It isn't a prestige class, it's a class alternative with three substitute levels from 4th to 6th level. Your HD becomes d8, you add a couple of class skills (Knowledge [arcana]) and Spellcraft), replace Turn Undead with bonus spells and some improvements to spellcasting, your Smite gains the ability to disrupt spellcasting and, finally, you lose Remove Disease to instead gain a melee Greater Dispel Magic usable the same number of times per day.
Presumably, in Pathfinder, you'd instead give up Mercy (each Mercy given up giving a use of Spellshatter) and Channel Positive Energy. Would that be okay, or are you definitely against using 3.5 material?

Personally I'm thinking of an orcish or tiefling Inquisitor or Paladin, but I have to re-check the deities' options for Faerun, don't remember any besides Ilmater, Tyr and Mystra.

Ah my mistake, I was confusing it with the Mystic Fire Knight.
I am limiting character creation to paizo specific pathfinder materials only, sorry. I've already had some people request 3.5 and other materials and if I say yes to one then it opens the flood gates for everyone else to ask and I simply don't have time to review tons of alternate options. I think there should be enough options on the SRd for everyone to find something they'd enjoy playing.
I'm fairly sure that there is a trait that allows one to use spell trigger items as if they had a level of an arcane casting class. I'm not sure what it is at the moment, I'm at work and cannot check, but that might give your paladin the arcane flair you're looking for. Besides that I'd rule that a Paladin of Mystra could multiclass as a wizard or sorcerer. There is a precedent for this in earlier editions of DnD. Barring those two options you could fire a bunch of cross-class skills into use magic device. Feats such as Skill Focus could bump up your skill checks even further.
@Larpus: I have yet to receive any completed sheets and this thread has only been open for about three days now so we are definitely still open to new interest.

Then perhaps a simple Bard will suffice, then. An Aasimar Paladin would've been nice, but I don't think there are any Bards yet and those rolls would make for quite the tough and charming Human Bard.

Here's the wip sheet for Godfrey Umber, human Paladin of Torm hailing from the Dalelands. Background is almost written out, will be up later today or when I get it done tomorrow.

Azath has trained all of his long life among the great mages and universities of Silverymoon. But that is not all in Azath's life. The beautiful music, the songs and tales and spells of Silverymoon are as much a part of Azath's heritage as spell-slinging. From his earliest days, Azath has strived to blend them. And he has, deep in worship and study of the great goddes Mystra, Azath found those who practice an ancient art, that of the Spell-Dancer.
At the feet of the Chosen Dadatosh, Azath learned to meld spell, sword and body. He learned the art of the spell-dance, to move his body and sword along the same paths as arcane runes and magic incantations. This art has many styles and elements, and all of them call out the natural magic, grace and wit of the silver elves. The most important element of this style of the Art? At least for Azath, it was constant prayer and meditation on the great gift that is the Weave and Mystra's love and protection.
It was in the service of a high Dweomerkeeper of Mystra that Azath undertook his first steps outside of Silverymoon. A shadow-weave mage had taken up residence in a cave, not twenty leagues from Silverymoon. Azath, passionate follower of Mystra that he was, could no more refuse this holy quest than he could cease breathing. Accompanied by a young human bard and a cleric, Azath led the adventurers into this tomb, and there confronted and destroyed the unholy mage, leaving little doubt to the mage's death. In the cave, Azath found a handful of relics which he treasures to this day, 7 glowing Ioun stones, in the shapes of stars. These seven Stars of Mystra seem to bear no further power, but Azath hopes they can be restored to their greater past power.
Azath takes his service to Mystra as strongly as any Paladin, and in fact, views his tradition, that of the Spellblade, the Magus, as the more true representation of paladins of Mystra. So it comes as no surprise that when a cleric told him that he was needed to help guard the Wheloon temple to Msytra, the first such temple in Cormyr, that he happily left home, for only the second time.

Azath wears a beautifully crafted suit of leaf armor. The treating process has turned every leaf a stunning shade of silver, and all the supplemental elements are a deep blue. Combined with the seven glowing stars that float around his head, Azath appears as walking element of the Night Sky. His white hair is kept in a long ponytail that reaches his mid back, and he wears no helm nor glove, preferring the feel of well-oiled leather pommel to rest against his skin. His pale silver skin is smooth and youthful, and no sadness or frustration ever seems to break through his calm focus.

