Samuel will answer the door, somewhat happy to see Charity. His wife and eldest two children are bedridden, but he and his adopted child are still able to be up and around. The adopted child isn't human, but still humanoid. She has chalk white skin, and jet black hair... and appears to be tattooed with lightning bolts in black ink. THAT is odd. She looks about six years old, and is obviously tired as she moves around the house. She rests often, but probably not as much as she should be.
"I know it's boring to stay in bed, but you'll be sick longer if you don't rest," Charity says to the adopted girl. "Those are some pretty cool markings. Have you always had them?"

"Kathy's been resting for a month now. She isn't any better."
Kathy is her sister, a human about nine years old. For a small girl, this is a good counterpoint. But when the issue of her markings come up, she becomes... uneasy.
"Yes. Well, no. But, it doesn't matter. They're not part of the sickness."
"We've got lots of doctors working on it now to find a way to make you and Kathy and everyone else better," Charity says. But she won't question the little girl any more aout her markings.
Instead she approaches Samuel. "I need to ask you some questions so we can get the data we need to fix this. Are you feeling up to this?"
Samuel will sit down in a chair, not the most comfy thing. Probably to keep himself from getting too comfortable... he's specifically keeping himself from relaxing right now, it seems. "Sure! What's the question?"
Samuel will give her the information. His elder daughter came home one day, sick. By the next day, the son and the wife were sick. He admits that he began feeling sick a day or two after, but he didn't get really sick until after his younger daughter did, about a week later.
There was a time when Cessie would be utterly shocked and disgusted seeing such things but even if she still are to some degree she can at least keep the food she just eaten inside her stomach.
Now it was clear just how a sick mind they were dealing with here, it was a good thing Sakura hadn't followed her or she might have had nightmares for days. In fact, she thought she might have a nightmare or two herself after seeing all this. Those poor things.
With a shake of her head she turns to look at the sleeping mind, was this the manager, the mastermind behind all this? Cessie attempts to detect any magic in the area before she shields herself and then tries to cast a powerful force cage around the woman, followed up by two stone shackles at her legs and arms. This is all assuming she didn't notice any sort of protective enchantments nearby.
[Lefty's Cave]
Cessie will find one such enchantment meant to protect... against the cold. It's more of a comfort thing than any real protection though. Cessie should have no trouble caging the deranged manager with everything she wants to.
Only to find she's still asleep once the bindings are on.

Arlem will try to join in with going door to door finding people who need help and bringing them to the clinic. It's odd; the place doesn't feel like a plague zone yet.
"32!" she cries out, waking up with a start. She looks blearily around the room with bleary eyes, obviously incredibly groggy from just having woken up.

More nonsense, she'd be more lenient if she didn't know this woman was completely insane, and not in the charming way. "You have ten minutes to turn me and my friend back or you will force me to do something very drastic." She claims while tightening the stone shackles around Lefty's ankles and wrists.
It takes a short while longer for Lefty to understand exactly what's going on, and then she just grins, "I can't! I never developed a counter strategy. A carpenter doesn't take demolition tools to the house he's building; why would I have the ability to turn you back?"

"I don't really know, I'm not really clear on what they did. Went out to a park, I think? I haven't really asked her, I just figured that she picked it up somewhere. She might not be in a condition where she can recall, the issues have been hitting her very hard."
The sorceress sigh, "Then I have to do it on my own then while you probably are going to spend at least a couple of years at remnant. Not a way I would like to spend a great deal of my life." She replies.
"Maaby." The ghoulish creature replies while looking down at the floor as in shame.
"Why?" Elias asks.

