Finding Players (Recruitment)Look for players for chatroom, play-by-post, or even real-life games here. Threads will expire after 3 months, so be sure to move important information to your OOC thread.
The game is Red Hand of Doom (chapter 2 of 5), with some houserules and really competent opposition, making it excellent, if very hard, tactical and strategical challenge.
We need 3 new playersstill might have one vacancy, with characters of level 9.
The game is currently outside GitP, on RPoL. The houserules and original recruitment thread are here and herereposted here.
Please post your interest here in this thread after you read and accept the houserules.
If you are familiar with the module, that is not a problem ... the enemies will only conceptually resemble their defaults anyways, so that just leaves plot as a potential spoiler.
Still looking for people? I've never read or played the module, but I keep meaning to.
Yes, we currently have three vacancies the DM has some trouble filling, mostly because any experianced players he knows are already familiar with his take on the module.

Unfortunately, I don't have rights to see links you've sent.
Hmm... the access settings must have changed, I definitely remember it being open and even indexed by google. Looks like you'll have to create an account and contact the DM. Read some of the game before you decide you are willing to join. The houserules and original recruitment thread are here and here.
This is interesting. The houserules seem fine, I'll read up a bit on the actual game and see if it looks like something I'd fit in.
Good. Contact the DM.

Currently we have:
1. A cleric riding a griffon (he's fine).
2. A master thrower, whose player is getting bored with "I full attack".
3. A bard who is dead and will be two levels down after revived, so not sure if he'll be played after that.
We just lost:
1. Two arcanists.
2. A psion.
3. Barbarian/ranger dino rider.
So, mostly everything is still open, including a second cleric position if someone is up to that.
The DM has informed me that restriction of access is on purpose, so I have to officially alter the procedure. You can read the houserules here and original character creation thread here, where they are open, then post in this thread you're ok with them, then wait for my "go".

See above. Also, you have a low post count on this forum. Any other place where I can see you in action? We've had some problems with people missing (NOT leaving), so I want to be (maybe overly) conservative here and some good track record will greatly improve your odds.
Hmmm okay that's actually quite cool. So most of the positions are actually open. Color me interested and I'll double check with the houserules to see if there is anything special I would like to play around with.
Does the Master Thrower plan on remaking his/her character or something?
Anyway, what are the chances that homebrew is allowed? I actually don't have anything on mind. I just wanted to ask if even the prospect of asking was okay.

The positions are currently being filled up, I'll keep you updated. Master Thrower was not this player's make, which also had it's effect... he's planned to be retired (not because of any mechanical weakness, just for not enough fun for the player) and another character created. Any third party material of any kind is explicitly disallowed and I'm afraid this includes homebrew.
Quite interested. I'm becoming familiar with the house-rules right now and should have a build ready late today/early tomorrow. I just need to keep within the optimization range of your current characters and get used to the feat adjustments.
----
Warlocks are my old favorite. Can warlocks use Dragon Shaman invocations? Are Grafts and Graft Flesh from Libris Mortis allowed?
I also have a few ideas for a front-liner; Can Unarmed Strike be used with Two Weapon Fighting? Can Improved Natural attack (unarmed strike) be stacked, or should I work toward improving usable gauntlet size?
--
In general, does the party retreat when battles go poorly or do people stay 'till the bitter end (kind of guessing at how the bard died twice).
How is securing expensive material components handled?

I don't really spend much time in GitP. I am very active on Rpol though. My name is Dozryn there.
Not sure about answers to your mechanical questions (will have to work that with the DM), but regarding bard getting dead twice and retreating in general: first time he was specifically targeted by some dragon and second time we had no problems until we had a lot of problems, so it was infeasible to retreat and a lot of people got killed. We never specifically dismiss this option, and the survivors have actually executed it in the last fight when it became feasible.
I'll keep this thread open and active until all the candidates make working characters and will post if someone drops off (in which case JKTrickster will have the precedence, if he'll be interested in the options that will be left).
Dragon Shaman invocations: Tempted to say no just because I'm not familiar with them. It probably wouldn't break anything, but Warlocks have been buffed substantially and haven't really been tested.
Grafts: No.
Dual punching: Yes.
INA stacking: Stacking how? I didn't think this feat even could be taken more than once for the same natural attack. It does work once though.
Bard deaths: The first was bad luck. It broke right through the Mirror Image and OHKOed on a crit (if it hadn't crit, he still has a tail attack left). The second he was up against a much less dangerous opponent but also wasn't as well protected. This one was kind of bad luck, but not really.
Retreating: Kind of hard to do in D&D to be honest. I'm kind of surprised the group was able to do so successfully, though this was in part due to the fact it was now smaller, so everyone could still move fast.
Expensive components: You still have to buy them. For something like Artificer infusions I'm willing to just consider it a pool and you deduct 50, 100... whatever number instead of tracking individual numbers of each. If it requires specific stuff (diamond dust, etc) that has to be tracked specifically.

Sure no problem I'm in no hurries for any new games.
A strange note-I cannot access the GitP character creation thread.
I'm not sure if the problem is a new one or if I was looking at a different thread while starting up my character creation process, but when I tried to look at it I couldnt.
On luckily, I'm decent at searching for things.
Is This it?
Nevermind. There is a character creation thread in the site I can use.

Re: Competent players wanted (3.5*; still have one vacancy)
I would like to play as a half orc monk/psychic warrior... I think it would be fun and flavorful but I see there is a psion based gish... though mine is more of a frightliner beat em up with psionic augmentation... I have a RPOL account already
