so i killed the naked mole dog but a jabberer came and killed a horse
it killed our marksdwarves but was slain by Tosid Ralukkib walls need
to be finished fast
there all mole dogs are dead but our militia captain was injured so now
his right arm doesn't work and I'm going to start on a graveyard for our
two fallen dwarves
oh geez a troll is inside gotta kill it
Tosid is really tearing up these cave monsters only casualty was some
useless dwarf assigned to masonry
The cave is now completely sealed off!! now to start working on that
training yard

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I've been having computer issues, and I'm going to have to reinstall DF. Could somebody give me the appropriate links for the region and fortress, and for the patch I need? I'd like to take a crack at the third year, or maybe the fourth.
Also, the cow is a powerful and noble beast, and crafting one of iron shows my admiration and respect for a fellow dwarf.

During the celebrations after our victory I was informed by Luzahn that
our legendary metal crafter was killed during the ambush I found our best
weaponsmith, Kadol Thikutrinulon, on it.
I also started mining operations to find some coal so we can start steel
production and to make use of our siege operator I'm going to put a
batista in the tunnel for defense
and one again migrants come so lets see what they have
well there's a decent axedwarf and a marksdwarf, an amazing carpenter and
wood cutter, a doctor that we could use and, another amazing marksdwarf!

the river has frozen over for the year so if anything trys to kill us it

yes but this guy is an elite marksdwarf and very useful but i guess i could lock him in a archery tower for a similar effect
of course i don't even know if he is a vampire

ive desided to test to see if iton is a vampire by sealing him in an
isolated place for awhile to see if he gets thirsty and if he is i
will give him his own personal archrery tower
The dwarven caravan is expected any day now so we can hopefully request
some caol since we havent found any yet

There's another necro somewhere, he'll need to be dealt with. Station military near the corpses to try to sniff him out. Also that is a massive undead invasion.

ok so i took stock of all available troops, we have 6 of the
caravan troops remaining 4 marksdwarves using mostly bone ammo and 2 melee
troops, a speardwarf and a mace dwarf, against a Horde of zombies

Okay, what do you say, guys? Go with it as it is (technically possible, but it's going to be a HUGE pain in the ass,) roll back to the end of Luzahn's year, or let it go and find a new place to embark?

You know what? Changing to this. I had forgotten that there is no tantrum spiral to worry about. I just recommend finishing a wall across the other side of the river so we can seal up completely while we build our strength.
And also that vampire rules the fort now. He can stay, and shall feed on our migrants as his just due.

Okay then, if you're going to be available in the next few days then make a post affirming so and (approximately) 24 hours after this post I'll select someone at random from the available players. For clarity, if you're going to have to put off the game for five or six days, that does not count as "being available."

I'm game and available. I may or may not have internet access this weekend due to visiting relatives, but I will be able to play and have an update late Sunday.

22nd of Opal: So I find myself a ghost, and my only surviving kin a vampire battling the horde of the undead. Lets see what I can do in guiding Iton from beyond the grave.
First order of business, setting up a wall around the far side of the river, to hopefully cut down on the undead's access to our fort.
23rd of Opal: Iton is now expedition leader, can't say I'm surprised honestly, although it is interesting that it took him this long to "take over"...
26th of Opal: Thieves are running off with all our things. Well a pair of iron earings so far, will have to look at security once things settle down.
4th of obsidian: Had to convince Iton to disband the militia. He keep practicing archery when there was work to be done.
16th of Obsidian: Another Ambush! Should be interesting to see if Iton or the Undead get to them first.
19th of Obsidian: Yet another ambush, almost glad I'm a ghost now, but I sure could do with some ale. Would making watching this on going disaster more enjoyable at least.
20th of Slate: Migrants arrive, or migrant I should say. Either way our fort has grown by 100% Progress! I'm not sure how/why someone would come willingly to our fort. I suppose someone must be desperate to get rid of people back home.

2nd of Felsite: We're up to 9 dwarfs now somehow, and we have lost Deler Bomrekkirar, a marksdwarf, who I didn't even know was around. This whole afterlife bit isn't really doing much for me if our kin are dying before I even know they're even here. I've gone and possessed one of our new residents, here's hoping i can be of more use this way. Seems another dwarf has been found dead, but our population count has yet to drop, I tip my hat to you Iton.
9th of Felsite: Unsure of how to proceed, I command the lazy idlers to smooth some stone.
13th of Felsite: Since no one seems capable of building a wall around here, i've determined that a moat shall be dug around the far side of the river. Also an elven caravan showed up, here's hoping those pointy eared illegitimately born out of wedlock tree hugging hippies get eaten by the undead. If not, mayhaps they'll actually have something useful.
20th of Felsite: And that would be the 3rd ambush now. I'm not sure what they think they'll find here other than a swift death and a long afterlife.
22nd of Felsite: Great Armok what posses this creatures to come assult us? All we have is dead, undead, re-undead, and soon to be dead then undead dwarfs. It makes no sense!
27th of Felsite: Many (all but Iton) of our comrades have fallen to the horde, including the dwarf I was possessing. We are once again left with Iton as our only hope, and with his vampiric nature blocking me, I am forced to advise from beyond the grave yet again.
Unknown Date: Mighty Iton has fallen, the fortress has been lost. Nothing walks the halls but the undead.

Well that was unfortunate. Not entirely unexpected, but still unfortunate. Do I need to post the saved world, or are we going to make a new fort off the last posted save?
