Sakura giggles. "I wish, but she's got a ways to go yet. First she can crawl all over the place instead of the tiny bit she can do now, then standing on her own, and then walking." Sakura grins down at Laela. "And as soon as you figure that out, you'll be nothing but trouble."
Laela looks up at Sakura with her big eyes. "Ahda." She reachs out to put her hand on Sakura's mouth.
"I'd like to inform you that I have actually cooked food at a fireplace." The sorceress insists with curtly nod, not without some self-awareness of her own pride hence why a smile is breaking her otherwise so firm expression. "But if you insist..."
Kirin will get up and follow, too. There's plenty of reasons for her to learn a bit more about cooking... especially if there's going to be two more hungry mouths in the foreseeable future.
Sakura laughs at the both of them and sticks her tongue out at Adir. "Now how are you supposed to wait on me and and foot if I have to cook?" Without waiting for a response, she turns and heads inside after Jon.
"Cooked food huh? Just the once?" Jon asks Cessie with a laugh. "I'm startin to think Adir's the most experienced chef between you."
"Hah!"
[Bedroom]
Adir chuckles under his breath and cracks the book, flipping to the first page. "'This book will help you guide your baby along the first few steps of a long, healthy life... blah blah practice, blah blah talking... here we go. This says we should try and help her stand up sometimes. So she can do it on her own eventually." Adir reaches over to try and take Laela's feet, tickling at them with the tip of his fingers. "I dunno. These still look pretty weak."

Laela giggles and kicks her little feet. "That sounds like a challenge, Laela. Wanna try?" Sakura babytalks. Laela babbles nonsense in response. "I think that's a yes." The dryad chuckles and shifts up a bit in preparation to stand.
Harnel, on the other hand, is perfectly content to remain behind and entertain all the children left behind; he's an accomplished chef as long as it's not a gourmet meal you're cooking, so he doubts there's a whole lot he could learn from this.

"More than once actually." Cessie corrects Jon with a smile. "But thankfully there are those, like my dear husband, who are a great deal better than I in the art of cooking." She states with a loving glance at the half-dragon.
Adir sets the book down and scoots out've bed. He'll help Sakura get on her feet -polite as he is - and try to get Laela sitting upright. The stag takes his baby's little hands and lifts them. "Arright... how should we start?"
As if it needs to be said, Adir's grinning the whole time.
Kitchen
"Sure, sure. But I'd say a baby on each arm might get in his way," Jon says with a grin, reaching into his paper bags. He retrieves a few things - raw whole duck, vegetables for a roast, cheese, brown sugar, etcetera.

Sakura positions herself on the floor next to them, a smile on her face that certainly tries to rival Adir's grin. "I guess just lift her up a bit and let her try and balance."
Laela just looks up at her parents with great interest. What's going on? She has no idea, but mom and dad are sure acting interesting.
Adir does as he's bidden, deciding to grab Laela's sides instead and hold her up. He'll let her little feet dangle in the air, grinning. "How about it, kiddo?"

"Aba ba ba ba!" The baby kicks her feet and grins at her father. Yay, attention! She can't get enough of that.
"Look at that enthusiasm. She's gonna be walking in no time." Sakura says.

Sakura chuckles and pulls herself up a seat. "At least Cessie doesn't have to say she's the worst cook. Apparently I have trouble with boiling water, but that might just be this one screaming and tearing me away from the stove." Sakura bobs Laela in her arms, prompting a giggle from the little fey.
Adir tries to set the little kicking feet down, still suspending Laela in the air. "Awww. Someone's excited." The stag doesn't babytalk much, but he is now. "Ooh, quick honey, grab your camera." He points at the doodad on their dresser.

"Oh right!" Sakura gets up as swiftly as she can and grabs the camera. Within second it's on and pointed at Laela. The baby is rather unsteady on her legs, and she isn't really supporting herself very well. Practice makes perfect, though. "Look at my big girl. You're doing so good." It doesn't take away from Sakura's enthusiasm, that's for certain.
Adir gives lil' Laela all the help she needs. She's so light, after all. "I could do this all day," he says with a laugh, trying to get Laela's feet steady on the floor. Not letting them support much weight, mind you.
The stag glances at the camera and smiles warmly, happy as could be.

"You're a miracle worker Sakura. Cooking food, taking care of the babies. I can barely do one of those things." Cessie says with a smile. "I see that you have some equipment to help you with that. We have that too, don't we Harnel? Kirin?" The kitchen was not really her domain. She was barely in it except when to make food for the babies.
"Arright," Adir says, switching to Laela's arms and trying to let her feet touch ground a little more.

Laela is very wobbly on her feet for a moment, but she steadies a bit after a moment. She'd definitely topple over if Adir lets go.
"Laela, you're doing so good!" Sakura says enthusiastically, snapping a few more pictures. "Smile for the camera! You too, Adir." Laela looks up at her mom, a big grin already on her face.
"You're a miracle worker Sakura. Cooking food, taking care of the babies. I can barely do one of those things." Cessie says with a smile. "I see that you have some equipment to help you with that. Laela 'walks' forward with Adir's help, just absolutely thrilled with how much fun this is.
"She's amazing." Sakura says. Joyful tears well up in her eyes, and it's all she can do to hold them back. She stes aside the camera so she can lean forward to first kiss Laela on the top of her head, then give Adir a peck on the lips.
Adir loves how easy it is to make Laela happy. Adir rubs Laela's tiny hands with his thumbs, smiling peacefully. When it comes, he turns and leans into Sakura's kiss with habitual ease. The closeness lets him see her watery eyes, and he says quietly, "Sakura? You okay?"

"Are you and your husband plannin' to have any more kids, Cessie?" Jon asks, chopping some green onion for the meal.
Adir opens his mouth as if to say something on the matter, but he decides against it.
[Kitchen]
Wise move there Adir.
"Not in the near future, no. I know Harnel wants to have a big family but I prefer to wait a bit. We might just settle with these two rays of sunshine." She tells Jon with a smile.
"More than okay." She smiles broadly. "This is just all so perfect." She looks down at their daughter, who is busy looking down herself at her own feet while she lifts one foot and steps forward experimentally.
[Kitchen]
"Poor Harnel. He'll have to visit us if he wants to be buried in kids." Sakura says jokingly.
"I think we just found a babysitter," Adir chimes in, while he helps Jon chop some veggies.
Jon just smiles and chuckles a bit. "I'm with you, ma'am. Two sounds like plenty." The old soldier sounds like he has some experience on the matter.
[Bedroom]
Adir nods quietly, his smile quivering. His eyes flick back to Laela, and they widen a little when she tries to take a step. "That's good, honey! Just like that. One then the other."

Sakura grins and bends down so she's level with Laela. "Come on, Laela. Another step!" The baby wobbles, not having really made the full step. She's got stuck with her legs spread a bit too far. Whoops! It's good thing Adir is holding her up.
"I'm afraid Harnel will be spending all his time with Cora and Bastion. He want to make them into little warriors like himself I imagine." She wanted them to have a choice in the matter though, surely it was more important they got a good education in the more important parts in life. Like history, science and philosophy. "And yes, two feels quite enough for me personally, but we'll see."
Adir lifts her up a moment, straightening those flabby legs and then setting her back down. "One more time..." Adir urges, eyes wide and bright.
