Is it sad that I knew what that video was before I clicked it?
Also, Eltain can't hit a Hard DC to save his life.

And, having not looked at IC yet, I really hope I haven't seriously set the party up for a TPK.
The party may be set up for one, but it's not Zyrr's fault.
Well...actually, you did sell them all into the arena. So yes, it is actually Zyrr's fault.
That being said, at least you hit the insight DC =)
---------
With Mando back, I'll try and get the combat IC post up late this evening, unless one of y'all comes up with something completely brilliant in the meantime to change what's going to happen (which, let's be honest, occurs more often than I'd like to admit).
---------
Also, I'd mentioned a while ago that I may need to slow things down at the beginning of September because I was moving to Scotland. Unfortunately, my transfer has been pushed back, so I'll be in the states through January. So I'm ready to keep on pushing through!

Eltain is not there to have a terrible idea, so Thrull will have it for him.
Eltain has his own terrible idea, but I'm trying to coordinate it with someone who is currently offline, which makes it awkward as hell.

"Really, now, Fersavictorix, are you going to let yourself be so insulted? One puny stone man, and they claim he's a match for you? Surely such a fight is beneath you. Why, the very legions of hell stand arrayed before you, a glorious target if there ever was one, and they try to order you into fighting a rock, saying he's an even challenge against you. Thrull think that silly! Thrull think devils insult mighty Fersavictorix! Thrull think Fersavictorix should wipe out puny devils with one gust of fire and join us in overthrowing other puny devils who would dare to order him around! Thrull is impressed by mighty Fersavictorix! Thrull want to fight with him, not against him, and bring glorious conquest to world! Come, mighty Fersavictorix! Listen not to puny devils! Fight them and reclaim all the glory that has been yours for millennia!"
Diplomacy check!
I cannot tell you how much I hope you get a natural 20 right now.

I forgot to add in the bonus from Words of Friendship, but I only rolled an 18 so it wouldn't have helped anyway. Alas. Worth a shot. And 42 is the ultimate answer, too.

Edit: I started the post and stepped away for a bit and came back to finish it, only to find Thrull making a similar argument. Whatever you want to do with it, Hzurr. Either treat it as its own check or aiding Nai's bard.

I'm going on a Freshmen Retreat with my students. Probably won't have interwebs. When combat starts, Ash is going to pop his spine devil and wail on the pit fiend as much as possible with his at-will to whittle his fire resistance to 0. Hopefully, the dragon helps us out. Once the pit fiend is on 0 fire resist, Ash will drop his encounters and dailies on him. Also, he will give his Hellsworn Blessing to either Shep or Aramil.

Probably not the best idea to give it to Shep. He's not currently a monk anymore.
Actually, though Pavick may have never heard of the guy, perhaps Aramil has?

Yep. Fersavictorix has a reputation for bloodlust. He isn't as cunning a tactician as most reds are, but he makes up for it in ferocity. (read "Brute, not soldier"). It's rumored that he can focus his fire so intensely that even creatures of flame cannot resist it. He has a bad habit of devouring those he battles. ("Om nom nom nom")
-------------------
I've got the map & monsters all ready, I'll most likely post it early tomorrow because there's a few things that'll happen before combat starts, primarily due to y'all's awesome rolls against the Dragon, and I want to sleep on it first.
Well, that's a right-good snogging for Eltain. Pity I wasted the crit on a non-damaging attack. That would have been rough if it'd come from the dragon.
So, just to key everyone in, since this is a big encounter, I'm basically dividing the round in two. Shep, Thrull, Aramil, & Pavick will go, then the dragon & pit fiend will take their off-turn actions & I'll update the map, then we'll finish out the round with the rest of the party & enemies & I'll update the map again.
Also, I spent a long time debating what to do with the dragon. In the end, Having it kill half-a-dozen minions and two standard creatures (plus not being able to treat the devils as allies, which makes the pit fiend's leader abilities less useful) seemed like a good reward for some awesome rolls.
Eltain is behind Zorella, not in front, and her twisting about to do something he knows she can do definitely triggers his readied action to attack her, if not giving him a chance to try to teleport away.
Also does this have a duration, or shall I basically write Eltain off as dead.

Ah, I'd assumed that once Eltain start attempting to round second base, he'd no longer have the sword, but it looks like that's not necessarily true! But yes, since you specifically mentioned you were readying an action to attack, you can make that attack roll now. You're at a -2 penalty to hit for awkward close quarters.
(1d20+21)[38] vs AC, on hit I push her 1 square away from me and she takes (1d8+16)[22] cold damage.
Eltain would immediately get the hell out, but I presume you won't allow that?

Well, I assume I can't try to Fey Step out of there immediately after shoving her away, so that leaves Eltain dominated for... Well, you still didn't answer the duration question. So I guess you get to write how that looks, since he's apparently NPCed for now.

...full of doom and gloom, aren't we?
You'll effectively push her off the couch and prone, so she won't be able to kiss you this round. If you hang around, however, she may try again.
Also, that effect doesn't dominate, it just prevents you from attacking her unless she (or her allies) attack you. You'll also throw yourself in harms way to protect her. Basically, you consider her an ally, but you're still in full control of your own actions.
Gonna wait for Aramil, Pavick and Thrull to post first, or at least the majority of them, before I take Shep's turn. Much easier for me to strategize that way.
Well, do you want me to tell you? It's not really a secret.
I have to admit some curiousity. I figure I'll probably be able to figure it out as soon as you take your combat turn anyway.

I feel your pain, Pavick just critted twice with a non-damaging attack, and had a couple of 19's too.
Actually, now that I think about that, let me include this update in the mid-round IC post. Things are about to get pretty hairy for Eltain & Zyrr, so I'll most likely need to make a secondary map for y'all. But yes, at the moment Eltain avoided getting snogged.

Heh, well given how many creatures you just attacked, the odds were in your favor of some really good rolls.
Oh Visions of Avarice... My favorite wizard spell as a PC, my least favorite as a DM. It's awesome.