Charity winces. She's heard stories about people who go to parks - they get eaten by gazebos or turned into plant zombies or have their skin turned to butter. It's never anything good. "Your youngest daughter - how did she get the markings on her skin?"
"I know, just doing your job. They're tattoos. The culture of her race is mostly based around nightmares they have. Sometime when they are very young, they have a nightmare. They have this nightmare every night of their entire lives. And according to traditional Norcus culture, they get named after it, and get it tattooed onto their skin. Her parents were traditional enough to do that. And from there they put her up for adoption and never spoke to her again."
Charity looks shocked, and makes sure the child is not in earshot before saying, "That's terrible - the child abandonment, not the tattoos. How long ago was it that you adopted her?"
"Three years now, and she was in an orphanage for a year before that."
He sighs. "Hey, do your best, okay? I don't want to lose anyone. And..." He leans in a bit, "I've been feeling worse. I don't know how much longer I can go. Please, if you can, be fast."
At this point, distressing news comes over the radio: one of the Remnant soldiers in the area has taken ill. She confirms that it's the same symptoms as the plague.
Gird gets up and laughs more, nodding. One day future, is better than Cree. he grins and picks his spears off the ground, dusting them off and inspecting the heads.

Krystal shrugs. If you practice enough, who knows.
She starts climbing back down. When she gets low enough, she jumps the rest of the way, landing in a crouch. She stands back up and shoves her hands into the pockets of her jeans.
I spent a lot of time practicing my skills because I wanted a chance to go up against a certain person from my world. It wasn't anything personal, it's just his powers were kinda like mine, and I just wanted to spar with him.

Rogar walks down the stairs leading to Gordon's current hiding place. He opens the door to reveal a electrical storm that fades out.
"Err, still haven't got that down yet."
"So, any new plans, sir?"
"Yes, I've been thinking. While striking against Remnant could be well, I lack the manpower to hold it."
"So, I should tell E to regain control of the security systems?"
"Indeed."
Rogar turns to leave, while things in the lair start floating.
"Stay for a moment, Rogar. I've been feeling lonely."
"Alright, Gordon."
Bwahaha! Victory for Kal's petty whims! "Meh. I've been to these sorts of parties before." Says Kal. "It seems worth it now, less so in one week when you've still got uncomfortable sticky feelings all up in places not worth mentioning."
He appraises the Flargs for a moment, attempting to determine their hawtness. As far as he can tell, they seem sorta average, but the fact there's three of them lends itself to some interesting possibilities.

"Suit yourself. Why has everybody been to one of these parties but me?" Tina asks no one in particular. She smirks first at Myrim, then at Kal. "It seems like everyone here's either a model or a good swimmer. Not both. Well, cept' for Shrike n' me." She watches the Exalt splutter about in the syrup, grinning. "And I'm starting to doubt the former."

Charity takes the news silently, then switches down the volume of her radio so that nothing but alarm sounds can get through.
"We've got Remnant, HALO, and GLoG all here working on finding a cure. One of the GLoG members is a specialist in contagious diseases, so I'm sure there will be progress quickly. In the meantime, I think we should move you and your family to the mobile clinic so that you can all be cared for, and you can take to your sickbed as you should be. They've got the first big tent set up already in the high school parking lot, and they're prepared to set up a second clinic or take over the gymnasium if needed. There will be enough beds for everyone." Charity says.

"How were you exposed? Was there a failure in your biohazard gear?" Mitchal radios back to the sick soldier. If the biohazard gear was working properly... then this illness can bypass it. Which would lead a lot of credence to the 'magical plague' theory.

"Yeah. Lightning," Charity would know that as the name of the adopted daughter, 'Taken-By-Lightning,' "Might be able to walk there, but we're going to need help moving the others. "

"Checked and double-checked just now," replies the soldier, "Triple-checked before we headed out. I don't think this is a failure. There is no reason that anything from out there could get in here, I've been very careful. Seen too many people taken by things like this. Please advise."

The trick about the family is that they will need someone to take care of them, to keep them from wasting away. Such a thing would be easier at a clinic... but there are a lot of people that would need this kind of attention in the neighborhood, as will become clear as the soldiers find other houses in similar conditions.
Lee doesn't have time to wring his hands and worry about it so instead he decide to take them to the clinic before it is filled up. He will start by having the adults who are still strong enough lead some of the children to the clinic while he picks up and carries whoever is left.

Krystal grins again. Normally, she'd pat his shoulder, but given his size, she goes for his arm instead.
Yeah, just gotta keep practicing, I guess.
