An entire country's worth of bandits though. I think a full city would have a hard time doing that, even a country would, much less one faction of a city that has lots of them.

There's a major difference between protecting your own trade caravans and clearing out all the bandits.

You are a minor merchant faction in a small city-state, which is even weaker than usually thanks to all the chaos. Your opponents are the entire population of a vast territory filled with people who've fought wars for their entire lifes just to stay alive. Warlords, who've beaten back every single attempt by actual powerful nations to make headway on their territory.

There's just no way.

well, in my defense i thought i was fighting purely against unorganized, undisciplined bandit gangs. i had completely forgotten they were supported by the warlords.

So I didn't. Knew I was forgetting something. I'll put it in the post I'm writing now.

Well, I no longer care about your Revolution.

And I'm mostly peeved about the whole, going behind my back thing. Mail reading I can let slide. Everybody does it, although people usually try to pretend they don't. Making me look like a fool - that I'm not so happy about.

Hoorey!

A question - how the heck does Mercantile Guild stay solvent - you seem intent to give away all your money for charity or public works?

P.S. Heladuit Court - you've got a message in IC. Just in case.

Hey, to make the Brotherhood annoying was part of the plan from the beginning. I just want to see how far I can get without any PC allies.

Well, we haven't played in the same games, so you wouldn't know, but I'm usually the guy, who gathers coalitions to kill the people, who get too annoying (to my faction that is). Somehow, it has always worked.

I'm okay with - those guys are annoying because they are misguided anarchists. I'm less content with - those guys are annoying, because they are annoying jerks.

I don't see it as being jerks, really. They just don't pretend that they aren't reading your mail. Everyone reads everyone's mail, they are just honest about it.

I don't care about reading communications. Blackfist Bortherhood apparently thinks Vassari is a gullible, incompetent buffoon. Well, surprise - he takes it as an insult. It's made worse, since your faction is Anarchists. Personal respect is the only kind of authority you recognize. So when you don't respect Vassari, of course he is going to be rather angry.

[Hmm... I admit I read the correspondence between Peacocks and you, which I wasn't supposed to, but I think they'd let me know, what it was about.]

Vassari tells Blackfists he'll give you full oversight over work over the stadium and he intends no ill. Blackfists tell, they trust him.

Then they claim he can't trust his men or allies, as they can be traitors, thus insulting his judgement in people.

Then Blackfists go to Peacocks and Market Guard and start negotiating with them directly - so they think Vasari is lying and they'll tell a different story or make a different deal?

I see people are starting to get in communication with the Ambassadorial guard.

Fair warning I've spent a lot of time and effort pulling the Gilded District under my control without resorting to any form of bloodshed, and it has been a slow, laborious process. My mistake in not realizing the Gilded was a mercantile district when I placed my militaristic faction there. It would have been a lot easier to just kill everyone, and declare the sausage guild in control.

So far I haven't really cared about the council one way or another, but if you take Embassy Row. Well I think we all know which side of the fence I'm going to fall on.

It wasn't really meant like that. I'll send a formal apology ingame, would that help?

Well, depending on how you word it. Anyway, would Blackfists want to do anything with Vasari, now that he is the Man on the Council?

Well grande. First Neposh, now Sausage Guild. I half expect the Sorcerers to rise from the dead and start hunting down the Councilors by the end of this Council session.

I don't see how I can back down from Embassy Row, since I need those Embassies for Diplomatic Corps.

Well, they still respect the Doctor, even if he is on a council they don't accept as having any authority. He's done some good things.

You need the embassy buildings. You don't need embassy row.

Convince the Ambassadorial guard that working with the Ansigaris is a good idea. It is entirely possible to achieve control of a neighborhood without really disturbing the factions in it. Look at Alsscross and Dovel. Those are Sausage Guild territory, but other factions are still working in them. Or look at all the EBSA field offices for another example.

As long as I get control of Embassy Row I don't care if you're housing ambassadors there or not. All I want is the Gilded District. Help me get that, or even just stay out my way and I'll support the council.

Wow, and the Anti- Council seems to be growing.

Question, can MOR be used for anything, and what kind of things can it be used for? I feel like I chose poorly when I started it so high.

Have a question about Blackpowder weapons. Could I sell the guns and ammo seperately? Seriously, I'll get addtional funding as a arms dealer. And ESBA, I'll be needing to work with you on something. A gun registry. As a canadian, I don't bealive it'll really work (Considering all the criminals around), but a concession to law and order must be kept.

MOR can be used to boost the effectiveness of any action, as well as do any type of action by itself (though it will be less effective in this than other stats--for example, attacking someone with MOR represents citizen volunteers and whatnot, which won't do as well as your professional MIL).

Basically, if you can fluff something as being done entirely through the loyalty/fanaticism of your people, you can do it with Morale.

EDIT:

Indeed you can. With some more investment into weapons manufacture, I'd probably give you a trait that would start giving you WEL based on how many other factions had Black Powder Weapons traits.

Technist guild troops, mounted on steambikes, with AK-47's We're the new Biker gang in this city!
