I'm not quite sure why we use the baseball metaphor in the UK. I guess it's because a cricket metaphor probably just wouldn't work as well...
Anyways, as I always heard it, first base is kissing, French or otherwise. Second is hand-on-genital stimulation. Moving stuff up a bit gets round the issue of the XKCD cartoon's 'boring zone'
It still causes quite a bit of dissonance when I see TV shows use 'second' to refer to French kissing, as my mind immediately assumes things far more... intimate
Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Well, it's not a full-on Fry meme, but two tipped hats will do.

Ah, so without looking back on it I guess I was kind of close...
Given the fact the metaphor is totally uncommon in Germany and I was mostly guessing.
I'm glad we have no equivalent... the only thing that comes to mind is soccer as the most popular sport in Germany... Not enough zones.
That security bot looks like he would crush Hanners trying...
Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Someone rubbing their hands on man's chest is sexual aswell. It may not be a boob/nipple focused, but there is something just about the act that screams intimacy.

Time for wild guessing!
Station has hacked into Momo, and will now project from her eyes so that he can be with Hannelore even if she is on Earth. Incidentally, this means that he has the power to access any computer anywhere against its will, making him basically God.

God? Even an atheist like me knows he is still far away from being god... But it would make him ppretty powerful...
I'm a bit surprised Momo's eyes are even able to project holograms.. (yeah, a little late) She never before demonstrated that ability, did she?

Being able to control all information in the world makes you as much of a god as physically possible. 1984 and all that.

Despite what smartphone and other device manufacturers would like you to believe, a huge amount of information is still processed in the traditional manner, either on paper or on computers with no internet connection. Total loss of internet access would be a problem, but not an insurmountable one.

Loss? That's terribly unsubtle of an intellect capable of running an entire space station while drunk.

Ah, but you said God with a capital G which usually refers to the... judeo-christian (?) hod who's marked by both omniscience as well as omnipotence. Admittedly, he'd be close to the former but still parsecs from the latter.
Also, even though access to any computer in the world grants a huge amount of information there is still a lot the would elude him.

Yeah, I know. I'm wondering why Amazon thinks it's relevant to have the .com address go to them. Not many people really type in addresses in the URL bar any more, do they?

You'd be surprised, actually.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Chances are it's not Amazon itself, but a typo squatter who uses this for profit. I'm guessing it sends you to Amazon with a referrer link, so that if enough people misdirected there ends up buying stuff, the typo squatter gets some cash out of the deal.
The most common type of typo squatters are those who just embed the real site in an iframe (or scrape it with some more elaborate means) and add their own ads. That way they get ad revenue and the people don't notice they went to the wrong URL.
What I'm trying to say is that typo squatters are sleazy leeches.

Yep, based on the address that displays after being redirected, it's a referrer link.

*raises hand* I do! All the time, actually. The way I type, it's generally quicker if the URL is short enough, as most webcomic URLs are (though I do tend to use the arrow keys to select the site from the drop-down list if it's visible there after typing the first few characters).

Yeah, she does have issues with criticism, doesn't she?
