Sorry I haven't been online much lately guys. My homework this year is just absolutely killer (I had 10 hours of homework a couple nights ago). If I ever don't show up for more than a day, feel free to take over my character until I get some free time - my natural response is to hit things. I'll post an action IC now.
EDIT: Also, undead are immune to critical hits.

Aw man, natural 20 which doesn't do anything. I could've rebuked this thing with roll that good.
Never mind, I'm not going to complain about rolls that hit.

Alright, just to clarify, we just took a full round of combat as a surprise round, and now we're in initiative order in combat with it?
In which case I believe it's Armun's turn again. Merla's latest post is... her intended action for after Armun's? Or did I miss something?

Yeah. It's not going to get out of range unless it pushes past us, and I'm just going to whack it on my turn.

Next round, Armun charges in, hits it for far too much damage (:P), it snaps at Armun and misses, Merla charges in and hits it again for too much damage, and Zeus shots at it again.
Edit: For those keeping track - that makes it 808 xp in total.
Hrmmm, mkay. Sorry for the confusion. I think it would help me if people would edit the map with their new positions when they move. Speaking of which, I'm updating it to reflect that the skeleton is dead and we're all over by it.

It'd be easier to keep up with the map if we could get a link to it in the OP of the IC thread. #not-so-subtlehint
Oof. That was a long couple of hours. Welcome back, everybody.

I'm also back, and here's a small edit to our default door opening system:
1. Zeus checks for traps.
2. If non-magical traps are found, he alerts the party and then tries to disable them.
3. After success or failure to find any traps, he manually checks the doorknob for poison needles.
4. He steps back and everyone readies any actions they want to. Zeus readies an attack at anything hostile on the other side of the door moving towards them.
5. Armun opens the door.
6. If the door fails to open at this point, Armun OPENS the door.
Edit: updated as suggested below

I propose a modification to our standard procedures where if the door fails to open, but isn't locked or trapped, then Armun smashes it open with his improbably large hammer.

"Improbably large hammer," is my new favorite quote from this game. Thank you. I'll get right on it.
I'm still here! Just waiting for you guys to open the door or go somewhere else. Unless you want me to start opening new doors, or take turns doing it, in which case I'm fine with that.

Door opening is your department, mister "Immune to most bad stuff and actually took ranks in Search" :P

This one was sat quietly in the corner until the first time something entered the room. It wasn't coming towards you at all until that hand went through the window...
Don't wait for me guys. I'm super busy. I'll get in some attacks once we're in combat, and if there's anything specific you want me to do I will, but other than that I probably won't be posting much. I've got boatloads of homework, I'm trying to get everything ready to apply to college, and I'm attempting to maintain some form of social life (through theater) at the same time. So if I don't post for a while, keep moving. I'm still here, just not as active as I'd like to be.
On that note, should I break down this door even though there's a chimera behind it?
Probably, yeah. Or we could just let the Chimera try to bite it's way through. I think it's sort of the Chimera's turn, but I'm really not sure. I can't really tell very well when a fight is starting like this when it's everyone act when they want to, and when it's time for initiative to be rolled.

I am assuming at this point that the game is dead.
I was just coming to poke people to see what's going on. I've not wanted to assume you're breaking the door down and going in to fight the chimera without you actually doing so!
Sorry for the assumption then, and I'm happy to be wrong!
I think the problem is that there's an unspoken bit in a lot of people's actions that is "I'm staying this way, waiting to see if anything happens." We aren't sure if we're expected to act or post again next, and so no one does or says anything, because everyone is waiting on someone else to post.
I think for the moment, the party has reacted to the Chimera's movement by getting into position, and is waiting to see what the Chimera does. Does it continue to advance to the door. Does it try to break the door to get at us? We're waiting to see what the chimera does, but you aren't sure if we still want to take more actions or what, and you don't want to narrate our actions for us.
But we aren't sure if the chimera has stopped in the middle of the room where we last saw it and is waiting for us to do something, or if it's still barreling towards the door and you just haven't posted it yet...
There isn't a fully defined limit of what we can do before it's the Chimera's 'turn' again when we aren't in combat rounds. For that reason, at the point when an enemy has been sighted, and it has noticed and reacted to us, even if we aren't actively bashing one another I would recommend rolling initiative and going into combat rounds just to avoid the awkward waits where we aren't sure who is waiting on someone else to post something or if anyone is still even paying attention to the thread.
That, and an indication when one is waiting for something to happen might be helpful. Given a day or more of inactivity, I think it would be a good idea to post in the OOC if you're waiting for someone else to post something first. In other words, if you don't reply for a day or two, when we're waiting to see what the chimera does, I should post in the ooc saying "I think we're all sitting here with readied actions to see what happens next."
Likewise, if you're waiting for more player feedback, please let us know that we have a bit more time and ask us what we're doing.
Zeus is pretty much sitting where he is with a readied attack on the Chimera if it comes into view through the window.
