If you have enough people, I'm going to drop out.
I think you might have misunderstood my post. Clerics are a great class to play, in my opinion, even at first level. They are good fighters and can turn unread. They begin getting spells at second level. The point I was trying to make, and perhaps did so poorly, is that with OSR games you can have a four member party without a cleric and still do pretty well
That does not make them pointless and I apologize if that was the impression given. O hope you will reconsider playing.

I mean that I had already mostly built a thief. I just needed hit points and equipment.

Hello!
Since you pinged me, I decided to pop over and check out your game. If you are indeed still looking for a player or two, I'd be interested. I hope Roland will vouch for me!
I'm typically able to post daily, but can disappear for a day or two due to work and being away from my desk. I don't post too much from home, so weekends are often lost as well. If that's a problem I understand, otherwise hit me up with some stat rolls and I'll work on a character. Might take a few days, so no rush to work me into the game.
Cheers!

Vouched! Koren's been playing Mycah the young scout (thief) in my BECMI/RC game for awhile. He'll be around daily for my game, too, so if you need to wait and work him in later, I'm sure he'll be here.

Cool. I decided to go with Dark Dungeons basically because it is free, and I think Blacky did a great job with it, as opposed to using RC or BECMI, which I wasn't sure how many folks over here have. Anyway, my playstyle has been strongly influenced by the games that Julius Sleazer and The Wyzard run over at rpg.net, so that should give you a pretty good idea of what you are getting into if you are familiar with them . . . not that Karameikos has the polyapocalyptic feel.
There you go. Some pretty good stat blocks. Pick one, no rearranging or lowering to raise of scores. Max hp at first level. Post character on wiki (I'll get it set up for you.
Re: Adventures in the Grand Duchy -- Looking for 2-3 more players
Hey, Koren, just wanted to give you a head's up that I've got a character sheet up on the wiki for you. We can go ahead and add your PC to the Encumbrance Ape when creation is done. Let me know if you need a hand with the wiki; it is pretty straightforward, as far as I can tell, considering I'm used to the rpgnet wiki that requires a lot more code formatting.
Re: Adventures in the Grand Duchy -- Looking for 2-3 more players
Thanks, I'll see what I can come up with. Like I said, though - a couple days probably.
I know Julius's games well. Played in a more than a few when he was doing B/X stuff a while back. Not so much now that he's gotten into the themed games. He's been in games I've run too.
I can handle the wiki, I imagine, from using RPG.net's also.
More to come!
PS: Thanks Roland!
EDIT: Going with set 3 as a magic user - seems like we have enough fighter types now with all the elves and dwarves, and don't want to play another thief.
Question - How do you handle initial spell selection? My choice, yours, random?
