"Glassjaw" Anoush made a name for himself in the past for hunting fiends with his unique combat style. Despite not being physically strong and not wielding any handy armaments, there was never a more potent weapon in his arsenal than his unparalleled force of will and his unyielding convictions. A deep scar left by a Barbazu assault marks a particularly vulnerable area in his lower jaw--a reminder for him to stay out of the enemies' reach.
Not much is known about his origins, except that his mother was a villager who died giving birth to him. His uncle, a local baker named Istvan, was left to take care of him when he was a kid. He was told at an early age that his half-celestial father, who was then a member of the Servants of the Holy Light, left them for an important mission but was never seen again.
He was ostracized by society after finding out his fiend-ish magic, not knowing that celestials also bless mortals with such powers. That awful treatment is now nothing more but a memory of the past, after his selfless acts of heroism saved his own village (and others as well) time and again. He made quite a few friends, and he thus never had to worry about sleeping in cold pavement.
He joined the Servants of the Holy Light (where his father's death during a mission was confirmed) to aid others in fighting evil beings. However, despite joining the organization, he is frequently described as a lone ranger of sorts when traveling, with his trusted owl as his only company. The few times that he was assigned with a group, he usually takes the role of either scouting ahead or guarding the flank. He prefers traveling at night, though--partly because of his own tactical advantage, but mostly as an insult and taunt to the foul fiends who usually employ cowardly tactics in the dark.
Lately, with his newfound abilities of flight, he has no problems vanquishing fiends likes Chain Devils and Bebiliths who often wade into melee. Of course, stronger and smarter fiends sometimes get the best of him, taking advantage of their flight to close in and hit his weak spot.
Dibs on Dark Green for Anoush. Maybe Dark Olive Green too if his familiar Marji ever needs to telepathically speak.
EDIT: IC says there are only five of us, but the recruitment thread has six picks (where Anoush is the last one) so I guess it's better to wait for tigerusthegreat's confirmation before making an IC post.
Vassikyn and Yssa are both here and reporting for duty. Vassikyn will speak in slate grey. Bolded slate grey will denote that Yssa is speaking, if that ever happens.

TinyTeene will take the colour of the almighty Teal.
I think that is all.

Zombie Invasion
I lived through the Invasion of the Zombies and all I got was this lousy signature thingie made by a lazy narrator. Go me! Nexus of the Future
Born the second son of Earl Kael Helft of Helfthaven, by the age of 13 Heilan was already a typical "spare heir", no servant girl was safe from his persuasions. Earl Kael despaired of his son and packed him off for martial training with an order of crusaders who refocused his energy towards his training.
Heilan chose to continue his training with swordsmanship and dedicate himself to godly works but his romantic nature shines through at times.
Heilan has balanced his approach to conflict, he strives to follow the guidance of God but feels called by the clash of battle. Although he is always willing to try diplomacy he doesn't object if it fails, Violence is an ugly solution but so much more permanent.
a select few peope know of "Heilan Wraith-bane", for once a wraith attacked his party while he was on watch but before the others could fully gird themselves for battle he had laid its soul to a permanent rest.
There are those who laugh at memories of "Heilan the nude", after one battle where his sword and armour were consumed by rust monsters.
I haven't rolled HPs yet so here we go:
6d10+2d12+1d8+30
Action Before Thought
Wall of Blades
Iron Heart Surge
@Tigris: Sorry, bad planning on my part, didn't realise we were going to need mounts, will they be provided or should I swap some equipment around?
Spoiler
(Specifically lose my spool of endless rope (1800gp) for a Warhorse (400gp), Military saddle (60gp) and light chain barding (equivelant of chain shirt, 400gp) + lance and Longbow and assorted chump change.
Then I'll take the freebee and hope that we don't end up doing too much mounted combat.
If we end up doing so I'll look to purchase an upgrade in game.
Will the servants be providing a spare mount for the girl we are kidnapping rescuing?
Yes.
If anyone has any questions about things that their characters should already know about the order, post them here. That way we don't have the weird "you already know this, but here's a bunch of information" IC
I have a question.
What is the terrain like between here and the coast village, and how long of a distance are we supposed to be going?

The distance is about 300 miles, so the journey there will be quite a long one. The terrain is varied, the quickest route being along one of the main trade roads for most of the journey.
Sorry for the delay, I will post more tomorrow. Rado will speak in Royal Blue as Orange is already taken. Please give me a few more hours to read up on the story and post IC. Oh, and thank you for taking Rado!

Just so you know, you've travelled a total of 40 miles, but following the roads as they are, its more like 30 linear miles.
So far the roads are still good, and you've not yet reached the swamps. The roads are good for another 30 linear miles or so, and start to degrade, and the swamps start in earnest about 20 linear miles after that.
I've assumed you'll be wearing insignias of the Servants while still around the Citadel. Its not common for warriors such as yourselves to be around the area unless they are part of the Servants. However, as you get further out, there are more of the adventuerer type that isn't aligned with the Servants. If you are not wearing an insignia of some sort, let me know and I'll stop assuming you are.
Heilans armour is emblazoned with the servants insignia, his ordinary clothing was bearing the insignia when the party was in the citadel but when almost in the swamps the insignia have vanished.
Spoiler
Heilan is spending most of his time with armour and weapon kept within the ring of arming, its more comfortable to travel (and sleep) that way. his AC is 13 while not wearing armour
I'm assuming that Heilan introduced himself. But yeah...
Regardless, Teene will only be wearing an insignia on her shoulder, as her formal military attire dictates.
This will probably be on all the time.
And does anyone have any thoughts about what'll be in that forest beyond hording undead? (i.e. zombies, ghouls, wights)

I was assuming that we must have all met before, or at least heard stories of each other, A Party of L10 characters assembled for the purpose of guarding the prophecied one, who will break the cycle... I mean that shouts elite team, best of the best... We should all know about each other, even if we don't know all the details.
But as described in the IC thread, Heilan will have introduced himself and discussed some of his past deeds, just in case someone didn't know.
Feel free to look at his Character sheet, which has background story in the notes section.
As a Crusader Heilan is every bit as religious as the Paladins, he's just more relaxed about it.
Forest? what forest? the swamp lies ahead of us... I wouldn't of argued as hard about forests but swamps are nasty places. Regardless, We shouldn't waste time trying to clear every evil out from the swamps although I'm sure that plenty will come looking for us.

Oppsies, I accidentally typed forest in for swamp. What was I thinking?
Probably I was rushing because I thought the forum would shut down on me any moment.
But yeah, I'm almost certain we're going to be slowed anyway by the terrain, if anything.

Hmm, is there a correct path with which to take then? As mentioned, the swamp description makes it sound that the said route would be an awful choice.
Anyway, Glassjaw Anoush has the insignia on his person at all times, although it usually is carefully hidden beneath his shirt; he's genre-savvy enough to now that there will be situations where wearing it proud is a bad idea. He also keeps the insignia hidden so that it will be less harder to steal or get accidentally taken off him.

There is no right choice, each path holds its own set of advantages and disadvantages.
There is a wrong choice, thats what we chose, the swamp.
The swamp is the worst choice (for our group) as we are mostly a heavy armour group navigating through terrain that punishes the wearers of such equipment (one miss-step and a character drowns?) where the road maintainance will be minimal so our pace of travel will be slowed.
At least we will have plenty of adventure, as all the undead come out to fight us.
