Bonus Feat

At 2nd level and every five psion levels thereafter, you gain a bonus feat. You must choose a metapsionic feat, an item creation feat, or Expanded Knowledge. You must still meet all prerequisites for the bonus feat, including minimum manifester level requirements. These bonus feats are in addition to the feats that a character of any class gets from advancing levels. You are not limited to the categories of item creation feats, metapsionic feats, or Expanded Knowledge when choosing those feats.

So do I get psicrystal affinity as a free feat or not? Since a extra feat would be nice, all things considered. <.<

Anyway, after some research and difficulty I found out what was the comparative worth of a single spell level (Aka 1 hit point) against power points at level 3:

In simplicity its 2.33. 1 Spell level at level 3 is worth 2.33 power points.

Thus, we can have psionics working under the new spell system with power points! Yay! They now work in reverse, instead of loosing power points you build up power points.

So casting a Power at 1 Power point you take no damage, but when you cast 2 points more you take damage. Because of the 0.33 part casting 7 power points is worth 3 damage not. Create Astral construct bypasses this system rather stupidly so It works by costing 2.33 to manifest and 2.33 to increase.

This also leads to increased flexibility in casting time. So if I wanted to cast only 1 power point worth at level 3 then its mana bar would be 4.

This also leads to changes in the metamagic system. So now casting "Empower Power" costs 4.66 more and extend power costs 2.33 more.

I thought 1 spell level was = to 2 pp? Each level of powers adds 2 pp, except for first level, probably so that first level psions can actually manifest something. As such for example level two powers cost 1+2*(2-1). The formula is Tn=1+2*(n-1). I could be understanding incorrectly though.

Well I assume I'd probably know we're in the vault because of some sort of catastrophe right? Not sure what exactly the cleansing wars are, but I assume it'd be possibly to logically extrapolate from that to the arcane caster being responsible for the catastrophe, whatever that catastrophe might be?

OK. I need help again.

If Two power points= 1 spell level then why is it so wonky at lower levels?

At level 9 thats stuff exact. Assimilate costs 17 divided by two is roughly 9.

But for lower level things like Energy ray you need to invest up to five points to get what Ear Piercing Shriek does for 1 equivalent spell level. In order to be able to compete with spell level efficiency you must always use high level spells!

What should I do? Whats the formula for all this? How can I make this work flexibly?

The first level spells only costing 1 pp is what causes the wonkiness, this s probably so that first level psions can manifest powers.

Umm, I must admit the swallowing of the pill was a bit of railroading. Couldn't we have attempted sleight of hand checks to make it seem like we swallowed the pill while in fact we didn't? To be sure I'd have probably failed it but still.

Since you mention it, there was a miscalculation. Your right, a Spell level is worth 2 power points. Makes things a bit simpler I suppose.

Also, take Psionic mediation off your resume. Where is your Wis 13 score?
