Default Epic level game in the works.

I'm looking for players for a Play-by-Post game here on this site. The theme of the game will be fiends having taken over several worlds in the material plane, and there being a resistance movement to stop them.

The game will be starting at level 24, and you can apply one template (so long as it's not overpowered) to your character, feel free to use any homebrew or third party material you like, (again, so long as it's not overpowered, like the immortals handbook series). You can have leadership feats and cohorts and what not.

If you're interested in this please post here!

assuming its d&d 3.5 i find myself potentially interested. Fairly heavily depends on any restrictions/16.

also interested to know how the rebels leveled to 24 without being discovered and crushed! clearly the complacent fiendish regime must be purged.

would the template be free or would there simply be a limit of one per customer?

Kind of wary of a game that openly allows 'any third party or homebrew content' but what the hey, don't need third party to break the game. just personal bias there.

I might not have clarified, but the template is with out any level adjustment.

Cool, I was thinking Wizard 6/Cleric 3/Mystic Theurge 10/ Archmage 5 myself with a bit of the saint template thrown in there.

GMPCs are a bit tricky to handle. Since you know the whole campaign, it is very hard to not make them Mary Sues.

Yeah, I am aware of that. I've done DMPCs before, and the best thing I've found to do generally have them leave the party often and generally be rather quiet.

A 16 would be nice, but this seems entertaining. A cleric fits best for this game. I'm torn between a Bone Knight death cultist and Sacred Exorcist/Radiant Servant/Divine Oracle. Does the LA-free template come without prerequisites? I'd like to add the saint template, but the exalted feats requirement is harsh.

probably something caster. depends on how high the template La can be. other options are probably preferable due to most everyone aiming for a caster when it comes to epic. depends on if we could trade having a template for reducing racial LA.

You can add the saint template without the prerequisites. I've never required them in games I've done before.

I see.

What method are we using for stats? Standard wealth by level?

If we could get the 16 up...

I'm very very interested in this. I don't see any melee yet. I have some ideas floating around in my head (psion, monk/psychic warrior, assassin, warmage, dragonfire adept...) I'll figure it out. :p please post a 16 asap so I can finalize my choice.

Stats are how ever you want to build them. I generally use 5d6 throw out the lowest two.

Standard Wealth by level. Which I believe for 24th level is 1,800,000.

You can use the tome magic item rules if you want, I probably will.

Should I create an topic in the OoC or do we keep going here?

Are we sticking with the standard rules on permanency, or are we going full crazy on the power level, and allowing whatever we like to permanenced?

Edit: And you shouldn't create an OOC until you know who is playing.

So we roll 5d6b3? Okay. I'm thinking an Aasimar, with class levels of Paladin 8 / Pious Templar 8 / Knight of the Chalice 8. Nice, well rounded, with a variety of immunities, plenty of auras and some not-half-bad spellcasting. Plus they'd be pretty good in melee.

looking into unbodied psion (telepath), thri-kreen monk2/psychic warrior20 vow of poverty, warforged scout warmage (instead of a template could get air elemental subtype?) or a dragonfire adept

a controler, a dps tank, a blaster, or a support

any suggests for what party needs the most

I'll primarily be support, but I can easily wade into melee. My build is lesser aasimar cleric of Pelor 5/divine oracle 2/sacred exorcist 5/radiant servant 5/contemplative 7, with the saint template.

Edit: Are doing LA-buyoff? That lesser aasimar might get upgraded if we are.

I read all about your flock of birds. I want to know what roles still need to be filled so that I can put together a character to fit that role. I'm not arguing and I want trying to brag about the controlling, I just want to know what type of character we need from my ideas. Not that multiple controllers is bad

I don't think we have someone who's a primary melee, like a fighter or barbarian or something. You could do that, though ultimately it's up to you.

Also, I'm fairly new to this forum (well I've been member for a while, but I haven't posted much). What's this 16 you're talking about?

Full casting cleric = everything is a melee monster. So, LA buyoff and permanency? Rulings?
