6 I believe. Since we have 4 GMs, 3 of those GMs will be playing with one GMing, plus 3 other players. I think 3-6 is generally the recommended number for modules.
Also just clarifying, I would only need one character for now correct? I don't need to make 3?
Seems like you only need your next character sheet about halfway through the first game. Its what I plan to do (if accepted). Why do today what you can put off till tomorrow?
Okay, I've finished Maximiliana's stats, I just have to write her backstory and she's complete. I'm not exactly sure how I'll combine her backstory with those of my CotCT and SD characters, since she's very connected to Sandpoint. My CotCT character idea has likely never left Korvosa, and I have no clue what my SD character is going to be.

Cormac MacKor, the Invulnerable Rager is almost finished. I think that I'll go with the whole "clan of mage-hunters" background that I'd planned for him, that way the other characters I make can be estranged members of the clan.

I'll be changing Maximiliana to a Leroung from Korvosa, more specifically a Leroung-Zenderholm, the child of an intermarriage between the two families.
And may I say, Angstrom, that your idea to have your characters be members of a disbanded Varisian caravan and your tarot theme to the character is absolutely BRILLIANT?! I seriously hope you get in, because that's too good an idea to not play!

Is it too late to join? Sorry about disappearing on the old game, but that was largely because no one was posting. Going to use the same set of characters as I was using for the last one.
RotR: Alyson Cait
Spoiler
Alyson Cait and Riian Gage were both raised in a village in Lastwall, far from the border of both Ustalav and the Hold of Belkzen. As kids, all the children in the village idolised paladins, and would often excitedly play-fight tales of resisting the orcish hordes, or fighting the return of the Whispering Tyrant. This eventually led to many of them learning to fight, in the vain hope of being able to be one of the lucky few who left the village to become a paladin, instead of doing the sensible thing and working on the farms.
Riian and Alyson were friends from early childhood, fighting in fantasy tales with all the other children. Eventually, Alyson started training with the bow while Riian trained with the sword. The two were by far the best and many expected them to be lucky enough to be recruited, even after Riian woke up one day blind, saved only by a new sense that allowed him to understand where things were.
As they grew older, they eventually become lovers, but their affair ended when Riian's parents had to leave the village, to help family living in Korvosa, forcing him to leave behind, unbeknownst to him, the newly pregnant Alyson.
Only shortly after a year later, a group of orcs that had managed to sneak into Lastwall attacked the village, slaughtering nearly everyone. Alyson led the defense, but was helpless against the numbers and survived only by chance, when two barbed arrows took her out early in the fight, and she was ignored by the orcs as they killed and looted the town.
She only survived when a wandering alchemist, returning to his home of Magnimar. The alchemist found her alive, and nursed her back to health as they traveled. Unaware that both her mother and her child survived, she decided to cut her losses and instead live in Varisia, where she spent the next couple of years learning to become a paladin
What little optimism survived the destruction of her village slowly died over as she fulfilled her duties as a Paladin, as she routinely found herself meeting the worst of society. However, ten years after she was nearly killed in her home village, the final blow to her remaining optimism struck, when she learnt that the paladin that mentored her, Lawrence Symonds, died trying to guide refugees escaping a minor warlord calling himself the Bandit King, who was rampaging the surrounding area. The refugees turned on him and killed him when the Bandit King promised to spare their lives if they bought him Lawrence's head. With this news, that she received just as she arrived in Sandpoint, she found herself doubting her continued commitment to the path of a paladin.

