And killing a custodian seems like the worst thing you could do in the WH40K universe. The rest of them will surely come after you.
I'd think it would be either taking a dump on the Emperor or staring into the warp, with 'kill a custodian in front of two other custodians' in third place.
It goes up a place or two if you have the sheer stupidity to do so during a peace talk with a spell that only kills 5% of the time

Aww come on, it shouldn't be that difficult to fight a power-armored genetically ultra-powered post-post-human with 10,000 years of training who wields a halberd that's heavier than a planet and can Thermonuclear Suplex your face
Comic 553 is up. Apologies if it's not making much sense, right now the events are gonna be pretty fragmented but I am wrapping up this story arc.

It is if you're not the most powerful arcane incarnation that ever has or ever will exist, a new god or Superman

Well the most powerful Arcane Incarnation to ever exist is The Emperor so that might be a pretty good matchup.
Also, it sucks having my Emperor having the same name as Teh Emprah.

You have a guy who can commit global genocide by ACCIDENT. Just have him rewrite all of reality so his name is something else.

On purpose, yeah =/ I mean, the things they do are senseless, over-the-top and ludicrously violent but up till now they've still always been physical. ie, either with their fists or with their weapons. The idea that there is a creature that considers the power to destroy two titan war machines (which are themselves ridiculous) a 'weak' assault? Senseless. The idea that such a creature fights with it's fists and it's spear? Reasonable.

Yes, because spears whose blades are made from the ultradense cores of temporarily destroyed neutron stars are perfectly reasonable. And the whole "weigh more than the planet the battle is taking place on" thing? Totally reasonable!
I assure you there is a reasonable explanation for Lahvin's grid-power thingie. And for lack of willingness to explain it in the comic, my rationale is that over the course of their training the Custodes realized that they are limited to fighting in three dimensions. Some enemies, especially daemons, won't be so keen on obeying their rules. As such they've learned to slip into alternate dimensions and spaces. Fighting with these new boundaries allows for a greater depth of understanding in combat and opens up a host of new possibilities and concepts that may carry over quite well in conventional three-dimensional combat. What you saw was Lahvin slipping his hand through space-time and grabbing the AI mid-teleport, and pulling him back. I just chose to depict space and time being torn as a white-grey grid. I assure you he was not spellcasting.
That's my story and i'm sticking with it!
Now what if I told you they're not the only ones able to do this? This world is filled to the brim with spellcasters who do this routinely. Non-magic characters have to have SOMETHING!
And no, there won't be a part 3. What? You don't think I have a plan? Pppht. Nonsense. We're moving onto AtC7.
Featuring Typhus the Traveler, Herald of Nurgle, Captain of the Terminus Est, Host of the Destroyer Hive, and a pretty decent psyker.

Villanous monologuing. A severe problem plaguing this world's tyrants, monsters, necromancers, High Lords of Terra, and other generally unpleasant people.
And because I REALLY wanted to, Comic 557 (this one took me roughly ~30 minutes to make, no backlog or storyline advancement at all, but I wanted to make it anyways)
Also, he's totally right.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
I approve of time travelling in a comic likes this, where explanations are not in order and we're here for the action, the surprises, the characters and the dialogues. There's no need to make sense of it, just stick with the flow and enjoy.

Questions? Comments? Critique?
HA! Loved that last joke. Also, I'm pretty sure at the time he was trying to reclaim powers.. with mixed success.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
If anyone wants an explanation, Lahvin is stuck in an infinite loop where he sees his future self throw Powers into the Warp, therefore when Past Lahvin becomes Future Lahvin he will throw Powers into the warp because he thought he's supposed to do that (which is technically true) and so on and so on. Well...I guess he's not really stuck, but it's still an infinite loop.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
I don't understand one thing: When you cut to the news, are you implying he inmediately did something that pissed them off, and we are now seeing a bulletin of what immidiately happened? Or is the news covering what Lahvin said warp rage-explosion?
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
It never ceases to annoy me how often things can be so obvious to me yet so unclear to all five of my readers. No, it's not your fault, mostly mine, but still...

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Now, the line "In fact back up a bit" really shined in the new version. But I think I completely read over it the first time, for with it I don't see how I could get confused, I should've favored the second possibility right away.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
The old version had artifacts in the 7th panel. In other words junk that's helpful to the developer but you're not supposed to read. It was gonna get edited anyways. Aside from that all I did was add red text in OCR STD font.
On a side note I LOVE that font.
And 559. Dunno why this took so long, but whatever. I had a lot of fun making this comic
And the chapter shall end next comic. Also, I wanna draw up panels for the stuff I WANTED to put into the Pokemon micro-arc but it either wouldn't fit or I didn't have the time to put in. For example I can think of at least 6 panels for Comic 540 and Mr. Force was supposed to know Surf.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
I believe it appeared when one of the Arcane Incarnations (Who may have been the Archmagister?) died. Maybe it's a tombstone-type thing? Or perhaps an egg, or an existence-backup spell that activates when one dies, like Astral Seed? They were on the astral plane just now, right?
The others seem really freaked out about it all, I dont blame them, rand is playing dice with insta-death.
Also in the nineth panel I think the middle speech bubble is supposed to be pointing to Kayl.