Azath is kind, reserved, and dedicated. He tends not to make a strong impression on those he meets in conversation, but those who see him fight often come away with a strong memory of the nimble mixer of spell and blade. He believes that balance in magic is the most important factor in the world. He looks at Anauroch, not so far from his home, and sees the threat of too much magic. He looks at the Orcs that need such constant opposition, and he sees the threat of being too far from the helping gifts of magic. Azath will fight to the last inch of strength to oppose evil, and bears a personal code as strict as any Paladin. Azath swears to:
-Help the powerless whenever possible
-Spread the knowledge of any magic he possesses to those who wish it, freely
-Never strike a foe unaware of his presence
-Never gain advantage from a foe distracted (forfiets bonus for flanking, like the Knight)
-Never Use Poison
-Die before accepting dishonor
-Oppose Shar and her minions to death, his or theirs
-Never destroy Weave magic knowledge or items
-Always destroy items or knowledge of the Shadow Weave
-Never affect the mind of another
-Always Obey Mystra, or her priests
These facts define his life. He keeps them in his whenever he dances the Spell-Dance, and will gladly stand to the death to aid a friend, as long as it doesn't impinge these goals.
Azath would never give up his principles for anyone, which is one of the reasons he fears his first true love. Countless stories recount how this will compromise his values and strengths. As a result he tends to retreat from forming strong relationships, or having much interaction with women, especially elven women.
As a fun side note, this is the most I've ever been excited about the Forgotten Realms, and I did more reading for the forgotten realms than I ever did for any other game. Fun.

So many paladins and magic users! I'd like to play an archer. I'll see if the Fighter or Ranger will cut it, but I have my eye on the Zen Archer monk variant, unless you have any objections to it?
Also, I see the Orc variants listed but might have missed the goblinoids. Are they particularly allowed/disallowed?

@Princess: By Admiral Truesilver do you mean Ayesunder Truesilver the head of the Imperial Navy and Warden of the port of Marsember? I suppose that is fine. It's not really going to have an impact on the campaign so I don't see a problem with it.
As for regional items for Cormyr you can choose one of the following: 1) a masterwork longsword, 2) a masterwork heavy mace, or 3) masterwork banded mail. The regional items are found in the Player's Guide to Faerun. A Cormyrian Destrier is not among them, sorry.
@Mafalin: The link to your sheet doesn't seem to be working. Have you made it public? No one but you can see it if it isn't set to public.
@Roguenewb: Your sheet seems to be suffering the same problems as Mafalin's. I don't think it is set to public. I'm glad that you're excited though.
@King Tius: Zen Archer is fine. You can play a Goblin or Hobgoblin character if you want but much like the Orc races you will have a large disadvantage in most social settings and situations due to your race.
@BelGareth: Pyroamniac is fine.
@Everyone: I'm off for the next two days so I'll be able to really look over any character sheets that are posted and give everyone some feedback.

Indeed, Ayesunder is her father. Assuming, of course, that he's 40 to 50-something or so. I can't find his age mentioned anywhere. If he is 70 or so, I'd imagine he'd be her grandfather.
Pathfinder's rules for heavy horses already make them a notch above what they were in 3.5 so that's close enough, I suppose.
EDIT: Also, I believe I am now done with all tabulations and whatnot on the sheet.
P.S. - would you accept 'celestializing' a pre-existing or found mount when I get my divine bond?

@Mafalin: Your sheet works now. It seems like your pointbuy is slightly off. You should be using the 20 pointbuy because you rolled initially but I've got you coming up to 21 points.
16 str = 10pts.
11 dex = 1pts.
14 con = 5pts.
10 int = 0pts.
10 wis = 0pts.
14 cha = 5 pts.
It all adds up to 21. I know you have 17 charisma but I assumed you used your human stat bonus and ability score increase from level 4 to increase it to 17. You'll have to lower one of your stats accordingly, please.
To answer your question before about mundane gear, purchase anything that you think you might need. If a time comes when you need a blanket, or a whistle, or a small steel mirror but you don't have one it wont just be assumed that you do. Hope that helps.
Also, you get two traits from the SRD and if you could make a note of what favored class bonuses you take each level that would be great.
@Princess: If you could also note down what favored class bonuses you've taken with each level it'd be big help and you've also got two traits to select.

Godfrey Umber, human Paladin of Torm hailing from the Dalelands.

