I'm sorry for not paying much attention to this game. I've been wrapped up a bit too much in Sanctuary for the last couple weeks.
Eh, unless you decide to back us up incase of another door, you've probably got a bit of time for a breather both IC and OOC.
That post was supposed to have been made yesterday, but my computer was being retarded, and I had to be at work from 4 am until 13 minutes ago, so a little bit of mental rest was required.
Are we going to level up any time soon? I know some DMs pace their PbP games differently in terms of giving levels. It isn't uncommon for a DM to give out levels to his players every month of game-play, while others make their players wait for almost a year.
Are we going to level up together, or separately, based on the amount of use our skills have been put to?
I tend to go by how fast the story is going (more events=faster gain). Each of you levels at your own rate, but things should stay mostly even.
Also, now that you have me thinking about it, everyone should have got some XP from the battle before. 800 XP sounds right to me, so each of you should add that to your totals now.

Also, I believe Tarmikos is in front, since he's faster, and began moving first.
.... and since you asked, that probably means I'm about to need healing.
Edit: A Natural 20! Nice. How do you roll like that so it shows your roll, then the total?
And how do you have a -7 to your perception mods!?! Dang!
Hopefully ActualPrisoner, Digan, Halaza, and Jesskya will be coming along, although Psymple doesn't seem to have appeared at all in a couple of days; same for Hazuki for the sake of finding out where Zrehka has been...

Additional Edit: Could have been worse, I suppose. No chance to Tumble to reduce some of the fall, I bet. Need I roll a spot / listen to determine the area around me? Or am I just in a pit?

Just in a pit.

You can't use tumble because there is no room to tumble in the pit. On the other hand, this kind of thing is what Feather Fall was made for, so that's fine.

Huh. Didn't think you needed room for Tumbling. I always thought it was like, mid air flips and such, tuck into a ball and roll. Ah well. I learned something today!
I'll flavor a post later. I have dinner guests. Tarmikos used a racial ability to slow his fall down, taking no damage! Woot! Wanted to fluff it with magic dragon wings arresting his fall, but that'd be a bit silly.

The rules don't say one way or the other, but that's the way I see it (If you've played Ocriana of Time, think of how you roll to reduce falls there. That's the way I see it, and the hole's not big enough for that.) Either way, you're fine since you can Feather Fall.
Completely random question: Have any of you signed up for the D&D Next public playtest?

Yes. I have read through the majority of the playtest files. Pretty good stuff, all in all. Next seems to run very similar to 3.5e, albeit simplified and somewhat more balanced. I especially love that each ability can be used for saving throws, and that the skill system has been done away with. The DM has to do a bit more work, but it flows nicely and is more logical 3rd or 4th Edition.
It might be the solution.

Yeah. Personally, my favorite thing is way spells are set up, but I do also like the dropping of skills. I do agree that this might be just what is needed. I need to get a local group together to try them out.

Now I need to go play Ocarina of Time again just to throw Link off of cliffs.

Nope. ;.;
Despite 3.5's many flaws, it's all I've got. And I'm enjoying it still. Mainly because I don't know how to do anything else, and change terrifies me.

I will look at it definitely, but only once it is actually finished. Whenever I follow things in beta stages too closely I always find one thing I like which is invariably changed and butchered out of the game >.>... So I will wait until the final version comes out and I can enjoy that.
It is a playtest of D&D Next, also known as 5th Edition. Wizards just released the demo material to people on their servers who signed up early for it.

I am. I keep contemplating posting Algrith jumping the pit but I'm waiting to see what Imaran and Digin are going to do. Plus, Tarmikos is down in the pit.
Algrith, right now, has a silent image of the captured uniform thief walking very, very slowly down the hallway, hoping to throw anyone who sees it off. Plus, that might give us an idea on how they react against that.