Riian originally fared well in Korvosa, managing to settle down successfully. Closer to scholars of magic, he learnt more about his blindness and discovered the magical powers he had been blessed with. After five years, he even met Ae, a beautiful half-elf (at least that's what she told him), who he fell in love with. They settled down and got married, with Riian becoming a guard and Ae running a magic item store.
Their life was happy, with the only fights occurring when Riian decided to play around with some of the more dangerous magical items. However, one day, while on patrol, a group of guards summoned him to a murder scene. They all knew who the victim was, and believed he deserved to see her corpse. Ae died in what looked like a simple mugging gone wrong, with a bag full of magic items and her wedding ring mysteriously gone.
Riian left is job as a guard and sold Ae's store, feeling lost and with little idea of what to do. The money he earned from the sale of the store slowly whittled away to nothing, but as Riian finally started to make his peace and return to the guard, he found his wife's wedding ring for sale in store. Too poor to afford it, he instead learnt where the merchant had got it from, and made it a quest to find Gaedren Lamm, to finally settle the death of his wife so that he could finally move on.
I'm not sure what character I'll choose for the last two, but the other characters will be:
Riia Cait:
Spoiler
Riia is the daughter of Alyson and Riian, and named after her father. She was one of the survivors of the attack on her village, and was raised by her grandmother, thinking that her mother was dead. She was trained by Alyson's mentor (name TBC) in the ways of archery, which, while she had some skill, never fit her perfectly. Therefore, he instead gave her a strange device he had picked up once from his many adventures, a pistol, which she quickly became adept at.
When (name TBC) planned to return to his adventuring life, Riia managed to persuade him to take her along, and they left Lastwall for adventures that eventually led them to Varisia. THis is partly because of an old fashioned thrist of adventure, and partly because she wishes to meet her father.
Name TBC
Spoiler
Name TBC is an experienced adventurer, who has seemingly travelled everywhere and has a story about nearly every occasion. Despite multiple attempts, he has never managed to retire, though he did find himself with a close affinity to a village in Lastwall, having fallen in love with one of the villagers. Because of this, he ended up having a close relationship with many of the villagers, and was responsible for helping train many of the children, including Alyson.
During the orc attack, Name TBC was essential in helping save as many villagers as possible and helping relocate them, and, although he did not retire, he hung around Lastwall for a long tie, continuously returning, where he helped train the next generation, including Riia. However, eventually he decided he had grown too bored with Lastwall, and wished to leave the nation for good an do an epic adventure like the ones he had done in his youth. THerefore, he set out to Varisia, taking Riia in tow as an apprentice
Currently thinking of using Riia in Jade Regent, so she can learn of her mother from Ameiko. That should be interesting
Would I be allowed to use the rolls I got in the previous game for Alyson? They were (16, 18, 15, 15, 11, 16). Since they were so good, I'd love be able to keep them. If not, I'll reroll below
Champion - Gunslinger The Dealer - Sorcerer Honor Templeton - Archer//Beguiler Kassander - Blackguard//Evolutionist. Thanks to Strawberries for the image Kyus/Elle - Summoner. Thanks to kpenguin for the image Tactics - Warforged Warlord. Thanks to Cieka for the image

I don't think you can really carry rolls on from games and those rolls were done like four months ago. Bad luck with those rolls but you can do point buy.
I'm closing to new interest now. Anyone who hasn't already made their character has a few days. I'll make a list of characters on the first post.
Edit: Very few people have posted their characters up. For North Ranger I don't know which is for RotRL so I haven't included you. Also, I think we may need another person to GM Second Darkness. IRT hasn't posted since the first page so could anyone run that? It would mean automatically getting into the other three games.

Still rather incomplete, but I've finally come up with a good character idea (that is, a good idea for his personality, personal history...that kind of thing).

Well, I pretty much made all the Halfear brothers available for any of the three adventure paths, as I have in the past opted out of games because there's been an overflow of martial characters. So I hope you will nonetheless consider the bros.
There are three things I'm looking for when deciding the chracters for RotRL.
1. Quality of the character's roleplay potential
2. How well they'll fit in with the rest of the party mechanically and roleplay.
3. How well they can be connected to the other characters you make.

Thanks AZ. I'm hoping for CotCT Cromwell will let me adapt Zellara into a retired member of the caravan, probably Ash's grandmother. If permitted, the character for that AP will be Ash's grandfather, Zellara's husband. That would allow a very strong emotional tie to the adventure based around protecting the remaining members of the community of retired caravaners in Korvosa while coping with the loss of his wife and youngest son.

Fair enough. The Halfears are finished and available for any of the three campaigns (one is looking for a fight, the other is looking for a hunt, the third is looking for enlightenment) - save for one thing. Traits. Are they available and how many can we pick?

I kind of forgot about traits, so I don't think they will be included. I think any of those could go for RotRL, but probably the third is best from the description I've read. Also, I'm going to play a Paladin for CotCT and I wouldn't want two Paladins in the same party. So I'm going to just the third brother and add him to the first post.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to withdraw from this. I'm involved in too many games at the moment and have much less time to do so now that I've got two jobs I'm working. Sorry.

On the other hand...I may have a little time since we're staggering. I've just got my backstory to finish.