Godfrey was born the eldest son of a farmer in Mistledale in the Dalelands. He grew up together with his younger sister Alara in what seemed destined to become a farmer's quiet life in the town of Ashabenford. Like most lads in Mistledale there were none he admired more than the Riders of Mistledale and as soon as he was old enough he applied to the town militia. A few months into his training the first drow raid came, leaving Mistledale in a state of shock.
From then on Godfrey's life became divided between militia duties and helping out at home, leaning more and more towards the former as the raids increased. The deciding point of his life came one night as the bells called out yet another raid. Donning his arms and armour Godfrey rushed out to defend his homeland against what would prove to be the biggest attack suffered yet. All night the battle wore on, the drown utilizing their signature hit and run confusion tactics and eventually Godfrey's little unit was cut off from the rest of the defenders, taking heavy losses. When the sun finally rose and the drow retreated the only people left alive were Godfrey and a man from the other side of the valley named Albert Cedar. Godfrey, realising his comrade could not make the trek back to Ashabenford and the temples alone carried Albert back to town, saving his life.
After getting home he immediately fell asleep from the exhaustion and was visited ín his dreams by a messenger from Torm telling him he had been chosen to walk the path of a Paladin should he choose to accept it. The next morning Godfrey went to the temple of Tyr to seek counseling from the local priest Nervall Watchwill and was not entirely suprised to find that a priest of Torm had arrived that very morning. The priest introduced himself as one Oswald Ward and agreed to teach Godfrey about Torm and his new duties as a Paladin. Together they battled the drow for over a year and when Oswald finally left Ashabenford he did so knowing that Godfrey was on the path to becoming an experienced warrior in his own right.
Over the next few years Godfrey helped maintain the status quo, keeping the drow from doing any serious damage to Mistledale together with the Riders and the militia and earning some valuable experience in the process. One day his old friend Albert came running to his guardpost, frantic with worry. Albert had in the years after their battle together become a trusted friend of Godfrey's and was now engaged to his sister to be married later this year. Right now however, this seemed like a dwindling possibility, for Godfrey's sister had disappeared! Sometime during the day a rider had taken her from the field where she was working and ridden westwards. Since she had apparently gone willingly none of the neighbours had questioned her directly though most of course thought it odd for her to leave with a stranger like that.
Godfrey gathered what supplies he needed for a prolonged journey and immediately set out to find Alara. Though feeling a little conflicted about leaving his homeland to fend for itself the family bond he shares with his sister compels him to leave and not come back until she is safe again. Luckily, the mysterious rider has not bothered overmuch with concealing his trail and Godfrey has managed to find enough people who recognize the rider's and Alara's descriptions to lead him to the city of Wheloon in Cormyr.
After several days' fruitless search in the city Godfrey has started to become a bit disheartened. Hoping that his finding the strange notice which lead him to the Wywern Watch was more than just coincidence he now finds himself in the common room of the tavern, looking for a man in blue.

Godfrey is a quite tall Chondathan man with long brown hair held in a ponytail, a well-kempt full beard and brown eyes. He has several battle-scars in his face and more are to be seen all over his body should anyone ever find him out of his finely crafted plate-and-mail armour which he wears with an ease born of several years spent mostly armoured. Over the armour he wears a well-made tabard emblazoned with the gauntlet of Torm and the greatsword 'Duty' slung over his shoulder, ever ready to strike at Godfrey's foes.

An unwavering sense of duty is Godfrey's strongest personality trait, reflecting the sense of awe he feels at being chosen by a god to do his work. He will give his all to help the needy and combat evil, as any paladin would though he can be a bit overzealous when protecting his home and family. That said, he is an easygoing fellow as long as you're not doing evil and will try to lead by example rather than forcing his views on others. Godfrey is a planner, preferring to think things through and formulate a plan instead of rushing off haphazardly which might cause him to start off at a disadvantage in situations where swift action is required.

@Mafalin: My mistake, your sheet looks good so far but where is the Ring of Light from? I cannot seem to find it to verify it's price.
@Quakes: Your sheet looks good so far but you seem to have grossly over paid for your Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds. You have it listed as 650 gold when 2nd level potions are only 300 gold. For 650 gold you could have two cure moderate wounds potions and a cure light wounds potion.

Alright, should be mostly done. Do have some gold left to spend but otherwise I think I have everything addressed. I did buy some different arrows, and so far that pushes my consumable item cost over 1000. I'll probably buy some extra potions anyway, but let me know if they don't count towards that and I'll make sure that I spend enough to hit that number.

Alright, new interest in this game seems to be slowing down so I'm going to go ahead and post a deadline for character submissions.
THE DEADLINE FOR THIS GAME WILL BE THURSDAY AUGUST 23RD!!!
That leaves four days for everyone who is interested to complete their sheets/any new interest to make a sheet and apply. Only completed character sheets will be considered for acceptance. A character sheet is considered completed when all crunch has been finished including purchasing gear and the character sheet has a description of the character, a summary of the characters personality and the characters background posted on the sheet.
I look forward to seeing some more completed, well fleshed out characters!

Ok I've settled on a Wild Elf who through some circumstances to be determined is taken in by an aging ranger and taught the way of the bow. He'll have a strict sense of discipline but won't be tied to a specific monastic order. Does that sound alright? I find the whole monastic order business a little out of place in the typical fantasy setting. Does that sound alright?
