Oh, and everybody in the table is considered present. If somebody doesn't post his character is dithering about things, and may or may not be assumed to be going along with the group.
And yes, I'm going to use Inferes to kick things along until I step down and let Zeronumerous take over, which I will do with gratitude.

Meh, this forum is the most unstable place I've ever frequented and I'm old and evil. That's why I'm only a Bugbear in spite of my membership going back 5 years.
So, Cadfeal Kendrick the half mad Duergar is ready for play. As he is currently a sort of free-lance heavy working in the area, I thought it would be alright if he and Esseandra already had a working relationship. She has problems with overly pushy customers on occasion, Cadfeal goes and scares them a little-and he can be scary. Since our first arc involves the Madam's business, I figured that would be a good way to involve Cadfeal in the story naturally. Unless you had any objections Malak'ki?
Cadfeal will speak in Dark Orange.
A small backstory, and HP rolls to follow.

“He strides among the tree-tops and is taller than the trees/And his voice through all the garden is thunder sent to bring.”
~Excerpt from the Scrolls of Malfeas
Long ago, before the advent of Time, the Empyreal Chaos and his Baernoloth compatriots battled and lost against the Gods of Law. From the bodies of the Baernoloths the Great Wheel was created, bound together by great cold iron bands forged from a dying star by the Smith Moradin. With his last breath, the Empyreal Chaos cursed Moradin’s hammer, that his next creation should fall prey to the machinations of the reborn Malfeas. It came to pass that Moradin forgot the curse, and with his hammer created the dwarves. The madness of the 627th Layer of the Abyss infected some of these dwarves, resulting in the Duergar. Deep within the mountains they went, fleeing from their more numerous, sane counterparts.
There they thrived. The Duergar created a vast underground empire, rivaling that of the Drow. With skin pale as snow, the Duergar cursed the god that created them, searching for a way to break free of their stone prison-for that is what the Underdark became. It was then that one was contacted by Malfeas. His name was Cadfeal Kendrick, and even amongst the Duergar, he was considered slightly off his rocker. Cadfeal was an incredibly focused individual, but a loner, searching the edges of Duergar territory for something, anything, that would let his people back into the sun.
What he found was a brilliant green light, spilling from a bronze statue. The statue was impossibly old, and branded with runes in a language dead, yet truly understandable. Cadfeal prostrated himself before the statue, and was spoken to by Malfeas, the remnant of the Empyreal Chaos which was formed into the 627th Layer of the Abyss. Cadfeal was blessed with the power of that most ancient being, its evil radiation filling Cadfeal. Within the statue Cadfeal found a pair of simple lenses made of black glass. With them upon his forehead, Cadfeal found he could see in the blinding light of the surface world without issue. Without a second thought, Cadfeal took his opportunity, and left his cavern-bound race behind.
For a while, Cadfeal simply walked. He hunted when he needed food, and reveled in the sky above his head. Eventually, however, he found his way to the city of Raython. It was a peculiar city, by his people’s standards. Members of practically every race and people intermingled there. A far cry from the xenophobic lands of his people, but for Cadfeal, it was a stroke of luck. Within the city, Cadfeal quickly acquired a reputation as something of a trouble maker. He still retained his species’ view that all things belonged to the Duergar, and had somewhat of a difficult time grasping the need to pay others, especially when the power given to him by Malfeas often allowed him to simply take what he wanted.
It was then that Cadfeal met her. An elderly Svirfneblin named Ordos. Ordos ran a small time protection scheme amongst a few shops in the area Cadfeal made his home, and when the guard eventually came down on Cadfeal, Ordos gave him a place to hide. Cadfeal was grateful, and Ordos explained to him how things worked within the city walls. Offered a position on the protection ring, Cadfeal joined as Ordos’ heavy. It was an arrangement Cadfeal could understand: the strong took tribute from the weak, and in return did not crush their belongings.
Of course, it didn’t take long for Cadfeal to wonder why he was taking orders from Ordos. Which prompted an interesting discovery on Cadfeal’s part; that he actually felt something other than disgust for another person outside of his own race.
Since then, Cadfeal and Ordos have parted ways, though on friendly terms. Cadfeal now operates as a free-lance “private investigator” for people who don’t necessarily care in what condition the people they want found arrive in. He still maintains contact with Ordos, but also has ties with several other less than legal enterprises within the city. More than once he has found himself in the employ of one Esseandra Ale’lyl, a Half-Drow who runs a rather successful brothel. He himself does not partake in the pleasures Esseandra offers, having made his position of mating only within the species quite clear.

No news is good news.
And it occurs to me that I am incredibly selfish and thoughtless to throw you a bunch of NPC names when only myself and one other player knows who these people are.
Editing.
Not elegantly.
Photon Lancer, Full Auto Fire.
The potion was a potion of Feather-Fall, the language was Draconic, The scroll was a scroll of Silence, now used and useless, but still identifiable.
I wonder why I am thinking that the broken mirror is important. I was thinking something came out of it, but now I am thinking a character that is ashamed of their appearance. interesting

I am kinda sad at my lack of diplomacy. Could I try to bluff her into thinking she is safe?