Lady Maximiliana is a minor noble from Korvosa, descended from a marriage between the Leroung and Zenderholm houses. Showing an aptitude for scholarship at an early age, her father paid her way into the prestigious (and also dangerous) Acadamae in the city. During this time, her elder sister had given birth to a son. Maximiliana didn't have time to enjoy being an aunt, as the child disappeared in the markets one day and despite the best efforts of the Korvosan Guard, had not been seen since. Unlike many other noble scions who used their status for connections and barely paid attention to their studies, Maximiliana dove into them headlong, fascinated with the history of her city and Varisia in general.
Her studies led her to become obsessed with the ancient empire of Thassilon and the Runelords that governed it. She even began actively courting some of the sins they venerated as virtues, gaining a reputation as having great appetites, yet somehow maintaining her drive and passion for the secrets of the past. It was during this time she pursued an affair with a handsome young alchemy student, more playing the scandal to gain attention than out of any genuine affection. Despite this, she genuinely felt bad when her lover was cast from the Acadamae for the affair, and ran away to Riddleport to escape her parents' wrath. After her graduation, she decided not to marry to secure her family's bonds to the other noble houses, but rather to travel and study Thassilon in earnest.
She declined to travel to the lawless and brutish Riddleport after her former lover, opting instead to visit Magnimar, Korvosa's main rival. While there, she gained the attention of the Heidmarch family, who had set up the first Pathfinder Lodge in Varisia. Eager to gain access to the Society's resources, Maximiliana quickly applied to become a Pathfinder herself. She decided a sure-fire way to gain admittance was to perform a personal dig, and the closest and most convenient place was the small town of Sandpoint.
Maximiliana has lived in Sandpoint for a few months now, coordinating her research with local expert Brodert Quint as well as the other scholarly inclined people in the town. During her stay she became fascinated with the House of Blue Stones and the ways of Irori, keeper of Golarion's history. Her passion for sinning having somewhat dimmed since the debacle at the Acadamae, she finds the notion of learning from the past to perfect the present comforting, and is working towards more moderation in her life. She's also begun drawing on Tien and Vudran mysticism and the concept of the Void to channel her magic, eschewing the traditional schools she studied in the Acadamae.
(The missing nephew will become my CotCT character and the alchemist lover will become my SD character.)

I guess I'll make Riian for RotR, despite planning to use Alyson. Since we already have a Paladin in RotR, an Oracle would be better. Will have to change both their backstories slightly, since Riian was designed to fit into Curse

Thanks, it would be quite conveniant if it's fine with you.
"Cormag had a very troubled childhood, to say the least. An abandoned half-orc in a “nation” of orcs, Cormag’s story was a typical one of rejection, hate and violence. Indeed, the only thing that truly set Cormag apart from most other half-orcs was the fact that his father was human; somehow, that made his very existence even more abhorrent to the orc residents of Hold of Belkzen. Cormag went through most of his early life without a purpose, until he met a group of half-orcs who took him in, sheltering from the storm of rancor. These half-orcs had carved out a place for themselves through strength, ferocity and shear spite among their pure-blooded kin.
Led by the visionary Malog Orcson, this subversive group called themselves the Broken Columns, and had rather grand plans for the orc race, far beyond merely sheltering half-orcs. Malog Orcson intended to forge the orc tribes into a single nation, with the Hold of Belkzen at its core. Malog intended to do nothing less than to drag the orcs from their savage tribal culture into a bright and glorious future. Young Cormag was utterly taken with Malog’s daring and strength of character, resolving to do anything to help his hero’s dream come true. Alas, like most dreams, this one died with its dreamer. Malog was ambushed by a pack of orc warriors while traveling alone. The orcs returned Malog’s body to his followers in twenty pieces, not including his head, which was placed on a spike by the roadside as a lesson to other half-orcs.
Utterly heartbroken, Cormag fled the Hold of Belkzen, killing every orc that he could on his way out in a berserk fury. Once he was able to think clearly, Cormag began making his way into human lands, abandoning the dream of an ascendant orc nation, and vowing death to any orc from the Hold of Belkzen that he came across. Cormag has since been hiring himself out as a bodyguard and caravan escort for anyone passing close to orcish lands, mostly because it gives him the chance to kill orcs."
I have plans for a half-orc mounted fury barbarian and a half-orc summoner, as well, who were also involved in the Broken Columns.
