quite the double edged sword.
The lust aura cuts as quickly as it began, although a light teasing of it remains behind to remind him it could be back at any moment. A threat and a promise, all rolled into one.
"I'll keep you in mind sug. I can't say I'll endeavor to please you with what I do, but if I happen to do something you enjoy then we'll both win in the end. I think I'd like that calling card now though, just the same. It's too late in the evening to talk business, and I'm too sober and heartbroken to do business."
She holds out her hand imperiously, a spec of dried blood on her index fingernail. Whether or not he hands her the card, she intends to walk up the stairs after this.
Tina pushes her eggs around, scrambling them, dumping a few spices into the mix. Her eyes drift back to Evan, brow furrowed. He sounds a bit down.
"Oh, we'd talk about everything. Augments, jobs, clubs, the future. Boys." She smiles, a measure of nostalgia in her features. "Girls, sometimes. Well, at least, me and Gelley. Naitiri always got quiet when things like that came up." The musician shakes her head. "Gelley used to tease her about it. They'd get on each other's nerves quick." Tina waggles her eyebrows. "You shoulda seen the fights those two got into. Talk about property damage..."
He continues to seem a bit down as he listens, and is apparently just... lost in thought. He nods to what she says though, so he is indeed listening. Tina might be able to tell, if she's observant that he's feeling... lonely. Tina's great company, but he's never really had a family to share things with.
