Late to the squee-party about the Neil Gaiman sneak-attack (well, here, at least).
No, Rich, no: not unprofessional in the slightest. Gaussian Blur, rainbows, rains of hearts and and a dance around the room would not be over-doing it, either.

I suggest hiding behind the couch until we know it's safe.
Seriously though, that is just awesome. It's probably too much to hope Neil Gaiman actively follows OOTS, right?... yeah, sounds like way too much.

The Atlas is also goofy but it has that whole "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man" menacing smile thing going for it. The guy who drew that one up was obviously taken to the Nutcracker when he was a child... and he was screaming in terror the entire time.

From New Zealand, just a brief mention along with an excerpt from the Forbes piece, but I think it is important to note that folks are now pointing to OOTS' Kickstarter success as an indication of important ground breaking trends in publishing. Rich Burlew, Pioneer.
Wow, I didn't know that Taika Waititi had a Kickstarter to launch Boy in the States. Another project I can get behind; I love that movie. It's not perfect, but it is excellent. The only movie I've ever been to where the audience applauded at the end.
I'm not sure the OOTS Kickstarter drive will ever be replicated, it's a unique event. Thanks again for letting me participate, Rich!

What are you talking about? Queens is a borough of New York City and a county in New York State, one of two on Long Island (the other is Brooklyn which is closer to Manhattan, Brooklyn is sometimes known as Kings County but nobody calls it that). Queens is probably one of the most ethnically diverse places in the world; over 150 languages are spoken there.
King of Queens was a TV show starring Kevin James about a man and his wife who lived in Queens. Hence the king of Queens.
*tee hee* Check out the Kickstarter comments section...

OK...NOW the comic will be delayed because my head exploded.
"I NEED A LINK RIGHT NOW." Hee. So did we add "subject of a tweet by Neil Gaiman" on our long list of achievements? I should go check. It's certainly more impressive than a bunch of the other stuff on there.

Achievement Unlocked - A Head Goes Kersplooie (Be the subject of a tweet from Neil Gaiman)
He was also in an Arthur episode. That my friends, is a sign of greatness. (He also kinda... does just about everything cool.)
Don't forget Simpsons episode (we made a thread about the stick figures in this episode).
